1 And anone in ye dawnynge the hye prestes helde counsell wt ye elders and ye scribes and ye whoole cogregacion and bounde Iesus and ledde him awaye and delivered him to Pilate.
1 Assim que amanheceu, os chefes dos sacerdotes se reuniram com os líderes dos judeus, e com os mestres da Lei, e com todo o Conselho Superior e fizeram os seus planos. Eles amarraram Jesus, e o levaram, e entregaram a Pilatos.
2 And Pilate axed him: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes? And he answered and sayde vnto him: thou sayest it.
2 Pilatos perguntou: — Você é o rei dos judeus?
3 And the hye prestes accused him of many thinges.
3 E os chefes dos sacerdotes faziam muitas acusações contra ele.
4 Wherfore Pilate axed him agayne sayinge: Answerest thou nothinge? Beholde how many thinges they lay vnto thy charge.
4 Então Pilatos fez outra pergunta: — Você não vai responder? Veja quantas acusações estão fazendo contra você!
5 Iesus yet answered never aworde so that Pilate merveled.
5 Porém Jesus não disse mais nada, e Pilatos ficou muito admirado com isso.
6 At that feast Pilate was wont to delivre at their pleasure a presoner: whomsoever they wolde desyre.
6 Em toda Festa da Páscoa , o Governador costumava soltar um dos presos, a pedido do povo.
7 And ther was one named Barrabas which laye bounde with the that made insurreccion and in the insurreccion comitted murther.
7 Naquela ocasião um homem chamado Barrabás estava preso na cadeia junto com alguns homens que tinham matado algumas pessoas numa revolta.
8 And ye people called vnto him and began to desyre accordinge as he had ever done vnto them.
8 A multidão veio e começou a pedir que, como era o costume, Pilatos soltasse um preso.
9 Pylate answered them and sayd: Will ye that I lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes?
9 Então ele perguntou: — Vocês querem que eu solte para vocês o rei dos judeus?
10 For he knewe that the hye Prestes had delyvered him of envy.
10 Ele sabia muito bem que os chefes dos sacerdotes tinham inveja de Jesus e que era por isso que o haviam entregado a ele.
11 But the hye prestes had moved the people that he shuld rather delyvre Barrabas vnto them.
11 Mas os chefes dos sacerdotes atiçaram o povo para que pedisse a Pilatos que, em vez de soltar Jesus, ele soltasse Barrabás.
12 And Pylate answered agayne and sayd vnto the: What will ye then that I do wt him whom ye call ye kynge of ye Iewes?
12 Pilatos falou outra vez com o povo. Ele perguntou: — O que vocês querem que eu faça com este homem que vocês chamam de rei dos judeus?
13 And they cryed agayne: crucifie him.
13 E eles gritaram: — Crucifica!
14 Pylate sayde vnto them: What evell hath he done? And they cryed ye moore fervently: crucifie him.
14 — Que crime ele cometeu? — perguntou Pilatos. Mas eles gritaram ainda mais alto: — Crucifica! Crucifica!
15 And so Pylate willinge to content the people lowsed them Barrabas and delyvered Iesus when he had scourged him for to be crucified.
15 Então Pilatos, querendo agradar o povo, soltou Barrabás, como eles haviam pedido. Depois mandou chicotear Jesus e o entregou para ser crucificado.
16 And the souddeers ledde him awaye into ye commen hall and called togedder the whoole multitude
16 Aí os soldados levaram Jesus para o pátio interno do Palácio do Governador e reuniram toda a tropa.
17 and they clothed him with purple and they platted a croune of thornes and crouned him with all
17 Depois vestiram em Jesus uma capa vermelha e puseram na cabeça dele uma coroa feita de ramos cheios de espinhos.
18 and beganne to salute him. Hayle kynge of the Iewes.
18 E começaram a saudá-lo, dizendo: — Viva o Rei dos Judeus!
19 And they smoote him on the heed wt a rede and spat apon him and kneled doune and worsheped him.
19 Batiam na cabeça dele com um bastão, cuspiam nele e se ajoelhavam, fingindo que o estavam adorando.
20 And when they had moocked him they toke the purple of him and put his awne cloothes on him and ledde him oute to crucifie him.
20 Depois de terem caçoado dele, tiraram a capa vermelha e o vestiram com as suas próprias roupas. Em seguida o levaram para fora a fim de o crucificarem.
21 And they compelled one that passed by called Symon of Cyrene (which cam oute of the felde and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to beare his crosse.
21 No caminho, os soldados encontraram um homem chamado Simão, que vinha do campo para a cidade. Esse Simão, o pai de Alexandre e Rufo, era da cidade de Cirene. Os soldados obrigaram Simão a carregar a cruz de Jesus
22 And they brought him to a place named Golgotha (which is by interpretacion the place of deed mens scoulles)
22 e levaram Jesus para um lugar chamado Gólgota. (Gólgota quer dizer “Lugar da Caveira”.)
23 and they gave him to drinke wyne myngled with myrte but he receaved it not.
23 Queriam dar a ele vinho misturado com um calmante chamado mirra , mas ele não bebeu.
24 And when they had crucified him they parted his garmentes castinge loottes for them what every man shulde have.
24 Em seguida os soldados o crucificaram e repartiram as suas roupas entre si, tirando a sorte com dados, para ver qual seria a parte de cada um.
25 And it was aboute ye thyrde houre and they crucified him.
25 Eram nove horas da manhã quando crucificaram Jesus.
26 And the tytle of his cause was wrytten: The kynge of the Iewes.
26 Puseram em cima da cruz uma tabuleta onde estava escrito como acusação contra ele: “O Rei dos Judeus”.
27 And they crucified with him two theves: the one on the ryght honde and the other on his lyfte.
27 Com Jesus, crucificaram também dois ladrões: um à sua direita e o outro à sua esquerda.
28 And the scripture was fulfilled which sayeth: he was counted amonge the wicked.
28 [Assim se cumpriu o que as Escrituras Sagradas dizem: “Ele foi tratado como se fosse um criminoso.”]
29 And they that went by rayled on him: waggynge their heedes and sayinge: A wretche that destroyest the temple and byldest it in thre dayes:
29 Os que passavam por ali caçoavam dele, balançavam a cabeça e o insultavam assim: — Ei, você que disse que era capaz de destruir o Templo e tornar a construí-lo em três dias!
30 save thy sylfe and come doune from the crosse.
30 Pois desça da cruz e salve-se a si mesmo!
31 Lyke wyse also mocked him ye hye preestes amonge them selves with the scribes and sayde: He saved other men him sylfe he cannot save.
31 Os chefes dos sacerdotes e os mestres da Lei também caçoavam dele, dizendo: — Ele salvou os outros, mas não pode salvar a si mesmo!
32 Let Christ the kynge of Israel now descende from the crosse that we maye se and beleve. And they that were crucified with him checked him also.
32 Vamos ver o Messias , o Rei de Israel, descer agora da cruz e então creremos nele! E os ladrões que foram crucificados com Jesus também o insultavam.
33 And when the sixte houre was come darknes aroose over all the erth vntyll ye nynthe houre.
33 Ao meio-dia começou a escurecer, e toda a terra ficou três horas na escuridão.
34 And at the nynthe houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce sayinge: Eloi Eloi lamaasbathani which is yf it be interpreted: my God my God why hast thou forsaken me?
34 Às três horas da tarde Jesus gritou bem alto:
35 And some of them that stode by when they hearde yt sayde: beholde he calleth for Helyas
35 Algumas pessoas que estavam ali ouviram isso e disseram: — Escutem! Ele está chamando Elias!
36 And one ran and filled a sponge full of veneger and put it on a rede and gave him to drinke sayinge: let him alone let vs se whether Helyas will come and take him doune.
36 Alguém correu e molhou uma esponja em vinho comum, pôs na ponta de um bastão, deu para Jesus beber e disse: — Esperem! Vamos ver se Elias vem tirá-lo da cruz!
37 But Iesus cryed with aloude voyce and gave vp the gooste.
37 Aí Jesus deu um grito forte e morreu.
38 And the vayle of the temple dyd rent in two peces from the toppe to the boottome.
38 Então a cortina do Templo se rasgou em dois pedaços, de cima até embaixo.
39 And when the Centurion which stode before him sawe that he so cryed and gave vp the gooste he sayd: truly this man was the sonne of God.
39 O oficial do exército romano que estava em frente da cruz, vendo Jesus morrer daquele modo, disse: — De fato, este homem era o Filho de Deus!
40 Ther were also wemen a good waye of beholdinge him: amonge whom was Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of Iames the lytle and of Ioses and Mary Salome
40 Algumas mulheres também estavam ali, olhando de longe. Entre elas estavam Maria Madalena, Salomé e Maria, que era mãe de José e de Tiago, o mais moço.
41 which also when he was in Galile folowed him and ministred vnto him and many other wemen which came vp with him to Hierusalem.
41 Essas mulheres tinham acompanhado e ajudado Jesus quando ele estava na Galileia. Além dessas, estavam ali muitas outras mulheres que tinham ido com ele para Jerusalém.
42 And now when nyght was come (because it was ye even that goeth before ye saboth)
42 — ausente —
43 Ioseph of Arimathia a noble councelour which also loked for ye kyngdome of God came and went in booldly vnto Pylate and begged ye boddy of Iesu.
43 — ausente —
44 And Pylate merveled that he was alredy deed and called vnto him ye Centurion and axed of him whether he had bene eny whyle deed.
44 Pilatos ficou admirado quando soube que Jesus já estava morto. Chamou o oficial romano e perguntou se fazia muito tempo que Jesus tinha morrido.
45 And when he knewe the trueth of the Centurion he gave ye body to Ioseph.
45 Depois de receber a informação do oficial, Pilatos entregou a José o corpo de Jesus.
46 And he bought a lynnen cloothe and toke him doune and wrapped him in ye lynnen cloothe and layde him in a tombe yt was hewen oute of ye rocke and rolled a stone vnto the doze of the sepulcre.
46 José comprou um lençol de linho, tirou o corpo da cruz e o enrolou no lençol. Em seguida pôs o corpo num túmulo cavado na rocha e rolou uma grande pedra para fechar a entrada do túmulo.
47 And Mary Magdalen and Mary Ioses beheld where he was layde.
47 Maria Madalena e Maria, a mãe de José, estavam olhando e viram onde o corpo de Jesus foi colocado.
