1 Begin we therefore again to praise (or to commend) us-selves? or whether we need, as some men, epistles [or letters] of praising to you, or of you? (or from you?)
1 Será que estamos começando a nos recomendar outra vez? Somos como aqueles que precisam entregar-lhes ou pedir-lhes cartas de recomendação?
2 Ye be our epistle, written in our hearts, which is known and read of all men (or which is known and read by all men),
2 Vocês mesmos são nossa carta, escrita em nosso coração, para ser conhecida e lida por todos!
3 and [ye be] made open, for ye be the epistle of Christ ministered of us, and written, not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not in stone tables, but in fleshly tables of heart. (and \+em ye be\+em* made open, for ye be the letter of the Messiah served by us, and written, not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not on stone tablets, but on the fleshly tablets of the heart.)
3 Sem dúvida, vocês são uma carta de Cristo, que mostra os resultados de nosso trabalho em seu meio, escrita não com pena e tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo, e gravada não em tábuas de pedra, mas em corações humanos.
4 For we have such trust by Christ to God;
4 Estamos certos disso tudo por causa da grande confiança que temos em Deus por meio de Cristo.
5 not that we be sufficient to think anything of us[-selves], as of us, but our sufficience is of God (or but our sufficiency is from God).
5 Não que nos consideremos capazes de fazer qualquer coisa por conta própria; nossa capacitação vem de Deus.
6 Which also made us able ministers of the new testament, not by (the) letter, but by (the) Spirit; for the letter slayeth, but the Spirit quickeneth. (Who also made us able servants of the new covenant, not by the letter, but by the Spirit; for the letter killeth, but the Spirit enliveneth or giveth life.)
6 Ele nos capacitou para sermos ministros da nova aliança, não da lei escrita, mas do Espírito. A lei escrita termina em morte, mas o Espírito dá vida.
7 And if the ministration of death written by letter(s) in stones was in glory, so that the children of Israel might not behold into the face of Moses, for the glory of his face, which [glory] is voided (or is done away),
7 O antigo sistema, com suas leis gravadas em pedra, terminava em morte, embora tivesse começado com tamanha glória que os israelitas não conseguiam olhar para o rosto de Moisés, por causa da glória que brilhava em seu rosto, ainda que esse brilho já estivesse se desvanecendo.
8 how shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more in glory?
8 Acaso não deveríamos esperar uma glória muito maior no novo sistema, que se baseia na obra do Espírito?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation was in glory, much more the ministration of rightwiseness is plenteous in glory.
9 Se o antigo sistema, que traz condenação, era glorioso, muito mais glorioso é o novo sistema, que nos torna justos diante de Deus!
10 For neither that that was clear (or that that was glorious) was glorified in this part for the excellent glory;
10 De fato, a glória do passado não era nada gloriosa em comparação com a glória magnífica de agora.
11 and if that that is voided (or that that was done away) was by glory, much more that that dwelleth still is in glory.
11 Portanto, se o antigo sistema, que foi substituído, era cheio de glória, muito mais glorioso é o novo, que permanece para sempre!
12 Therefore we that have such hope, use much trust;
12 Uma vez que o novo sistema nos dá tal esperança, podemos falar com grande coragem.
13 and not as Moses laid [or put] a veil on his face, that the children of Israel should not behold into his face, which veil is voided. (and not as Moses put a veil on his face, so that the children of Israel could not behold his face, which \+em veil\+em* is now done away.)
13 Não somos como Moisés, que cobria o rosto com um véu para que os israelitas não vissem a glória, embora ela já estivesse se desvanecendo.
14 But the wits of them be astonied; for into this day the same veil in [the] reading of the old testament, dwelleth not showed, for it is voided in Christ, (But their minds be astonished; for unto this day the same veil remaineth when they read from the Old Covenant, though it is not shown, but it is done away in the Messiah,)
14 Mas a mente do povo estava endurecida e, até hoje, toda vez que a antiga aliança é lida, o mesmo véu lhes cobre a mente, e esse véu só pode ser removido em Cristo.
15 but into this day, when Moses is read, the veil is put on their hearts.
15 Até hoje, quando eles leem os escritos de Moisés, seu coração está coberto por esse véu.
16 But when Israel shall be converted to God, the veil shall be done away.
16 Contudo, sempre que alguém se volta para o Senhor, o véu é removido.
17 And the Spirit is the Lord; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. [Forsooth the Lord is a Spirit; forsooth where is the Spirit of God, there is liberty.]
17 Pois o Senhor é o Espírito, e onde está o Espírito do Senhor, ali há liberdade.
18 And all we that with open face see the glory of the Lord, be transformed into the same image, from clearness into clearness (or from glory unto glory), as of the Spirit of the Lord.
18 Portanto, todos nós, dos quais o véu foi removido, podemos ver e refletir a glória do Senhor, e o Senhor, que é o Espírito, nos transforma gradativamente à sua imagem gloriosa, deixando-nos cada vez mais parecidos com ele.
