¹ How happy is he that is attentive to the poor, In the day of calamity, will Yahweh deliver him:

¹ Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi. Abençoado é aquele que considera o pobre; o SENHOR o livrará em tempos de dificuldade.

² Yahweh, will preserve him and keep him alive, And he shall be pronounced happy in the land, Do not then give him up at the desire of his enemies!

² O SENHOR o preservará, e o manterá vivo; e ele será abençoado sobre a terra, e tu não o entregarás à vontade dos seus inimigos.

³ Yahweh, will sustain him upon the bed of sickness, All his couch, hast thou transformed in his disease.

³ O SENHOR o fortalecerá sobre o leito da enfermidade; tu farás toda a sua cama em sua doença.

⁴ I, saidO Yahweh, show me favour, heal thou my soul, for I have sinned against thee:

⁴ Eu disse: SENHOR, sê misericordioso para comigo, cura a minha alma, porque eu pequei contra ti.

⁵ Mine enemies, speak ill of me, When will he die, and his name perish?

⁵ Meus inimigos falam mal de mim: Quando ele morrerá, e o seu nome perecerá?

⁶ And, if he have come to see me, Falsehood, doth he speak, His own heart, gathereth iniquity to itself, he goeth forth, abroad he telleth it.

⁶ E se ele vem para me ver, fala vaidade, seu coração ajunta iniquidade para si; quando ele vai para fora, ele divulga isso.

⁷ Togetheragainst me, do all who hate me whisper among themselves, Against me, devise they hurt for me.

⁷ Todos aqueles que me odeiam, sussurram juntos contra mim; contra mim imaginam o mal.

⁸ An infliction of the Abandoned One hath been fixed upon him, and, now that he hath lien down, he will not again rise.

⁸ Eles dizem: Uma doença maligna se apega rapidamente a ele, e agora que deita, não levantará mais.

⁹ Even the man whom I used to salute, in whom I put confidence, who used to eat my bread,hath magnified his heel against me!

⁹ Sim, meu próprio amigo, no qual eu confiei, que comeu do meu pão, levantou seu calcanhar contra mim.

¹⁰ But, thou, O Yahweh, show me favour and raise me up, That I may repay them.

¹⁰ Mas tu, ó SENHOR, sê misericordioso para comigo, e levanta-me para que eu possa retribuir-lhes.

¹¹ Hereby, do I know that thou delightest in me, In that mine enemy shall not raise a shout over me.

¹¹ Por isso eu sei que tu me favoreces, porque meu inimigo não triunfa sobre mim.

¹² But, as for me, In my blamelessness, hast thou held me fast, And hast caused me to stand before thee unto times age-abiding.

¹² E quanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha integridade, e me pões diante da tua face para sempre.

¹³ Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, From the age that is past, even unto the age yet to come: Amen and Amen!

¹³ Bendito seja o SENHOR, Deus de Israel desde eternidade até a eternidade. Amém e Amém.
