1 Now, my brothers, I want to bring the good news to your minds again. I told it to you and you received it. You now believe it.
1 Irmãos, quero lembrar-lhes o evangelho que lhes preguei, o qual vocês receberam e no qual estão firmes.
2 You are saved by it, if you hold on to what I told you. If you do not, then you have believed for nothing.
2 Por meio deste evangelho vocês são salvos, desde que se apeguem firmemente à palavra que lhes preguei; caso contrário, vocês têm crido em vão.
3 I told you first what was told to me. I told you that Christ died for the wrong things we did, as the holy writings said.
3 Pois o que primeiramente lhes transmiti foi o que recebi: que Cristo morreu pelos nossos pecados, segundo as Escrituras,
4 He was buried. He was raised on the third day, as the holy writings said.
4 foi sepultado e ressuscitou ao terceiro dia, segundo as Escrituras,
5 Peter saw him, and then all the twelve disciples saw him.
5 e apareceu a Pedro e depois aos Doze.
6 After that, more than five hundred Christian brothers saw him at one time. Most of them are still living, but some have died.
6 Depois disso apareceu a mais de quinhentos irmãos de uma só vez, a maioria dos quais ainda vive, embora alguns já tenham adormecido.
7 After that, James saw him. Then all the apostles saw him.
7 Depois apareceu a Tiago e, então, a todos os apóstolos;
8 Last of all, I saw him too. I was like one who was born at the wrong time.
8 depois destes apareceu também a mim, como a um que nasceu fora de tempo.
9 The other apostles are all greater than I am. I should not be called an apostle because I troubled the people of Gods church.
9 Pois sou o menor dos apóstolos e nem sequer mereço ser chamado apóstolo, porque persegui a igreja de Deus.
10 But God has been kind to me. He has made me what I am today. And he did not bless me for nothing. I did more work than any of them. Yet it was not I, but the loving kindness of God was working with me.
10 Mas, pela graça de Deus, sou o que sou, e sua graça para comigo não foi em vão; antes, trabalhei mais do que todos eles; contudo, não eu, mas a graça de Deus comigo.
11 So it does not matter who gave the message, they or I. This is the message we gave, and this is the message you believed.
11 Portanto, quer tenha sido eu, quer tenham sido eles, é isto que pregamos, e é isto que vocês creram.
12 You have been told that Christ was raised from death. How can some of you say that dead people do not rise again?
12 Ora, se está sendo pregado que Cristo ressuscitou dentre os mortos, como alguns de vocês estão dizendo que não existe ressurreição dos mortos?
13 If dead people do not rise, Christ did not rise.
13 Se não há ressurreição dos mortos, então nem mesmo Cristo ressuscitou;
14 And if Christ did not rise, then what we told you was not true, and what you believe is not true.
14 e, se Cristo não ressuscitou, é inútil a nossa pregação, como também é inútil a fé que vocês têm.
15 If this were so, we would have been telling lies about God, because we said that God raised up Christ. He did not raise up Christ if dead people are not raised up.
15 Mais que isso, seremos considerados falsas testemunhas de Deus, pois contra ele testemunhamos que ressuscitou a Cristo dentre os mortos. Mas se de fato os mortos não ressuscitam, ele também não ressuscitou a Cristo.
16 If dead people are not raised, then Christ was not raised either.
16 Pois, se os mortos não ressuscitam, nem mesmo Cristo ressuscitou.
17 If Christ was not raised, then what you believe is no good. Your wrong ways have not been forgiven.
17 E, se Cristo não ressuscitou, inútil é a fé que vocês têm, e ainda estão em seus pecados.
18 If that were true, then the people who believed in Christ who have now died, are lost.
18 Neste caso, também os que dormiram em Cristo estão perdidos.
19 And if we have hope in Christ for our life in this world only, then we are the most unhappy of all people.
19 Se é somente para esta vida que temos esperança em Cristo, dentre todos os homens somos os mais dignos de compaixão.
20 But Christ really has been raised from death. He was the first one to rise of all who have died.
20 Mas de fato Cristo ressuscitou dentre os mortos, sendo as primícias dentre aqueles que dormiram.
21 It was a man who first brought death. So it was also a man who was first raised from death.
21 Visto que a morte veio por meio de um só homem, também a ressurreição dos mortos veio por meio de um só homem.
22 All people who are of Adam die. And so also, all people who belong to Christ will live.
22 Pois da mesma forma como em Adão todos morrem, em Cristo todos serão vivificados.
23 But each one has his turn. Christ rose first. Then those who belong to Christ will rise when he comes again.
23 Mas cada um por sua vez: Cristo, o primeiro; depois, quando ele vier, os que lhe pertencem.
24 After that the end will come. Christ will hand over the ruling power to God the Father. Christ will stop all other rulers, and everyone who has any rights and power.
24 Então virá o fim, quando ele entregar o Reino a Deus, o Pai, depois de ter destruído todo domínio, autoridade e poder.
25 Christ must rule until God has all power over all his enemies.
25 Pois é necessário que ele reine até que todos os seus inimigos sejam postos debaixo de seus pés.
26 Death is the last enemy to be destroyed.
26 O último inimigo a ser destruído é a morte.
27 The holy writings say, God has put all things under Christ. But it does not mean that God is under Christ. God is the one who put all things under him.
27 Porque ele "tudo sujeitou debaixo de seus pés". Ora, quando se diz que "tudo" lhe foi sujeito, fica claro que isso não inclui o próprio Deus, que tudo submeteu a Cristo.
28 One day the Son will be over all things. And God will be over the Son. So in the end God will be over all things.
28 Quando, porém, tudo lhe estiver sujeito, então o próprio Filho se sujeitará àquele que todas as coisas lhe sujeitou, a fim de que Deus seja tudo em todos.
29 Another thing, what good is it for people to be baptized for dead people? If dead people are not raised, why are some people baptized for them?
29 Se não há ressurreição, que farão aqueles que se batizam pelos mortos? Se absolutamente os mortos não ressuscitam, por que se batizam por eles?
30 And why are we in trouble all the time?
30 Também nós, por que estamos nos expondo a perigos o tempo todo?
31 I face death every day! That is true. Just the way it is true that I am proud of you, my brothers. I am proud that you belong to Christ Jesus.
31 Todos os dias enfrento a morte, irmãos; isso digo pelo orgulho que tenho de vocês em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.
32 I fought against wild animals at Ephesus. If I was thinking only of life on earth, why did I do this? If dead people do not rise, then we might just as well say, Let us eat and drink because we will die tomorrow.
32 Se foi por meras razões humanas que lutei com feras em Éfeso, que ganhei com isso? Se os mortos não ressuscitam, "comamos e bebamos, porque amanhã morreremos".
33 Do not be fooled. If good people keep company with bad people, the good people will become bad too.
33 Não se deixem enganar: "as más companhias corrompem os bons costumes".
34 Wake up! Do what is right. Stop doing wrong things. Some of you do not know God at all. I say these things to you to make you ashamed.
34 Como justos, recuperem o bom senso e parem de pecar; pois alguns há que não têm conhecimento de Deus; digo isso para vergonha de vocês.
35 But someone will ask, How can dead people be raised? What kind of body will they have when they come back from death?
35 Mas alguém pode perguntar: "Como ressuscitam os mortos? Com que espécie de corpo virão? "
36 What foolish questions! The seed you put in the ground must die before it can come to life.
36 Insensato! O que você semeia não nasce a não ser que morra.
37 You do not put a grown-up plant in the ground. You put in a seed, such as corn, wheat, rice, or something like that.
37 Quando você semeia, não semeia o corpo que virá a ser, mas apenas uma simples semente, como de trigo ou de alguma outra coisa.
38 God gives the seed the body he wants it to have. He gives a different kind of body to every kind of seed.
38 Mas Deus lhe dá um corpo, como determinou, e a cada espécie de semente dá seu corpo apropriado.
39 Not all living bodies are alike. People have one kind of body. Animals have another kind of body. Fish another kind of body. Birds have another kind.
39 Nem toda carne é a mesma: os homens têm uma espécie de carne, os animais têm outra, as aves outra, e os peixes outra.
40 So too, there are bodies for the sky and bodies for the earth. The bodies for the sky are fine in one way, and the bodies for the earth are fine in another way. They are not alike.
40 Há corpos celestes e há também corpos terrestres; mas o esplendor dos corpos celestes é um, e o dos corpos terrestres é outro.
41 The sun is fine in one way. The moon is fine in another way. The stars are fine in still another way. And one star is fine in a different way from another star.
41 Um é o esplendor do sol, outro o da lua, e outro o das estrelas; e as estrelas diferem em esplendor umas das outras.
42 So it is with the body that is raised from death. When it is put in the ground it is a body that dies. When it rises from death, it will never die again.
42 Assim será com a ressurreição dos mortos. O corpo que é semeado é perecível e ressuscita imperecível;
43 When it is put in the ground, it is not fine. When it rises, it is very fine. When it is put in the ground it has no strength. When it rises it is strong.
43 é semeado em desonra e ressuscita em glória; é semeado em fraqueza e ressuscita em poder;
44 When it is put in the ground it is only a body for this world. When it rises it is a body for the spirit. If there is a body for this world, then there is also a body for the spirit.
44 é semeado um corpo natural e ressuscita um corpo espiritual. Se há corpo natural, há também corpo espiritual.
45 The holy writings say, The first man, Adam, was of this world! The last Adam
45 Assim está escrito: "O primeiro homem, Adão, tornou-se um ser vivente"; o último Adão, espírito vivificante.
46 The body for the spirit does not come first. The body for this world comes first. Then comes the body for the spirit.
46 Não foi o espiritual que veio antes, mas o natural; depois dele, o espiritual.
47 The first man came from earth. He was made from the dust of the earth. The second Adam is the Lord from heaven.
47 O primeiro homem era do pó da terra; o segundo homem, do céu.
48 Those who are made of earth are like the man made of dust. Those who are for heaven are like the man from heaven.
48 Os que são da terra são semelhantes ao homem terreno; os que são do céu, ao homem celestial.
49 We were made like the man of dust but we shall look like the man from heaven.
49 Assim como tivemos a imagem do homem terreno, teremos também a imagem do homem celestial.
50 Now I tell you, my brothers, our bodies of flesh and blood can have no place in the kingdom where God rules. A body which will die can have no room in the kingdom of God where people will never die. 51,
50 Irmãos, eu lhes declaro que carne e sangue não podem herdar o Reino de Deus, nem o que é perecível pode herdar o imperecível.
51 Listen! I tell you a secret. We will not all die, but we will all be changed. It will happen very quickly, as fast as one can shut his eyes. It will be when the trumpet or horn is blown the last time. Someone will blow the trumpet, dead people will rise, and they will never die again. We ourselves will be changed.
51 Eis que eu lhes digo um mistério: nem todos dormiremos, mas todos seremos transformados,
52 This body which dies must become a body which will never die.
52 num momento, num abrir e fechar de olhos, ao som da última trombeta. Pois a trombeta soará, os mortos ressuscitarão incorruptíveis e nós seremos transformados.
53 When this body which dies becomes one which will never die, what the holy writings say comes true. It says, Death is overcome by victory.
53 Pois é necessário que aquilo que é corruptível se revista de incorruptibilidade, e aquilo que é mortal, se revista de imortalidade.
54 Death, you have lost the battle. Death, your power to hurt us is gone.
54 Quando, porém, o que é corruptível se revestir de incorruptibilidade, e o que é mortal, de imortalidade, então se cumprirá a palavra que está escrita: "A morte foi destruída pela vitória".
55 Death hurts us because we are bad people. And our wrong ways are so strong because of the law.
55 "Onde está, ó morte, a sua vitória? Onde está, ó morte, o seu aguilhão? "
56 But I thank God that he gives us power to stop being wrong through our Lord Jesus Christ.
56 O aguilhão da morte é o pecado, e a força do pecado é a lei.
57 So, my dear brothers, stand strong. Do not be moved from what you believe. Work hard for the Lord. You know that your work for the Lord will not be for nothing.
57 Mas graças a Deus, que nos dá a vitória por meio de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

58 Portanto, meus amados irmãos, mantenham-se firmes, e que nada os abale. Sejam sempre dedicados à obra do Senhor, pois vocês sabem que, no Senhor, o trabalho de vocês não será inútil.
