1 “My inner self loathes my life; ⌞I want to give vent to my complaint⌟; I want to speak out of the bitterness of my inner self.
1 Minha alma está cansada da minha vida; deixarei minha queixa sobre mim mesmo; eu falarei na amargura de minha alma.
2 I will say to God, ‘You should not condemn me; let me know why you contend against me.
2 Eu direi a Deus: Não me condenes; mostra-me por que contendes comigo.
3 Is it good for you that you oppress, that you despise the labor of your hands, and you smile over the schemes of the wicked?
3 É bom para ti que me oprimas, que rejeites o trabalho das tuas mãos, e resplandeças sobre o conselho dos ímpios?
4 ⌞Do you have eyes of flesh⌟? Or ⌞do you see as human beings see⌟?
4 Tens tu olhos de carne? Ou vês tu como vê o homem?
5 Are your days as the days of human beings, or your years as the days of man,
5 São os teus dias como os dias do homem? São os teus anos como os anos do homem,
6 that you seek out my iniquity, and you search for my sin
6 para que inquiras sobre minha iniquidade, e busques o meu pecado?
7 because of your knowledge that I am not guilty, and there is no escaping from your hand?
7 Tu sabes que eu não sou perverso, e que não há ninguém que possa livrar da tua mão.
8 Your hands fashioned me and made me ⌞altogether⌟, then you destroyed me.
8 Tuas mãos me fizeram e me deram forma; ainda assim tu me destróis.
9 Please remember that you made me like clay, but you turn me into dust again?
9 Lembra, eu te suplico, de que fizeste-me como o barro; e me farás voltar ao pó novamente?
10 Did you not pour me out like milk and ⌞curdle me⌟ like cheese?
10 Tu não me derramaste como leite, e me coalhaste como queijo?
11 You clothed me with skin and flesh, and you knit me together with bones and sinews.
11 Tu me vestiste com pele e carne, e me preencheste com ossos e tendões.
12 You have granted me life and loyal love, and your care has preserved my spirit.
12 Deste-me vida e favor; e tua visitação preservou o meu espírito.
13 “ ‘Yet you hid these things in your heart; I know that this ⌞was your purpose⌟.
13 E estas coisas ocultaste no teu coração; eu sei que isto está contigo.
14 If I had sinned, then you would be watching me, and you would not acquit me of my guilt.
14 Se eu pecar, tu me marcas; e não me absolverás de minha iniquidade.
15 If I am guilty, woe to me! But if I am righteous, I dare not lift my head; I am filled with shame, and just look at my misery!
15 Se eu for perverso, ai de mim; e se eu for justo, ainda assim eu não levantarei a minha cabeça; estou cheio de confusão; portanto, vê tu a minha aflição,
16 And if my head grows bold, you would hunt me as the lion in its prime; ⌞and you repeat your exploits against me⌟.
16 porque ela aumenta. Tu me caças como a um leão feroz; e novamente te mostras maravilhoso para comigo.
17 You renew your witnesses against me, and you increase your vexation against me; ⌞relief forces⌟ are against me.
17 Tu renovas tuas testemunhas contra mim, e aumentas tua indignação contra mim; tropas de revezamento e guerra estão contra mim.
18 So why did you bring me forth from the womb? I should have passed away, ⌞and no eye should have seen me⌟.
18 Por que, então, me trouxeste para fora do útero? Ah se eu tivesse abandonado o espírito, e olho nenhum tivesse me visto!
19 I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been brought from the womb to the grave.
19 Eu teria sido como se nunca fora; eu teria sido levado do útero para a sepultura.
20 Are not my days few? Let him leave me alone; let him turn from me, and let me rejoice a little.
20 Não são poucos os meus dias? Cessa então, e deixa-me em paz, para que eu possa ter um pouco de consolo;
21 Before I go—and I will not return— to the land of darkness and deep shadow,
21 antes que eu vá para um lugar de onde não voltarei, à terra da escuridão e da sombra da morte;
22 to the land of darkness, like the darkness of a deep shadow and ⌞chaos⌟, so that it shines forth like darkness.’ ”
22 uma terra de trevas, como a própria escuridão, e da sombra da morte, e sem ordem alguma, e onde a luz é como a escuridão.
