Salmos 91

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
1 Aquele que habita no abrigo do Altíssimo encontrará descanso à sombra do Todo-poderoso.
2 I will say of LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
2 Isto eu declaro a respeito do S enhor : ele é meu refúgio, meu lugar seguro, ele é meu Deus e nele confio.
3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.
3 Pois ele o livrará das armadilhas da vida e o protegerá de doenças mortais.
4 He will cover thee with his pinions, and under his wings shall thou take refuge. His truth is a shield and a buckler.
4 Ele o cobrirá com as suas penas e o abrigará sob as suas asas; a sua fidelidade é armadura e proteção.
5 Thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,
5 Não tenha medo dos terrores da noite, nem da flecha que voa durante o dia.
6 for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
6 Não tema a praga que se aproxima na escuridão, nem a calamidade que devasta ao meio-dia.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, [but] it shall not come near thee.
7 Ainda que mil caiam ao seu lado e dez mil morram ao seu redor, você não será atingido.
8 Thou shall only behold with thine eyes, and see the reward of the wicked.
8 Basta abrir os olhos, e verá como são castigados os perversos.
9 For thou, O LORD, are my refuge! Thou have made the Most High thy habitation.
9 Se você se refugiar no S enhor , se fizer do Altíssimo seu abrigo,
10 There shall no evil befall thee, nor shall any plague come near thy tent,
10 nenhum mal o atingirá, nenhuma praga se aproximará de sua casa.
11 for he will give his [heavenly] agents charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
11 Pois ele ordenará a seus anjos que o protejam aonde quer que você vá.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 Eles o sustentarão com as mãos, para que não machuque o pé em alguma pedra.
13 Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder. The young lion and the serpent thou shall trample under foot.
13 Você pisará leões e cobras, esmagará leões ferozes e serpentes debaixo dos pés.
14 Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.
14 O S enhor diz: “Livrarei aquele que me ama, protegerei o que confia em meu nome.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
15 Quando clamar por mim, eu responderei e estarei com ele em meio às dificuldades; eu o resgatarei e lhe darei honra.
16 I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.
16 Com vida longa o recompensarei e lhe darei minha salvação”.
