1 Whi gnastiden with teeth hethene men; and puplis thouyten veyn thingis?
1 Por que os pagãos se irritam, e os povos imaginam coisas vãs?
2 The kyngis of erthe stoden togidere; and princes camen togidere ayens the Lord, and ayens his Crist?
2 Os reis da terra se posicionam, e os governantes tomam conselhos juntos, contra o SENHOR e contra o seu Ungido, dizendo:
3 Breke we the bondis of hem; and cast we awei the yok of hem fro vs.
3 Rompamos as suas ataduras em partes, e lancemos longe de nós as suas cordas.
4 He that dwellith in heuenes schal scorne hem; and the Lord schal bimowe hem.
4 Aquele que se assenta nos céus se rirá; o Senhor os terá em escárnio.
5 Thanne he schal speke to hem in his ire; and he schal disturble hem in his stronge veniaunce.
5 Então lhes falará na sua ira, e os aborrecerá no seu desgosto pesaroso.
6 Forsothe Y am maad of hym a kyng on Syon, his hooli hil; prechynge his comaundement.
6 Contudo, pus meu rei sobre o meu santo monte de Sião.
7 The Lord seide to me, Thou art my sone; Y haue gendrid thee to dai.
7 Eu declararei o decreto; o SENHOR me disse: Tu és meu Filho; neste dia eu te gerei.
8 Axe thou of me, and Y schal yyue to thee hethene men thin eritage; and thi possessioun the termes of erthe.
8 Pede-me, e eu te darei os pagãos por tua herança, e as partes extremas da terra por tua possessão.
9 Thou schalt gouerne hem in an yrun yerde; and thou schalt breke hem as the vessel of a pottere.
9 Tu os quebrarás com uma vara de ferro; tu os arrebentarás em pedaços como a um vaso de oleiro.
10 And now, ye kyngis, vndurstonde; ye that demen the erthe, be lerud.
10 Agora, portanto, ó reis, sede sábios; sede instruídos, vós juízes da terra.
11 Serue ye the Lord with drede; and make ye ful ioye to hym with tremblyng.
11 Servi ao SENHOR com temor, e regozijai-vos com tremor.
12 Take ye lore; lest the Lord be wrooth sumtyme, and lest ye perischen fro iust waie.
12 Beijai o Filho, para que ele não se ire, e pereçais no caminho, porque em breve sua ira se inflamará. Abençoados são todos aqueles que põem sua confiança nele.
13 Whanne his `ire brenneth out in schort tyme; blessed ben alle thei, that tristen in hym.
