¹ It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praise to your name, O Most High,

¹ Bom é render graças ao Senhor e cantar louvores ao teu nome, ó Altíssimo,

² to declare your love in the morning, and your faithfulness in the night,

² anunciar de manhã a tua misericórdia e, durante as noites, a tua fidelidade,

³ with voice and a ten-stringed harp, with music that throbs on the lyre.

³ com instrumentos de dez cordas, com saltério e com a solenidade da harpa.

⁴ For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord, at the work of your hands I will ring out my joy.

⁴ Pois me alegraste, Senhor , com os teus feitos; exultarei nas obras das tuas mãos.

⁵ How great are your works, O Lord; how deep are your thoughts!

⁵ Quão grandes, Senhor , são as tuas obras! Os teus pensamentos, que profundos!

⁶ The insensitive cannot know, nor can a fool understand,

⁶ O inepto não compreende, e o estulto não percebe isto:

⁷ that, though the wicked flourish like grass, and evil-doers all blossom, they will perish forever.

⁷ ainda que os ímpios brotam como a erva, e florescem todos os que praticam a iniquidade, nada obstante, serão destruídos para sempre;

⁸ But you are exalted forever.

⁸ tu, porém, Senhor , és o Altíssimo eternamente.

⁹ For see! Your enemies, Lord For see! Your enemies perish, all evil-doers are scattered.

⁹ Eis que os teus inimigos, Senhor , eis que os teus inimigos perecerão; serão dispersos todos os que praticam a iniquidade.

¹⁰ But you lift me to honour, and anoint me afresh with oil.

¹⁰ Porém tu exaltas o meu poder como o do boi selvagem; derramas sobre mim o óleo fresco.

¹¹ My eyes will feast on my foes, and my ears will hear of the doom of the wicked.

¹¹ Os meus olhos veem com alegria os inimigos que me espreitam, e os meus ouvidos se satisfazem em ouvir dos malfeitores que contra mim se levantam.

¹² The righteous will sprout like the palm, will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.

¹² O justo florescerá como a palmeira, crescerá como o cedro no Líbano.

¹³ In the house of the Lord are they planted, in the courts of our God they will sprout.

¹³ Plantados na Casa do Senhor , florescerão nos átrios do nosso Deus.

¹⁴ They will still bear fruit in old age, all sappy and fresh will they be

¹⁴ Na velhice darão ainda frutos, serão cheios de seiva e de verdor,

¹⁵ So they proclaim the Lord to be just, my rock, in whom is no wrong.
