1 My son, to my wisdom, attend, and, to mine understanding, incline thou thine ear:
1 Meu filho, dê atenção à minha sabedoria; incline os ouvidos à minha inteligência,
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion,and, as for knowledge, that thy lips may guard it.
2 para que você conserve o discernimento, e para que os seus lábios guardem o conhecimento.
3 For, with sweet droppings, drip the lips of her that is a stranger, and, smoother than oil, is her mouth;
3 Porque os lábios da mulher imoral destilam mel, e as suas palavras são mais suaves do que o azeite;
4 But, the latter end of her, is bitter as wormwood, sharp, as a two-edged sword!
4 mas o seu fim é amargo como fel, e cortante como uma espada de dois gumes.
5 Her feet, are going down to death,on hades, will her steps take firm hold.
5 Os seus pés descem para a morte; os seus passos conduzem ao inferno.
6 Lest, the path of life, she should ponder, her tracks have wandered she knoweth not .
6 Ela não faz plana a vereda da vida; anda errante nos seus caminhos e não o sabe.
7 Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and do not turn away from the sayings of my mouth.
7 E agora, meu filho, escute o que eu digo e não se desvie das palavras da minha boca.
8 Keep far from her thy way, and do not go near the opening of her house:
8 Afaste o seu caminho dessa mulher; não se aproxime da porta da casa dela,
9 Lest thou give, to other men, thy vigour, and thy years, to him that is cruel:
9 para que você não dê a outros a sua honra, nem a sua vida a homens cruéis;
10 Lest strange men, be well fed, by thy strength, and, thy toils, be in the house of the alien.
10 para que os estranhos não se fartem dos seus bens, e o fruto do seu trabalho não acabe em casa alheia.
11 So shalt thou grieve in thy latter end, in the failing of thy flesh and of thy healthy condition;
11 No fim de sua vida você ficará gemendo, quando a sua carne e o seu corpo se consumirem.
12 And thou shalt sayHow I hated correction! and, reproof, my heart disdained;
12 Então você dirá: “Como foi que eu pude odiar o ensino? E por que o meu coração desprezou a disciplina?
13 Neither hearkened I to the voice of my teachers, nor, to my instructors, inclined I mine ear:
13 Não escutei a voz dos que me ensinavam, nem dei ouvidos aos meus mestres!
14 Soon was I in all evil, in the midst of convocation and assembly.
14 Quase caí em ruína completa no meio da congregação reunida.”
15 Drink thou water out of thine own cistern, and flowing streams out of the midst of thine own well.
15 Beba a água da sua própria cisterna e das correntes do seu poço.
16 Let not thy fountains, flow over, abroad, in the streets, dividings of waters:
16 Por que você derramaria as suas fontes lá fora, e os seus ribeiros de água pelas praças?
17 Let them be for thyself, alone, and not for strangers with thee.
17 Que sejam para você somente e não para os estranhos que estão com você.
18 Let thy well-spring be blessed,and get thy joy from the wife of thy youth:
18 Seja bendito o seu manancial, e alegre-se com a mulher da sua mocidade,
19 A loving hind! a graceful doe! let, her bosom, content thee at all times, and, in her love, mayst thou stray evermore.
19 corça amorosa e gazela graciosa. Que os seios dela saciem você em todo o tempo; embriague-se sempre com as suas carícias.
20 Wherefore, then, shouldst thou stray, my son, with a strange woman? or embrace the bosom of a woman unknown?
20 Meu filho, por que você andaria cego atrás de uma estranha e abraçaria os seios de outra?
21 For, before the eyes of Yahweh, are the ways of a man,and, all his tracks, doth he consider:
21 Porque os caminhos do homem estão diante dos olhos do e ele considera todas as suas veredas.
22 His own iniquities, shall entrap him with the lawless, and, by the cords of his own sin, shall he be seized.
22 Quanto ao ímpio, as suas iniquidades o prenderão, e com as cordas do seu pecado será detido.
23 He, shall die, for lack of discipline, and, by the abounding of his perversity, shall he be lost.
23 Ele morrerá pela falta de disciplina, e, pelo excesso de sua loucura, sai cambaleando por aí.
