1 “Now this is the commandment, the rules and the regulations, that Yahweh your God charged to teach to you for you ⌞to observe⌟ in the land that you are about to cross over into to take possession of it,
1 Agora estes são os mandamentos, os estatutos e os juízos que o SENHOR vosso Deus ordenou que vos ensinasse, para que pudésseis cumpri-los na terra que vais possuir;
2 so that you may revere Yahweh your God by keeping all his statutes and his commandments that I am commanding you, you and your children and ⌞grandchildren⌟, all the days of your life and so you may live long lives.
2 para que possas temer o SENHOR teu Deus, para guardar todos os seus estatutos e mandamentos, que eu te ordeno, a ti, e a teu filho, e ao filho do teu filho, todos os dias da tua vida, e para que se prolonguem os teus dias.
3 And you shall hear, Israel, and be careful to observe these instructions, so that ⌞it may go well for you⌟ and that you may multiply greatly, just as Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, ⌞promised⌟ you, in a land with milk and honey.
3 Portanto ouve, ó Israel, e guarda-os, para que tudo te vá bem, e para que te multipliques, como o SENHOR Deus dos teus pais te prometeu, na terra que mana leite e mel.
4 “Hear, Israel, Yahweh our God, Yahweh is unique.
4 Ouve, ó Israel: O SENHOR nosso Deus é o único SENHOR.
5 And you shall love Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your might.
5 E amarás ao SENHOR teu Deus com todo o teu coração, e com toda a tua alma, e com todas as suas forças.
6 And these words that I am commanding you ⌞today⌟ shall be on your heart.
6 E estas palavras, que te ordeno neste dia, estarão no teu coração;
7 And you shall recite them to your children, and you shall talk about them at the time of your living in your house and at the time of your going on the road and at the time of your lying down and at the time of your rising up.
7 e as ensinarás diligentemente a teus filhos, e falarás delas, quando te assentares em tua casa, e quando andares pelo caminho, e quando te deitares, e quando te levantares.
8 And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as an emblem between your eyes.
8 E as levarás atadas como sinal em tua mão, e elas serão como testeiras entre os teus olhos,
9 And you shall write them on the doorframe of your house and on your gates.
9 e as escreverás nos umbrais de tua casa e nas tuas portas.
10 “And then it will happen that when Yahweh your God will bring you to the land that he swore to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to you large and fine cities that you did not build,
10 E acontecerá que, quando o SENHOR teu Deus tiver te trazido à terra que jurou aos teus pais, a Abraão, a Isaque, e a Jacó, dar-te cidades grandes e boas, que tu não edificaste,
11 and houses full of all sorts of good things that you did not fill, and hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant, and ⌞you have eaten your fill⌟,
11 e casas cheias de todas as boas coisas, que não encheste, e poços cavados, que não cavaste, e vinhas e oliveiras, que não plantaste; quando comeres e te saciares;
12 then take care for yourself, so that you do not forget Yahweh, who brought you out from the land of Egypt from the house of slavery.
12 então cuidado, para que não te esqueças do SENHOR, que te tirou da terra do Egito, da casa de servidão.
13 “You shall fear Yahweh your God, and you shall serve him, and by his name you shall swear.
13 Temerás ao SENHOR teu Deus, e o servirás, e jurarás pelo seu nome.
14 You shall not go after other gods from the gods of the peoples who are all around you,
14 Não buscareis outros deuses, os deuses dos povos que houver à sua volta;
15 for Yahweh your God is a jealous god in your midst, ⌞so that the anger of Yahweh your God would be kindled⌟, and he would destroy you from the face of the earth.
15 (porque o SENHOR teu Deus é um Deus ciumento entre vós), para que a ira do SENHOR teu Deus não se acenda contra ti, e não te destrua da face da terra.
16 You shall not put Yahweh your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah.
16 Não tentareis ao SENHOR vosso Deus, como o tentastes em Massá.
17 You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God and his legal provisions and his rules that he has commanded you.
17 Guardareis diligentemente os mandamentos do SENHOR vosso Deus, e os seus testemunhos, e os seus estatutos, que ele vos ordenou.
18 And you shall do what is right and good in the eyes of Yahweh, so that ⌞it shall go well⌟ for you and so that you may go and you may take possession of the good land that Yahweh swore for your ancestors,
18 E farás o que é correto e bom aos olhos do SENHOR; para que tudo vá bem contigo e para que possas entrar e possuir a boa terra que o SENHOR jurou a teus pais,
19 by driving out all of your enemies ⌞before you⌟, just as Yahweh ⌞has promised⌟.
19 para que expulses todos os teus inimigos de diante de ti, como o SENHOR falou.
20 “When your child asks you in the future, ⌞saying⌟, ‘What is the meaning of the legal provisions and the rules and the regulations that Yahweh our God commanded for you?’
20 E quando teu filho te perguntar, no tempo que virá, dizendo: O que significam os testemunhos, e os estatutos, e os juízos que o SENHOR nosso Deus vos ordenou?
21 Then you shall say to your child, ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us out from Egypt with a strong hand.
21 Então dirás a teu filho: Nós éramos servos de Faraó no Egito, mas o SENHOR nos tirou do Egito com mão forte;
22 And Yahweh gave great and awesome signs and wonders in Egypt against Pharaoh and against his entire household ⌞in our presence⌟.
22 e o SENHOR mostrou sinais e prodígios, grandes e dolorosos ao Egito, a Faraó, e a toda sua casa, diante de nossos olhos;
23 But he brought us out from there in order to bring us here to give us the land that he swore to our ancestors.
23 e nos tirou de lá, para que pudesse nos trazer, para nos dar a terra que jurou aos nossos pais.
24 And so Yahweh commanded us to observe all of these rules and to revere Yahweh our God ⌞for our benefit⌟ ⌞all the days that we live⌟, ⌞as it is today⌟.
24 E o SENHOR ordenou que fizéssemos todos estes estatutos, que temêssemos ao SENHOR nosso Deus para o nosso bem eterno, para que ele pudesse nos preservar vivos, como somos neste dia.
25 And it shall be righteousness for us if we diligently observe and do all of this commandment ⌞before⌟ Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.’
25 E será nossa justiça, se observarmos todos esses mandamentos diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, como ele nos ordenou.
