1 Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
1 Por que os pagãos se irritam, e os povos imaginam coisas vãs?
2 The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together,against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One :
2 Os reis da terra se posicionam, e os governantes tomam conselhos juntos, contra o SENHOR e contra o seu Ungido, dizendo:
3 Let us break asunder their bonds,and cast from us their cords!
3 Rompamos as suas ataduras em partes, e lancemos longe de nós as suas cordas.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh,My Lord, will mock at them:
4 Aquele que se assenta nos céus se rirá; o Senhor os terá em escárnio.
5 Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
5 Então lhes falará na sua ira, e os aborrecerá no seu desgosto pesaroso.
6 Yet, I, have installed my king,on Zion my holy mountain.
6 Contudo, pus meu rei sobre o meu santo monte de Sião.
7 Let me tell of a decree,Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
7 Eu declararei o decreto; o SENHOR me disse: Tu és meu Filho; neste dia eu te gerei.
8 Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
8 Pede-me, e eu te darei os pagãos por tua herança, e as partes extremas da terra por tua possessão.
9 Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron,as a potters vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
9 Tu os quebrarás com uma vara de ferro; tu os arrebentarás em pedaços como a um vaso de oleiro.
10 Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
10 Agora, portanto, ó reis, sede sábios; sede instruídos, vós juízes da terra.
11 Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
11 Servi ao SENHOR com temor, e regozijai-vos com tremor.
12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger,How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
12 Beijai o Filho, para que ele não se ire, e pereçais no caminho, porque em breve sua ira se inflamará. Abençoados são todos aqueles que põem sua confiança nele.
