1 Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
1 Por que se amotinam as nações e os povos tramam em vão?
2 The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together,against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One :
2 Os reis da terra tomam posição e os governantes conspiram unidos contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, e dizem:
3 Let us break asunder their bonds,and cast from us their cords!
3 "Façamos em pedaços as suas correntes, lancemos de nós as suas algemas! "
4 He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh,My Lord, will mock at them:
4 Do seu trono nos céus o Senhor põe-se a rir e caçoa deles.
5 Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
5 Em sua ira os repreende e em seu furor os aterroriza, dizendo:
6 Yet, I, have installed my king,on Zion my holy mountain.
6 "Eu mesmo estabeleci o meu rei em Sião, no meu santo monte".
7 Let me tell of a decree,Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
7 Proclamarei o decreto do Senhor: Ele me disse: "Tu és meu filho; eu hoje te gerei.
8 Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
8 Pede-me, e te darei as nações como herança e os confins da terra como tua propriedade.
9 Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron,as a potters vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
9 Tu as quebrarás com vara de ferro e as despedaçarás como a um vaso de barro".
10 Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
10 Por isso, ó reis, sejam prudentes; aceitem a advertência, autoridades da terra.
11 Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
11 Adorem ao Senhor com temor; exultem com tremor.
12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger,How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
12 Beijem o filho, para que ele não se ire e vocês não sejam destruídos de repente, pois num instante acende-se a sua ira. Como são felizes todos os que nele se refugiam!
