1 Wilt thou hunt the pray for the lyon? or fill the appetite of the lyons whelpes,
1 “Você sabe quando as cabras monteses dão à luz? Viu as corças nascerem?
2 When they couch in their places, and remaine in the couert to lye in waite?
2 Sabe quantos meses dura sua gestação? Sabe qual é o momento do parto?
3 Who prepareth for the rauen his meate, when his birdes crie vnto God, wandering for lacke of meate?
3 Elas se agacham para dar à luz seus filhotes, e assim suas crias nascem.
4 Knowest thou the time when the wilde goates bring foorth yong? or doest thou marke when the hindes doe calue?
4 Os filhotes crescem nos campos abertos e vão embora, para nunca mais voltar.
5 Canst thou nomber the moneths that they fulfill? or knowest thou the time when they bring foorth?
5 “Quem deu ao jumento sua liberdade? Quem desatou suas cordas?
6 They bow them selues: they bruise their yong and cast out their sorowes.
6 Eu o coloquei no deserto; as terras estéreis são seu lar.
7 Yet their yong waxe fatte, and growe vp with corne: they goe foorth and returne not vnto them.
7 Ele despreza o barulho da cidade e não faz caso dos gritos do condutor.
8 Who hath set the wilde asse at libertie? or who hath loosed the bondes of the wilde asse?
8 Os montes são seu pasto, onde ele procura o capim.
9 It is I which haue made the wildernesse his house, and the salt places his dwellings.
9 “Acaso o boi selvagem aceitará ser domado? Passará a noite no curral?
10 He derideth the multitude of the citie: he heareth not the crie of the driuer.
10 Você consegue prendê-lo ao arado? Acaso ele lavrará um campo para você?
11 He seeketh out the mountaine for his pasture, and searcheth after euery greene thing.
11 Sendo ele muito forte, pode-se confiar nele? Você pode ir embora, certo de que ele fará seu trabalho?
12 Will the vnicorne serue thee? or will he tary by thy cribbe?
12 Pode depender dele para recolher o trigo e levá-lo ao lugar de debulhar os grãos?
13 Canst thou binde the vnicorne with his band to labour in the furrowe? or will he plowe the valleyes after thee?
13 “A avestruz bate as asas, alegre, mas não tem a plumagem da cegonha.
14 Wilt thou trust in him, because his strength is great, and cast off thy labour vnto him?
14 Ela põe seus ovos na terra, para que sejam aquecidos no pó.
15 Wilt thou beleeue him, that he will bring home thy seede, and gather it vnto thy barne?
15 Não se preocupa que alguém possa pisá-los ou que um animal selvagem os destrua.
16 Hast thou giuen the pleasant wings vnto the peacockes? or winges and feathers vnto the ostriche?
16 Trata seus filhotes com dureza, como se não fossem seus; não se importa se eles morrem.
17 Which leaueth his egges in the earth, and maketh them hote in the dust,
17 Pois Deus não lhe deu sabedoria, nem lhe concedeu entendimento.
18 And forgetteth that the foote might scatter the, or that the wild beast might breake the.
18 Quando, porém, ela se levanta para correr, zomba até mesmo do cavalo mais veloz e seu cavaleiro.
19 He sheweth himselfe cruell vnto his yong ones, as they were not his, and is without feare, as if he trauailed in vaine.
19 “Acaso você deu força ao cavalo ou lhe cobriu o pescoço com a crina?
20 For God had depriued him of wisedom, and hath giuen him no part of vnderstanding.
20 Deu-lhe a habilidade de pular como um gafanhoto? Seu bufar majestoso é assustador!
21 When time is, he mounteth on hie: he mocketh the horse and his rider.
21 Ele revolve o chão com as patas e alegra-se em sua força quando corre para a batalha.
22 Hast thou giuen the horse strength? or couered his necke with neying?
22 Ri do medo e nada teme; não foge da espada.
23 Hast thou made him afraid as the grashopper? his strong neying is fearefull.
23 Flechas voam ao seu redor, lanças e dardos faíscam.
24 He diggeth in the valley, and reioyceth in his strength: he goeth foorth to meete the harnest man.
24 Agitado e enfurecido, devora o caminho; lança-se à batalha quando a trombeta ressoa.
25 He mocketh at feare, and is not afraid, and turneth not backe from the sworde,
25 Relincha ao toque da trombeta e fareja de longe a batalha, à espera das ordens do capitão e do ruído de luta.
26 Though the quiuer rattle against him, the glittering speare and the shield.
26 “Acaso é sua sabedoria que faz o falcão voar alto e abrir as asas para o sul?
27 He swalloweth the ground for fearcenes and rage, and he beleeueth not that it is the noise of the trumpet.
27 É por ordem sua que a águia se eleva e faz o ninho lá no alto?
28 He sayth among the trumpets, Ha, ha: hee smellleth the battell afarre off, and the noyse of the captaines, and the shouting.
28 Ela mora nos rochedos; constrói seu ninho nas pedras mais altas.
29 Shall the hauke flie by thy wisedome, stretching out his wings toward the South?
29 Dali, ela caça sua presa; de longe, seus olhos a avistam.
30 Doeth the eagle mount vp at thy commandement, or make his nest on hie?
30 Seus filhotes bebem sangue; onde há um animal morto, ali ela está”.
31 Shee abideth and remaineth in the rocke, euen vpon the toppe of the rocke, and the tower.

37 Beholde, I am vile: what shall I answere thee? I will lay mine hand vpon my mouth.

38 Once haue I spoken, but I will answere no more, yea twise, but I will proceede no further.
