¹ Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?

¹ Por que se amotinam os gentios, e os povos imaginam coisas vàs?

² The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together,against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One :

² Os reis da terra se levantam e os governos consultam juntamente contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:

³ Let us break asunder their bonds,and cast from us their cords!

³ Rompamos as suas ataduras, e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.

⁴ He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh,My Lord, will mock at them:

⁴ Aquele que habita nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

⁵ Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:

⁵ Então lhes falará na sua ira, e no seu furor os turbará.

⁶ Yet, I, have installed my king,on Zion my holy mountain.

⁶ Eu, porém, ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu santo monte de Sião.

⁷ Let me tell of a decree,Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:

⁷ Proclamarei o decreto: o Senhor me disse: Tu és meu Filho, eu hoje te gerei.

⁸ Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:

⁸ Pede-me, e eu te darei os gentios por herança, e os fins da terra por tua possessão.

⁹ Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron,as a potters vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.

⁹ Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.

¹⁰ Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:

¹⁰ Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.

¹¹ Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:

¹¹ Servi ao Senhor com temor, e alegrai-vos com tremor.

¹² Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger,How happy are all who seek refuge in him!

¹² Beijai o Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçais no caminho, quando em breve se acender a sua ira; bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.
