GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs VC
1 The Festival of Unleavened Bread, called Passover, was near.
1 Aproximava-se a festa dos pães sem fermento, chamada Páscoa.
2 The chief priests and the experts in Moses’ Teachings were looking for some way to kill Jesus. However, they were afraid of the people.
2 Os príncipes dos sacerdotes e os escribas buscavam um meio de matar Jesus, mas temiam o povo.
3 Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve apostles.
3 Entretanto, Satanás entrou em Judas, que tinha por sobrenome Iscariotes, um dos Doze.
4 Judas went to the chief priests and the temple guards and discussed with them how he could betray Jesus.
4 Judas foi procurar os príncipes dos sacerdotes e os oficiais para se entender com eles sobre o modo de lho entregar.
5 They were pleased and agreed to give him some money.
5 Eles se alegraram com isso, e concordaram em lhe dar dinheiro.
6 So Judas promised to do it. He kept looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them when there was no crowd.
6 Também ele se obrigou. E buscava ocasião oportuna para o trair, sem que a multidão o soubesse.
7 The day came during the Festival of Unleavened Bread when the Passover lamb had to be killed.
7 Raiou o dia dos pães sem fermento, em que se devia imolar a Páscoa.
8 Jesus sent Peter and John and told them, “Go, prepare the Passover lamb for us to eat.”
8 Jesus enviou Pedro e João, dizendo: Ide e preparai-nos a ceia da Páscoa.
9 They asked him, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”
9 Perguntaram-lhe eles: Onde queres que a preparemos?
10 He told them, “Go into the city, and you will meet a man carrying a jug of water. Follow him into the house he enters.
10 Ele respondeu: Ao entrardes na cidade, encontrareis um homem carregando uma bilha de água; segui-o até a casa em que ele entrar,
11 Tell the owner of the house that the teacher asks, ‘Where is the room where I can eat the Passover meal with my disciples?’
11 e direis ao dono da casa: O Mestre pergunta-te: Onde está a sala em que comerei a Páscoa com os meus discípulos?
12 He will take you upstairs and show you a large furnished room. Get things ready there.”
12 Ele vos mostrará no andar superior uma grande sala mobiliada, e ali fazei os preparativos.
13 The disciples left. They found everything as Jesus had told them and prepared the Passover.
13 Foram, pois, e acharam tudo como Jesus lhes dissera; e prepararam a Páscoa.
14 When it was time to eat the Passover meal, Jesus and the apostles were at the table.
14 Chegada que foi a hora, Jesus pôs-se à mesa, e com ele os apóstolos.
15 Jesus said to them, “I’ve had a deep desire to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
15 Disse-lhes: Tenho desejado ardentemente comer convosco esta Páscoa, antes de sofrer.
16 I can guarantee that I won’t eat it again until it finds its fulfillment in God’s kingdom.”
16 Pois vos digo: não tornarei a comê-la, até que ela se cumpra no Reino de Deus.
17 Then he took a cup and spoke a prayer of thanksgiving. He said, “Take this, and share it.
17 Pegando o cálice, deu graças e disse: Tomai este cálice e distribuí-o entre vós.
18 I can guarantee that from now on I won’t drink this wine until God’s kingdom comes.”
18 Pois vos digo: já não tornarei a beber do fruto da videira, até que venha o Reino de Deus.
19 Then Jesus took bread and spoke a prayer of thanksgiving. He broke the bread, gave it to them, and said, “This is my body, which is given up for you. Do this to remember me.”
19 Tomou em seguida o pão e depois de ter dado graças, partiu-o e deu-lho, dizendo: Isto é o meu corpo, que é dado por vós; fazei isto em memória de mim.
20 When supper was over, he did the same with the cup. He said, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new promise made with my blood.”
20 Do mesmo modo tomou também o cálice, depois de cear, dizendo: Este cálice é a Nova Aliança em meu sangue, que é derramado por vós...
21 “The hand of the one who will betray me is with me on the table.
21 Entretanto, eis que a mão de quem me trai está à mesa comigo.
22 The Son of Man is going to die the way it has been planned for him. But how horrible it will be for that person who betrays him.”
22 O Filho do Homem vai, segundo o que está determinado, mas ai daquele homem por quem ele é traído!
23 So they began to discuss with each other who could do such a thing.
23 Perguntavam então os discípulos entre si quem deles seria o que tal haveria de fazer.
24 Then a quarrel broke out among the disciples. They argued about who should be considered the greatest.
24 Surgiu também entre eles uma discussão: qual deles seria o maior.
25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of nations have power over their people, and those in authority call themselves friends of the people.
25 E Jesus disse-lhes: Os reis dos pagãos dominam como senhores, e os que exercem sobre eles autoridade chamam-se benfeitores.
26 But you’re not going to be that way! Rather, the greatest among you must be like the youngest, and your leader must be like a servant.
26 Que não seja assim entre vós; mas o que entre vós é o maior, torne-se como o último; e o que governa seja como o servo.
27 Who’s the greatest, the person who sits at the table or the servant? Isn’t it really the person who sits at the table? But I’m among you as a servant.
27 Pois qual é o maior: o que está sentado à mesa ou o que serve? Não é aquele que está sentado à mesa? Todavia, eu estou no meio de vós, como aquele que serve.
28 “You have stood by me in the troubles that have tested me.
28 E vós tendes permanecido comigo nas minhas provações;
29 So as my Father has given me a kingdom, I’m giving it to you.
29 eu, pois, disponho do Reino a vosso favor, assim como meu Pai o dispôs a meu favor,
30 You will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. You will also sit on thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.”
30 para que comais e bebais à minha mesa no meu Reino e vos senteis em tronos, para julgar as doze tribos de Israel.
31 ⌞Then the Lord said,⌟ “Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has demanded to have you apostles for himself. He wants to separate you from me as a farmer separates wheat from husks.
31 Simão, Simão, eis que Satanás vos reclamou para vos peneirar como o trigo;
32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. So when you recover, strengthen the other disciples.”
32 mas eu roguei por ti, para que a tua confiança não desfaleça; e tu, por tua vez, confirma os teus irmãos.
33 But Peter said to him, “Lord, I’m ready to go to prison with you and to die with you.”
33 Pedro disse-lhe: Senhor, estou pronto a ir contigo tanto para a prisão como para a morte.
34 Jesus replied, “Peter, I can guarantee that the rooster won’t crow tonight until you say three times that you don’t know me.”
34 Jesus respondeu-lhe: Digo-te, Pedro, não cantará hoje o galo, até que três vezes hajas negado que me conheces.
35 Then Jesus said to them, “When I sent you out without a wallet, traveling bag, or sandals, you didn’t lack anything, did you?”
35 Depois ajuntou: Quando vos mandei sem bolsa, sem mochila e sem calçado, faltou-vos porventura alguma coisa? Eles responderam: Nada.
36 Then he said to them, “But now, the person who has a wallet and a traveling bag should take them along. The person who doesn’t have a sword should sell his coat and buy one.
36 Mas agora, disse-lhes ele, aquele que tem uma bolsa, tome-a; aquele que tem uma mochila, tome-a igualmente; e aquele que não tiver uma espada, venda sua capa para comprar uma.
37 I can guarantee that the Scripture passage which says, ‘He was counted with criminals,’ must find its fulfillment in me. Indeed, whatever is written about me will come true.”
37 Pois vos digo: é necessário que se cumpra em mim ainda este oráculo: E foi contado entre os malfeitores {Is 53,12}. Com efeito, aquilo que me diz respeito está próximo de se cumprir.
38 The disciples said, “Lord, look! Here are two swords!”
38 Eles replicaram: Senhor, eis aqui duas espadas. Basta, respondeu ele.
39 Jesus went out ⌞of the city⌟ to the Mount of Olives as he usually did. His disciples followed him.
39 Conforme o seu costume, Jesus saiu dali e dirigiu-se para o monte das Oliveiras, seguido dos seus discípulos.
40 When he arrived, he said to them, “Pray that you won’t be tempted.”
40 Ao chegar àquele lugar, disse-lhes: Orai para que não caiais em tentação.
41 Then he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,
41 Depois se afastou deles à distância de um tiro de pedra e, ajoelhando-se, orava:
42 “Father, if it is your will, take this cup ⌞of suffering⌟ away from me. However, your will must be done, not mine.”
42 Pai, se é de teu agrado, afasta de mim este cálice! Não se faça, todavia, a minha vontade, mas sim a tua.
43 Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.
43 Apareceu-lhe então um anjo do céu para confortá-lo.
44 So he prayed very hard in anguish. His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
44 Ele entrou em agonia e orava ainda com mais instância, e seu suor tornou-se como gotas de sangue a escorrer pela terra.
45 When Jesus ended his prayer, he got up and went to the disciples. He found them asleep and overcome with sadness.
45 Depois de ter rezado, levantou-se, foi ter com os discípulos e achou-os adormecidos de tristeza.
46 He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up, and pray that you won’t be tempted.”
46 Disse-lhes: Por que dormis? Levantai-vos, orai, para não cairdes em tentação.
47 While he was still speaking to the disciples, a crowd arrived. The man called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, was leading them. He came close to Jesus to kiss him.
47 Ele ainda falava, quando apareceu uma multidão de gente; e à testa deles vinha um dos Doze, que se chamava Judas. Achegou-se de Jesus para o beijar.
48 Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you intend to betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
48 Jesus perguntou-lhe: Judas, com um beijo trais o Filho do Homem!
49 The men who were with Jesus saw what was going to happen. So they asked him, “Lord, should we use our swords to fight?”
49 Os que estavam ao redor dele, vendo o que ia acontecer, perguntaram: Senhor, devemos atacá-los à espada?
50 One of the disciples cut off the right ear of the chief priest’s servant.
50 E um deles feriu o servo do príncipe dos sacerdotes, decepando-lhe a orelha direita.
51 But Jesus said, “Stop! That’s enough of this.” Then he touched the servant’s ear and healed him.
51 Mas Jesus interveio: Deixai, basta. E, tocando na orelha daquele homem, curou-o.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, temple guards, and leaders who had come for him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as if I were a criminal?
52 Voltando-se para os príncipes dos sacerdotes, para os oficiais do templo e para os anciãos que tinham vindo contra ele, disse-lhes: Saístes armados de espadas e cacetes, como se viésseis contra um ladrão.
53 I was with you in the temple courtyard every day and you didn’t try to arrest me. But this is your time, when darkness rules.”
53 Entretanto, eu estava todos os dias convosco no templo, e não estendestes as mãos contra mim; mas esta é a vossa hora e do poder das trevas.
54 So they arrested Jesus and led him away to the chief priest’s house.
54 Prenderam-no então e conduziram-no à casa do príncipe dos sacerdotes. Pedro seguia-o de longe.
55 Some men had lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard. As they sat together, Peter sat among them.
55 Acenderam um fogo no meio do pátio, e sentaram-se em redor. Pedro veio sentar-se com eles.
56 A female servant saw him as he sat facing the glow of the fire. She stared at him and said, “This man was with Jesus.”
56 Uma criada percebeu-o sentado junto ao fogo, encarou-o de perto e disse: Também este homem estava com ele.
57 But Peter denied it by saying, “I don’t know him, woman.”
57 Mas ele negou-o: Mulher, não o conheço.
58 A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You are one of them.”
58 Pouco depois, viu-o outro e disse-lhe: Também tu és um deles. Pedro respondeu: Não, eu não o sou.
59 About an hour later another person insisted, “It’s obvious that this man was with him. He’s a Galilean!”
59 Passada quase uma hora, afirmava um outro: Certamente também este homem estava com ele, pois também é galileu.
60 But Peter said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
60 Mas Pedro disse: Meu amigo, não sei o que queres dizer. E no mesmo instante, quando ainda falava, cantou o galo.
61 Then the Lord turned and looked directly at Peter. Peter remembered what the Lord had said: “Before a rooster crows today, you will say three times that you don’t know me.”
61 Voltando-se o Senhor, olhou para Pedro. Então Pedro se lembrou da palavra do Senhor: Hoje, antes que o galo cante, negar-me-ás três vezes.
62 Then Peter went outside and cried bitterly.
62 Saiu dali e chorou amargamente.
63 The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him as they beat him.
63 Entretanto, os homens que guardavam Jesus escarneciam dele e davam-lhe bofetadas.
64 They blindfolded him and said to him, “Tell us who hit you.”
64 Cobriam-lhe o rosto e diziam: Adivinha quem te bateu!
65 They also insulted him in many other ways.
65 E injuriavam-no ainda de outros modos.
66 In the morning the council of the people’s leaders, the chief priests and the experts in Moses’ Teachings, gathered together. They brought Jesus in front of their highest court and asked him,
66 Ao amanhecer, reuniram-se os anciãos do povo, os príncipes dos sacerdotes e os escribas, e mandaram trazer Jesus ao seu conselho.
67 “Tell us, are you the Messiah?”
67 Perguntaram-lhe: Dize-nos se és o Cristo! Respondeu-lhes ele: Se eu vo-lo disser, não me acreditareis;
68 And if I ask you, you won’t answer.
68 e se vos fizer qualquer pergunta, não me respondereis.
69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be in the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the heavenly throne.”
69 Mas, doravante, o Filho do Homem estará sentado à direita do poder de Deus.
70 Then all of them said, “So you’re the Son of God?”
70 Então perguntaram todos: Logo, tu és o Filho de Deus? Respondeu: Sim, eu sou.
71 Then they said, “Why do we need any more testimony? We’ve heard him say it ourselves.”
71 Eles então exclamaram: Temos nós ainda necessidade de testemunho? Nós mesmos o ouvimos da sua boca.
