1 Give the king, O God, your own spirit of justice your spirit of right to the son of the king,
1 Ó Deus, dá ao rei os teus juízes, e a tua justiça ao filho do rei.
2 that with right he may judge your people, and your downtrodden ones with justice.
2 Julgue ele o teu povo com justiça, e os teus pobres com eqüidade.
3 May the mountains bear weal for the people, and the hills yield fruits of justice.
3 Que os montes tragam paz ao povo, como também os outeiros, com justiça.
4 The weak may he help to their rights, may he save the sons of the needy and crush the oppressor in pieces.
4 Julgue ele os aflitos do povo, salve os filhos do necessitado, e esmague o opressor.
5 May he live as long as the sun, while the moon shines — for ages and ages.
5 Viva ele enquanto existir o sol, e enquanto durar a lua, por todas as gerações.
6 May he be like the rain on the meadow, like showers that water the earth.
6 Desça como a chuva sobre o prado, como os chuveiros que regam a terra.
7 In his days may justice flourish, and welfare abound, till the moon be no more.
7 Nos seus dias floresça a justiça, e haja abundância de paz enquanto durar a lua.
8 May he reign from ocean to ocean, from the river to the ends of the earth.
8 Domine de mar a mar, e desde o Rio até as extremidades da terra.
9 May his foes bow down before him, his enemies lick the dust.
9 Inclinem-se diante dele os seus adversários, e os seus inimigos lambam o pó.
10 May tribute be rendered by kings of the isles and of Tarshish; may gifts be brought by the kings of Sheba and Seba.
10 Paguem-lhe tributo os reis de Társis e das ilhas; os reis de Sabá e de Seba ofereçam-lhe dons.
11 May all kings fall prostrate before him, and all nations yield him their service.
11 Todos os reis se prostrem perante ele; todas as nações o sirvam.
12 For he saves the poor when he cries, the helpless and the downtrodden.
12 Porque ele livra ao necessitado quando clama, como também ao aflito e ao que não tem quem o ajude.
13 He pities the weak and the poor, he saves the lives of the poor.
13 Compadece-se do pobre e do necessitado, e a vida dos necessitados ele salva.
14 He redeems them from wrong and from violence, for dear is their blood in his sight.
14 Ele os liberta da opressão e da violência, e precioso aos seus olhos é o sangue deles.
15 Long may he live; and may gold of Sheba be given him; prayer, too, be made for him ceaselessly, all the day long may men bless him.
15 Viva, pois, ele; e se lhe dê do ouro de Sabá; e continuamente se faça por ele oração, e o bendigam em todo o tempo.
16 May the land have abundance of corn, to the tops of the hills may it wave. May the fruit thereof flourish like Lebanon, may men spring from the city like grass of the earth.
16 Haja abundância de trigo na terra sobre os cumes dos montes; ondule o seu fruto como o Líbano, e das cidades floresçam homens como a erva da terra.
17 May his name be blessed forever, may his fame endure as the sun. May all nations envy his blessedness, all tribes of the earth call him happy.
17 Permaneça o seu nome eternamente; continue a sua fama enquanto o sol durar, e os homens sejam abençoados nele; todas as nações o chamem bem-aventurado.
18 Blest be the Lord God, Israel’s God, who alone does wonders;
18 Bendito seja o Senhor Deus, o Deus de Israel, o único que faz maravilhas.
19 And blest be forever his glorious name. Let all the earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
19 Bendito seja para sempre o seu nome glorioso, e encha-se da sua glória toda a terra. Amém e amém.
