¹ A maskil. A song of love. My heart is moved with a good word; I recite my ⌞compositions⌟ to the king. My tongue is the pen of a skilled scribe.

¹ O meu coração trasborda de boas palavras; dirijo os meus versos ao rei; a minha língua é qual pena de um hábil escriba.

² You are the most handsome of the sons of humankind; grace is poured out on your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.

² Tu és o mais formoso dos filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou nos teus lábios; por isso Deus te abençoou para sempre.

³ Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and your majesty.

³ Cinge a tua espada à coxa, ó valente, na tua glória e majestade.

⁴ And in your majesty ⌞ride victoriously⌟, because of truth and humility and righteousness. And let your right hand teach you awesome deeds.

⁴ E em tua majestade cavalga vitoriosamente pela causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça, e a tua destra te ensina coisas terríveis.

⁵ Your arrows are sharp; peoples fall under you in the midst of the king’s enemies.

⁵ As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei; os povos caem debaixo de ti.

⁶ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

⁶ O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste pelos séculos dos séculos; cetro de eqüidade é o cetro do teu reino.

⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you from among your companions with festive oil.

⁷ Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniqüidade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.

⁸ All your robes are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From palaces of ivory stringed instruments gladden you.

⁸ Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra a aloés e a cássia; dos palácios de marfim os instrumentos de cordas e te alegram.

⁹ Kings’ daughters are among your noble ladies. The queen stands at your right hand in gold of Ophir.

⁹ Filhas de reis estão entre as tuas ilustres donzelas; à tua mão direita está a rainha, ornada de ouro de Ofir.

¹⁰ Hear, O daughter, and ⌞discern⌟ and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father’s house.

¹⁰ Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa de teu pai.

¹¹ Let the king desire your beauty. Because he is your lord, therefore bow down to him.

¹¹ Então o rei se afeiçoará à tua formosura. Ele é teu senhor, presta-lhe, pois, homenagem.

¹² Even the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift. The rich from among people will seek your ⌞favor⌟.

¹² A filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.

¹³ The king’s daughter is all glorious within; her garment is of gold embroidered cloth.

¹³ A filha do rei está esplendente lá dentro do palácio; as suas vestes são entretecidas de ouro.

¹⁴ She is brought to the king in colorful garments. The young women behind her, her attendants, are being brought to you.

¹⁴ Em vestidos de cores brilhantes será conduzida ao rei; as virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem, serão trazidas à tua presença.

¹⁵ They are led with joy and gladness. They enter the palace of the king.

¹⁵ Com alegria e regozijo serão trazidas; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.

¹⁶ In place of your fathers will be your sons. You will make them princes in all the land.

¹⁶ Em lugar de teus pais estarão teus filhos; tu os farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.

¹⁷ I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore peoples will praise you forever and ever.

¹⁷ Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
