1 Paul, the servant of God, and (an) apostle of Jesus Christ, by the faith of the chosen of God, and by the knowing of the truth, which is after piety,
1 Paulo, servo de Deus e apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, para promover a fé que é dos eleitos de Deus e o pleno conhecimento da verdade segundo a piedade.
2 into the hope of everlasting life, which life God that lieth not, promised before (the) times of the world; (in the hope of eternal life, which \+em life\+em* God who lieth not, promised before the creation of the world;)
2 Escrevo na esperança da vida eterna que o Deus que não pode mentir prometeu antes dos tempos eternos
3 but he hath showed in his times his word in preaching, that is betaken to me (or that is delivered to me), by the commandment of God, our Saviour,
3 e, no momento oportuno, manifestou a sua palavra mediante a pregação que me foi confiada por ordem de Deus, nosso Salvador,
4 to Titus, most dearworthy son [or beloved son], by the common faith, grace and (the) peace of God the Father, and of Christ Jesus, our Saviour, (or and of the Messiah Jesus, our Saviour).
4 a Tito, verdadeiro filho, segundo a fé comum. Que a graça e a paz, da parte de Deus Pai e de Cristo Jesus, nosso Salvador, estejam com você.
5 For cause of this thing I left thee at Crete, (so) that thou amend those things that fail, and ordain priests by cities, as also I assigned to thee [or I disposed to thee].
5 Foi por esta causa que deixei você em Creta: para que pusesse em ordem as coisas restantes, bem como, em cada cidade, constituísse presbíteros, conforme prescrevi a você:
6 If any man is without crime, [or great sin], an husband of one wife, and hath faithful sons, not in accusation of lechery, or not subject.
6 alguém que seja irrepreensível, marido de uma só mulher, que tenha filhos crentes que não são acusados de devassidão, nem são insubordinados.
7 For it behooveth a bishop to be without crime, [as] a dispenser of God, not proud, not wrathful, not given to drunkenness, not [a] smiter, not covetous of foul winning(s);
7 Porque é indispensável que o bispo, por ser encarregado das coisas de Deus, seja irrepreensível, não arrogante, alguém que não se irrita facilmente, não apegado ao vinho, não violento, nem ganancioso.
8 but holding hospitality, benign, prudent, sober, just, holy, continent,
8 Pelo contrário, o bispo deve ser hospitaleiro, amigo do bem, sensato, justo, piedoso, deve ter domínio de si,
9 taking [or embracing] that true word, that is after doctrine; that he be mighty to admonish in wholesome teaching [or doctrine], and to reprove them that gainsay (or and to rebuke those who speak against it).
9 ser apegado à palavra fiel, que está de acordo com a doutrina, para que possa exortar pelo reto ensino e convencer os que contradizem este ensino.
10 For there be many unobedient, and vain speakers, and deceivers, most(ly) they that be of (the) circumcision, (or mostly those who be of the circumcision, or who be circumcised),
10 Porque existem muitos, especialmente os da circuncisão, que são insubordinados, falam coisas sem sentido e enganam os outros.
11 which it behooveth to be reproved (or who it behooveth to be rebuked); which subvert all houses, teaching which things it behooveth not, for [the] love of foul winning.
11 É preciso fazer com que se calem, porque andam pervertendo casas inteiras, ensinando o que não devem, com a intenção vergonhosa de ganhar dinheiro.
12 And one of them, their proper prophet said (or their own prophet said), Men of Crete be(for)evermore liars, evil beasts, of slow womb.
12 Foi um dos cretenses, um próprio profeta deles, que disse: “Os cretenses são sempre mentirosos, feras terríveis, comilões preguiçosos.”
13 This witnessing is true. For which cause blame them sore, that they be (made) whole in (the) faith, (This testimony is true. For which reason sharply rebuke them, so that they can be made whole in the faith,)
13 Este testemunho é verdadeiro. Portanto, repreenda-os severamente, para que sejam sadios na fé
14 not giving attention to (the) fables of (the) Jews, and to (the) commandments of men, that turn away them from (the) truth [or \+sls (that)\+sls* turn them away from \+sls (the)\+sls* truth].
14 e não se ocupem com fábulas judaicas, nem com mandamentos de gente que se desvia da verdade.
15 And all things be clean to clean men; but to unclean men and to unfaithful (men), nothing is clean, for the soul and (the) conscience of them be made unclean.
15 Todas as coisas são puras para os puros; mas, para os impuros e descrentes, nada é puro. Porque tanto a mente como a consciência deles estão corrompidas.
16 They acknowledge that they know God, but by (their) deeds they deny [him]; when they be abominable, and unbelieveful, and reprovable to all good work(s)(or and unfit for any good work).
16 Afirmam que conhecem a Deus, mas o negam por meio do que fazem; é por isso que são abomináveis, desobedientes e reprovados para qualquer boa obra.
