1 Begin we therefore again to praise (or to commend) us-selves? or whether we need, as some men, epistles [or letters] of praising to you, or of you? (or from you?)
1 Quando dizemos isso, será que estamos começando a nos elogiar a nós mesmos? Por acaso, como acontece com alguns, nós precisamos entregar cartas de recomendação para vocês ou pedi-las a vocês?
2 Ye be our epistle, written in our hearts, which is known and read of all men (or which is known and read by all men),
2 Vocês mesmos são a nossa carta, escrita no nosso coração, para ser conhecida e lida por todos.
3 and [ye be] made open, for ye be the epistle of Christ ministered of us, and written, not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not in stone tables, but in fleshly tables of heart. (and \+em ye be\+em* made open, for ye be the letter of the Messiah served by us, and written, not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not on stone tablets, but on the fleshly tablets of the heart.)
3 Sim, é claro que vocês são uma carta escrita pelo próprio Cristo e entregue por nós. Ela não foi escrita com tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo; ela não está gravada em placas de pedra, mas em corações humanos.
4 For we have such trust by Christ to God;
4 Dizemos isso por causa da confiança que temos em Deus, por meio de Cristo.
5 not that we be sufficient to think anything of us[-selves], as of us, but our sufficience is of God (or but our sufficiency is from God).
5 Em nós não há nada que nos permita afirmar que somos capazes de fazer esse trabalho, pois a nossa capacidade vem de Deus.
6 Which also made us able ministers of the new testament, not by (the) letter, but by (the) Spirit; for the letter slayeth, but the Spirit quickeneth. (Who also made us able servants of the new covenant, not by the letter, but by the Spirit; for the letter killeth, but the Spirit enliveneth or giveth life.)
6 É ele quem nos torna capazes de servir à nova aliança , que tem como base não a lei escrita, mas o Espírito de Deus. A lei escrita mata, mas o Espírito de Deus dá a vida.
7 And if the ministration of death written by letter(s) in stones was in glory, so that the children of Israel might not behold into the face of Moses, for the glory of his face, which [glory] is voided (or is done away),
7 Quando a lei, que traz a morte, foi gravada em placas de pedra, a glória de Deus apareceu, e o rosto de Moisés ficou brilhando. O brilho do seu rosto já estava desaparecendo quando ele entregou as placas ao povo de Israel; mas mesmo assim esse brilho era tão forte, que os israelitas não podiam fixar os olhos em Moisés. Se o domínio da lei veio com tanta glória,
8 how shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more in glory?
8 quanto maior ainda é a glória que acompanha o domínio do Espírito de Deus!
9 For if the ministration of condemnation was in glory, much more the ministration of rightwiseness is plenteous in glory.
9 A lei, que condena as pessoas, teve glória; porém muito mais glória tem o Espírito, que traz a salvação.
10 For neither that that was clear (or that that was glorious) was glorified in this part for the excellent glory;
10 Pois a glória que antes era tão grande não é mais nada por causa da glória de agora, que é muito maior.
11 and if that that is voided (or that that was done away) was by glory, much more that that dwelleth still is in glory.
11 De modo que, se houve glória naquilo que durou somente um pouco de tempo, muito mais glória tem aquilo que dura para sempre.
12 Therefore we that have such hope, use much trust;
12 E, porque temos essa esperança, agimos com toda a confiança.
13 and not as Moses laid [or put] a veil on his face, that the children of Israel should not behold into his face, which veil is voided. (and not as Moses put a veil on his face, so that the children of Israel could not behold his face, which \+em veil\+em* is now done away.)
13 Nós não fazemos como Moisés, que cobria o rosto com um véu para que os israelitas não pudessem ver que o seu brilho estava desaparecendo.
14 But the wits of them be astonied; for into this day the same veil in [the] reading of the old testament, dwelleth not showed, for it is voided in Christ, (But their minds be astonished; for unto this day the same veil remaineth when they read from the Old Covenant, though it is not shown, but it is done away in the Messiah,)
14 Mas eles não queriam compreender e, até hoje, quando eles leem os livros da antiga aliança , a mente deles está coberta com o mesmo véu. E esse véu só é tirado quando a pessoa se une com Cristo.
15 but into this day, when Moses is read, the veil is put on their hearts.
15 Mesmo agora, quando eles leem a Lei de Moisés, o véu ainda cobre a mente deles.
16 But when Israel shall be converted to God, the veil shall be done away.
16 Mas o véu pode ser tirado, como dizem as Escrituras Sagradas : “O véu de Moisés foi tirado quando ele se voltou para o Senhor.”
17 And the Spirit is the Lord; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. [Forsooth the Lord is a Spirit; forsooth where is the Spirit of God, there is liberty.]
17 Aqui a palavra “Senhor” quer dizer o Espírito. E onde o Espírito do Senhor está presente, aí existe liberdade.
18 And all we that with open face see the glory of the Lord, be transformed into the same image, from clearness into clearness (or from glory unto glory), as of the Spirit of the Lord.
18 Portanto, todos nós, com o rosto descoberto, refletimos a glória que vem do Senhor. Essa glória vai ficando cada vez mais brilhante e vai nos tornando cada vez mais parecidos com o Senhor, que é o Espírito.
