1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for it becommeth vpright men to be thankefull.
1 Cantem de alegria ao Senhor, vocês que são justos; aos que são retos fica bem louvá-lo.
2 Prayse the Lord with harpe: sing vnto him with viole and instrument of ten strings.
2 Louvem o Senhor com harpa; ofereçam-lhe música com lira de dez cordas.
3 Sing vnto him a newe song: sing cheerefully with a loude voyce.
3 Cantem-lhe uma nova canção; toquem com habilidade ao aclamá-lo.
4 For the word of the Lord is righteous, and all his workes are faithfull.
4 Pois a palavra do Senhor é verdadeira; ele é fiel em tudo o que faz.
5 He loueth righteousnesse and iudgement: the earth is full of the goodnesse of the Lord.
5 Ele ama a justiça e a retidão; a terra está cheia da bondade do Senhor.
6 By the worde of the Lord were the heauens made, and all the hoste of them by the breath of his mouth.
6 Mediante a palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e os corpos celestes, pelo sopro de sua boca.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as vpon an heape, and layeth vp the depths in his treasures.
7 Ele ajunta as águas do mar num só lugar; das profundezas faz reservatórios.
8 Let all the earth feare the Lord: let al them that dwell in the world, feare him.
8 Toda a terra tema o Senhor; tremam diante dele todos os habitantes do mundo.
9 For he spake, and it was done: he commanded, and it stood.
9 Pois ele falou, e tudo se fez; ele ordenou, e tudo surgiu.
10 The Lord breaketh the counsell of the heathen, and bringeth to nought the deuices of the people.
10 O Senhor desfaz os planos das nações e frustra os propósitos dos povos.
11 The counsell of the Lord shall stand for euer, and the thoughts of his heart throughout all ages.
11 Mas os planos do Senhor permanecem para sempre, os propósitos do seu coração, por todas as gerações.
12 Blessed is that nation, whose God is the Lord: euen the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance.
12 Como é feliz a nação que tem o Senhor como Deus, o povo que ele escolheu para lhe pertencer!
13 The Lord looketh downe from heauen, and beholdeth all the children of men.
13 Dos céus olha o Senhor e vê toda a humanidade;
14 From the habitation of his dwelling he beholdeth all them that dwell in the earth.
14 do seu trono ele observa todos os habitantes da terra;
15 He facioneth their hearts euery one, and vnderstandeth all their workes.
15 ele, que forma o coração de todos, que conhece tudo o que fazem.
16 The King is not saued by the multitude of an hoste, neither is the mightie man deliuered by great strength.
16 Nenhum rei se salva pelo tamanho do seu exército; nenhum guerreiro escapa por sua grande força.
17 A horse is a vaine helpe, and shall not deliuer any by his great strength.
17 O cavalo é vã esperança de vitória; apesar da sua grande força, é incapaz de salvar.
18 Beholde, the eye of the Lord is vpon them that feare him, and vpon them, that trust in his mercie,
18 Mas o Senhor protege aqueles que o temem, e os que firmam a esperança no seu amor,
19 To deliuer their soules from death, and to preserue them in famine.
19 para livrá-los da morte e garantir-lhes vida, mesmo em tempos de fome.
20 Our soule waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helpe and our shielde.
20 Nossa esperança está no Senhor; ele é o nosso auxílio e a nossa proteção.
21 Surely our heart shall reioyce in him, because we trusted in his holy Name.
21 Nele se alegra o nosso coração, pois confiamos no seu santo nome.
22 Let thy mercie, O Lord, be vpon vs, as we trust in thee.
22 Esteja sobre nós o teu amor, Senhor, como está em ti a nossa esperança.
