1 [A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before Jehovah.] Jehovah, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.
1 Senhor , ouve a minha oração, e chegue a ti o meu clamor.
2 Hide not thy face from me: in the day of my trouble, incline thine ear unto me; in the day I call, answer me speedily.
2 Não escondas de mim o teu rosto no dia da minha angústia; inclina para mim os teus ouvidos; no dia em que eu clamar, ouve-me depressa.
3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as a firebrand.
3 Porque os meus dias se consomem como fumaça, e os meus ossos ardem como lenha.
4 My heart is smitten and withered like grass; yea, I have forgotten to eat my bread.
4 O meu coração está ferido e seco como a erva, pelo que até me esqueço de comer o meu pão.
5 By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my flesh.
5 Já os meus ossos se pegam à minha pele, em virtude do meu gemer doloroso.
6 I am become like the pelican of the wilderness, I am as an owl in desolate places;
6 Sou semelhante ao pelicano no deserto; sou como um mocho nas solidões.
7 I watch, and am like a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
7 Velo e sou como o pardal solitário no telhado.
8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; they that are mad against me swear by me.
8 Os meus inimigos me afrontam todo o dia; os que contra mim se enfurecem me amaldiçoam.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
9 Pois tenho comido cinza como pão e misturado com lágrimas a minha bebida,
10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath; for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
10 por causa da tua ira e da tua indignação, pois tu me levantaste e me arremessaste.
11 My days are like a lengthened-out shadow, and I, I am withered like grass.
11 Os meus dias são como a sombra que declina, e como a erva me vou secando.
12 But thou, Jehovah, abidest for ever, and thy memorial from generation to generation.
12 Mas tu, Senhor , permanecerás para sempre, e a tua memória, de geração em geração.
13 *Thou* wilt rise up, thou wilt have mercy upon Zion: for it is the time to be gracious to her, for the set time is come.
13 Tu te levantarás e terás piedade de Sião; pois o tempo de te compadeceres dela, o tempo determinado, já chegou.
14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour her dust.
14 Porque os teus servos têm prazer nas suas pedras e se compadecem do seu pó.
15 And the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
15 Então, as nações temerão o nome do Senhor , e todos os reis da terra, a sua glória,
16 When Jehovah shall build up Zion, he will appear in his glory.
16 quando o Senhor edificar a Sião, e na sua glória se manifestar,
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute one, and not despise their prayer.
17 e atender à oração do desamparado, e não desprezar a sua oração.
18 This shall be written for the generation to come; and a people that shall be created shall praise Jah:
18 Isto se escreverá para a geração futura; e o povo que se criar louvará ao Senhor ,
19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from the heavens hath Jehovah beheld the earth,
19 porquanto olhara desde o alto do seu santuário; desde os céus, o Senhor observou a terra,
20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those that are appointed to die;
20 para ouvir o gemido dos presos, para soltar os sentenciados à morte;
21 That the name of Jehovah may be declared in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem,
21 a fim de que seja anunciado o nome do Senhor em Sião, e o seu louvor, em Jerusalém,
22 When the peoples shall be gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.
22 quando os povos todos se congregarem, e os reinos, para servirem ao Senhor .
23 He weakened my strength in the way, he shortened my days.
23 Abateu a minha força no caminho; abreviou os meus dias.
24 I said, My *God, take me not away in the midst of my days! ...Thy years are from generation to generation.
24 Dizia eu: Deus meu, não me leves no meio dos meus dias, tu, cujos anos alcançam todas as gerações.
25 Of old hast thou founded the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands:
25 Desde a antiguidade fundaste a terra; e os céus são obra das tuas mãos.
26 *They* shall perish, but *thou* continuest; and all of them shall grow old as a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.
26 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás; todos eles, como uma veste, envelhecerão; como roupa os mudarás, e ficarão mudados.
27 But thou art the Same, and thy years shall have no end.
27 Mas tu és o mesmo, e os teus anos nunca terão fim.
28 The children of thy servants shall abide, and their seed shall be established before thee.
28 Os filhos dos teus servos continuarão, e a sua descendência ficará firmada perante ti.
