1 How happy is he that is attentive to the poor, In the day of calamity, will Yahweh deliver him:
1 Bem-aventurado é aquele que atende ao pobre; o Senhor o livrará no dia do mal.
2 Yahweh, will preserve him and keep him alive, And he shall be pronounced happy in the land, Do not then give him up at the desire of his enemies!
2 O Senhor o livrará e o conservará em vida; será abençoado na terra, e tu não o entregarás à vontade de seus inimigos.
3 Yahweh, will sustain him upon the bed of sickness, All his couch, hast thou transformed in his disease.
3 O Senhor o sustentará no leito da enfermidade; tu renovas a sua cama na doença.
4 I, saidO Yahweh, show me favour, heal thou my soul, for I have sinned against thee:
4 Eu dizia: Senhor , tem piedade de mim; sara a minha alma, porque pequei contra ti.
5 Mine enemies, speak ill of me, When will he die, and his name perish?
5 Os meus inimigos falam mal de mim, dizendo: Quando morrerá ele, e perecerá o seu nome?
6 And, if he have come to see me, Falsehood, doth he speak, His own heart, gathereth iniquity to itself, he goeth forth, abroad he telleth it.
6 E, se algum deles vem ver-me, diz coisas vãs; no seu coração amontoa a maldade; em saindo para fora, é disso que fala.
7 Togetheragainst me, do all who hate me whisper among themselves, Against me, devise they hurt for me.
7 Todos os que me aborrecem murmuram à uma contra mim; contra mim imaginam o mal, dizendo:
8 An infliction of the Abandoned One hath been fixed upon him, and, now that he hath lien down, he will not again rise.
8 Uma doença má se lhe pegou; e, pois que está deitado, não se levantará mais.
9 Even the man whom I used to salute, in whom I put confidence, who used to eat my bread,hath magnified his heel against me!
9 Até o meu próprio amigo íntimo, em quem eu tanto confiava, que comia do meu pão, levantou contra mim o seu calcanhar.
10 But, thou, O Yahweh, show me favour and raise me up, That I may repay them.
10 Mas tu, Senhor , tem piedade de mim, e levanta-me, para que eu lhes dê o pago.
11 Hereby, do I know that thou delightest in me, In that mine enemy shall not raise a shout over me.
11 Por isto conheço eu que tu me favoreces: que o meu inimigo não triunfa de mim.
12 But, as for me, In my blamelessness, hast thou held me fast, And hast caused me to stand before thee unto times age-abiding.
12 Quanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha sinceridade e me puseste diante da tua face para sempre.
13 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, From the age that is past, even unto the age yet to come: Amen and Amen!
13 Bendito seja o Senhor , Deus de Israel, de século em século! Amém e amém!
