1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
1 Então Bildade, da região de Sua, em resposta disse:
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
2 “Até quando você, Jó, vai falar assim? Até quando as suas palavras serão como um vento forte?
3 Doth *God pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
3 Será que Deus torceria a justiça? Será que o Todo-Poderoso faria o que não é direito?
4 If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
4 Decerto os seus filhos pecaram contra Deus, e ele os castigou como mereciam.
5 If thou seek earnestly unto *God, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
5 Agora volte para Deus e ore ao Todo-Poderoso.
6 If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
6 Se você é mesmo puro e honesto, Deus virá logo ajudá-lo e lhe dará de novo o lar que você merece.
7 And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
7 A riqueza que você perdeu não será nada comparada com o que Deus lhe dará depois.
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
8 “Faça perguntas aos nossos antepassados; aprenda com a experiência deles.
9 For we are {but} of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
9 Pois nós nascemos ontem e não sabemos nada; os nossos dias na terra passam como a sombra.
10 Shall not they teach thee, {and} tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
10 Deixe que os nossos antepassados falem a você e o ensinem. Da sua experiência eles dirão isto:
11 Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
11 ‘Será que a taboa pode crescer fora do brejo ou o
12 Whilst it is yet in its greenness {and} not cut down, it withereth before any {other} grass.
12 Verdes ainda e mesmo sem serem cortados, eles secam antes das outras ervas.
13 So are the paths of all that forget *God; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
13 Assim acontece com os que esquecem de Deus; assim dá em nada a esperança dos maus.
14 Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
14 A segurança deles é um fio de linha; a sua confiança é como uma teia de aranha.
15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
15 Eles se apoiam na teia, mas ela não aguenta; agarram o fio, mas não conseguem ficar de pé.’
16 He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
16 “Os maus crescem como ervas ao sol que se espalham pelo jardim.
17 His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
17 As suas raízes se enroscam nas pedras, se agarram nas rochas,
18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
18 mas, se alguém as arranca, ninguém vai nem saber que estiveram naquele lugar.
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
19 É nisso que dá a vida alegre dos maus; chegam outras pessoas e tomam o lugar deles.
20 Behold, *God will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
20 “Esteja certo de que Deus não abandona as pessoas honestas, nem dá a mão para ajudar os maus.
21 Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
21 Ele fará você rir de novo e dar gritos de alegria;
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
22 mas os seus inimigos vão viver na confusão, e as casas dos maus serão destruídas.”
