1 Then the Jesus was led into the desert by the spirit, to be tempted by the accuser.
1 Em seguida, Jesus foi conduzido pelo Espírito ao deserto para ser tentado pelo demônio.
2 And fasting days forty and nights forty, after he was hungry.
2 Jejuou quarenta dias e quarenta noites. Depois, teve fome.
3 And coming to him the temper, said: If a son thou be of the God, speak, that the stones these loaves may become.
3 O tentador aproximou-se dele e lhe disse: Se és Filho de Deus, ordena que estas pedras se tornem pães.
4 He but answering said: It is written: Not by bread alone shall live a man; but by every word proceeding from mouth of God.
4 Jesus respondeu: Está escrito: Não só de pão vive o homem, mas de toda palavra que procede da boca de Deus {Dt 8,3}.
5 Then takes him the accuser into the holy city, and places him on the wing of the temple,
5 O demônio transportou-o à Cidade Santa, colocou-o no ponto mais alto do templo e disse-lhe:
6 and saying to him: if a son thou be of the God, cast thyself down; it is written for: That to the messengers of him he will give charge of thee; and on hands they shall raise thee, lest thou strikes against a stone the foot of thee.
6 Se és Filho de Deus, lança-te abaixo, pois está escrito: Ele deu a seus anjos ordens a teu respeito; proteger-te-ão com as mãos, com cuidado, para não machucares o teu pé em alguma pedra {Sl 90,11s}.
7 Said to him the Jesus: Again it is written: Not thou shalt put to the proof Lord the God of thee.
7 Disse-lhe Jesus: Também está escrito: Não tentarás o Senhor teu Deus {Dt 6,16}.
8 Again takes him the accuser into a mountain high exceedingly, and shows to him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them,
8 O demônio transportou-o uma vez mais, a um monte muito alto, e lhe mostrou todos os reinos do mundo e a sua glória, e disse-lhe:
9 and says to him: These all to thee I will give, if falling down thou wilt do homage to me.
9 Dar-te-ei tudo isto se, prostrando-te diante de mim, me adorares.
10 Then says to him the Jesus: Go thou behind of me, adversary; it is written for: Lord the God of thee thou shalt worship, and to him only thou shalt render service.
10 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Para trás, Satanás, pois está escrito: Adorarás o Senhor teu Deus, e só a ele servirás {Dt 6,13}.
11 Then leaves him the accuser; and lo, messengers came and ministered to him.
11 Em seguida, o demônio o deixou, e os anjos aproximaram-se dele para servi-lo.
12 Hearing now the Jesus, that John was delivered up, he withdrew into the Galilee.
12 Quando, pois, Jesus ouviu que João fora preso, retirou-se para a Galiléia.
13 And having left the Nazareth, coming dwelt at Capernaum the by the seaside, in borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim;
13 Deixando a cidade de Nazaré, foi habitar em Cafarnaum, à margem do lago, nos confins de Zabulon e Neftali,
14 that might be fulfilled the word spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying:
14 para que se cumprisse o que foi dito pelo profeta Isaías:
15 Land of Zabulon and land Nephthalim way of the sea by the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
15 A terra de Zabulon e de Neftali, região vizinha ao mar, a terra além do Jordão, a Galiléia dos gentios,
16 The people who are sitting in darkness saw a light great; and to those sitting in a region even a shade of death, a light has arisen to them.
16 este povo, que jazia nas trevas, viu resplandecer uma grande luz; e surgiu uma aurora para os que jaziam na região sombria da morte {Is 9,1}.
17 From that time began the Jesus to proclaim, and to say: Reform; has come nigh for the royal dignity of the heavens.
17 Desde então, Jesus começou a pregar: Fazei penitência, pois o Reino dos céus está próximo.
18 Walking and by the sea of the Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon the called Peter, and Andrew the brother of him, casting a fishingnet into the sea; they were for fishers.
18 Caminhando ao longo do mar da Galiléia, viu dois irmãos: Simão {chamado Pedro} e André, seu irmão, que lançavam a rede ao mar, pois eram pescadores.
19 And he says to them: Come behind of me, and I will make you fishers of men.
19 E disse-lhes: Vinde após mim e vos farei pescadores de homens.
20 They and immediately leaving the nets, followed him.
20 Na mesma hora abandonaram suas redes e o seguiram.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brothers, James the of the Zebedee and John the brother of him in the ship with Zebedee of the father of them, mending the nets of them; and called them.
21 Passando adiante, viu outros dois irmãos: Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e seu irmão João, que estavam com seu pai Zebedeu consertando as redes. Chamou-os,
22 They and forthwith leaving the ship and the father of them, followed him.
22 e eles abandonaram a barca e seu pai e o seguiram.
23 And went about all the Galilee the Jesus, teaching in the synagogues of them, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every malady among the people.
23 Jesus percorria toda a Galiléia, ensinando nas suas sinagogas, pregando o Evangelho do Reino, curando todas as doenças e enfermidades entre o povo.
24 And went the report of him into all the Syria; and they brought to him all the sick having, various diseases and torments seized with, and demoniacs, and lunaties, and paralytics; and he cured them.
24 Sua fama espalhou-se por toda a Síria: traziam-lhe os doentes e os enfermos, os possessos, os lunáticos, os paralíticos. E ele curava a todos.
25 And followed to him crowds great from the Galilee, and Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond of the Jordan.
25 Grandes multidões acompanharam-no da Galiléia, da Decápole, de Jerusalém, da Judéia e dos países do outro lado do Jordão.
