1 Prece de um aflito que desabafa sua angústia diante do Senhor. Senhor, ouvi a minha oração, e chegue até vós o meu clamor.
2 Hide not thy face from me in the day [when] I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me; in the day [when] I call, answer me speedily.
2 Não oculteis de mim a vossa face no dia de minha angústia. Inclinai para mim o vosso ouvido. Quando vos invocar, acudi-me prontamente,
3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as [in] a hearth.
3 porque meus dias se dissipam como a fumaça, e como um tição consomem-se os meus ossos.
4 My heart is smitten and withered like grass so that I forget to eat my bread.
4 Queimando como erva, meu coração murcha, até me esqueço de comer meu pão.
5 By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my skin.
5 A violência de meus gemidos faz com que se me peguem à pele os ossos.
6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert.
6 Assemelho-me ao pelicano do deserto, sou como a coruja nas ruínas.
7 I watch and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
7 Perdi o sono e gemo, como pássaro solitário no telhado.
8 My enemies reproach me all the day, [and] those that are mad against me are sworn against me.
8 Insultam-me continuamente os inimigos, em seu furor me atiram imprecações.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread and mingled my drink with weeping,
9 Como cinza do mesmo modo que pão, lágrimas se misturam à minha bebida,
10 because of thine indignation and thy wrath; for thou hast lifted me up and cast me down.
10 devido à vossa cólera indignada, pois me tomastes para me lançar ao longe.
11 My days [are] like a shadow that declines, and I am withered like grass.
11 Os meus dias se esvaecem como a sombra da noite e me vou murchando como a relva.
12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever and thy remembrance unto all generations.
12 Vós, porém, Senhor, sois eterno, e vosso nome subsiste em todas as gerações.
13 Thou shalt arise [and] have mercy upon Zion; for the time to favour her, the set time, is come.
13 Levantai-vos, pois, e sede propício a Sião; é tempo de compadecer-vos dela, chegou a hora...
14 For thy servants love her stones and have compassion on the dust thereof.
14 porque vossos servos têm amor aos seus escombros e se condoem de suas ruínas.
15 So the Gentiles shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory
15 E as nações pagãs reverenciarão o vosso nome, Senhor, e os reis da terra prestarão homenagens à vossa glória.
16 because the LORD shall have built up Zion, and he shall be seen in his glory.
16 Quando o Senhor tiver reconstruído Sião, e aparecido em sua glória,
17 He shall have regarded the prayer of those who are [alone and] destitute and not despised their prayer.
17 quando ele aceitar a oração dos desvalidos e não mais rejeitar as suas súplicas,
18 This shall be written for the generation to come, and the people who shall be created shall praise JAH.
18 escrevam-se estes fatos para a geração futura, e louve o Senhor o povo que há de vir,
19 For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from the heavens the LORD beheld the earth
19 porque o Senhor olhou do alto de seu santuário, do céu ele contemplou a terra;
20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death,
20 para escutar os gemidos dos cativos, para livrar da morte os condenados;
21 that they might declare the name of the LORD in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem,
21 para que seja aclamado em Sião o nome do Senhor, e em Jerusalém o seu louvor,
22 when the people are gathered together [as one] and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
22 no dia em que se hão de reunir os povos, e os reinos para servir o Senhor.
23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
23 Deus esgotou-me as forças no meio do caminho, abreviou-me os dias.
24 I said, O my God, do not cut me off in the midst of my days; thy years [are] from generation to generation.
24 Meu Deus, peço, não me leveis no meio da minha vida, vós cujos anos são eternos.
25 Of old thou hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens [are] the work of thy hands.
25 No começo criastes a terra, e o céu é obra de vossas mãos.
26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture thou shalt change them, and they shall be changed:
26 Um e outro passarão, enquanto vós ficareis. Tudo se acaba pelo uso como um traje. Como uma veste, vós os substituís e eles hão de sumir.
27 But thou [art] the same, and thy years shall have no end.
27 Mas vós permaneceis o mesmo e vossos anos não têm fim.
28 The sons of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.:
28 Os filhos de vossos servos habitarão seguros, e sua posteridade se perpetuará diante de vós.
