1 There was however, a man from among the Pharisees, Nicodemus, his name,ruler of the Jews.
1 Havia entre os fariseus um homem chamado Nicodemos, um governante dos judeus;
2 The same, came unto him, by night, and said unto himRabbi! we know that, from God, thou hast come, a teacher; for, no one, can be doing, these signs, which, thou, art doing, except, God, be with him.
2 este veio de noite a Jesus, e lhe disse: Rabi, nós sabemos que és mestre vindo de Deus; porque nenhum homem pode fazer estes milagres que tu fazes, se Deus não estiver com ele.
3 Jesus answered, and said unto himVerily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3 Respondeu-lhe Jesus, dizendo: Na verdade, na verdade eu te digo: Se um homem não nascer de novo, ele não pode ver o reino de Deus.
4 Nicodemus saith unto himHow, can a man be born, when he is, old? Can he, into the womb of his mother, a second time, enter, and be born?
4 Nicodemos disse a ele: Como pode um homem nascer, sendo ele velho? Pode entrar pela segunda vez no ventre de sua mãe, e nascer?
5 Jesus answeredVerily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
5 Jesus respondeu: Na verdade, na verdade eu te digo: Se um homem não nascer da água e do Espírito, ele não pode entrar no reino de Deus.
6 That which hath been born of the flesh, is, flesh, and, that which hath been born of the spirit, is, spirit.
6 O que é nascido da carne é carne, e o que é nascido do Espírito é espírito.
7 Do not marvel, that I said unto thee: Ye must needs be born from above.
7 Não te admires de eu te haver dito: Necessário vos é nascer de novo.
8 The spirit, where it pleaseth, doth breathe, and, the sound thereof, thou hearest; but knowest not, whence it cometh and whither it goeth: Thus, is every one who hath been born of the spirit.
8 O vento sopra onde quer, e tu ouves o seu som, mas não sabes de onde vem, e para onde vai; assim é todo o que é nascido do Espírito.
9 Nicodemus answered, and said unto himHow, can these things, come about?
9 Nicodemos respondeu e lhe disse: Como pode ser estas coisas?
10 Jesus answered, and said unto himArt, thou, the teacher of Israel, and, these things, knowest not?
10 Jesus respondeu e disse-lhe: Tu és mestre em Israel e não entendes estas coisas?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee: What we know, we speak, and, of what we have seen, we bear witness, and, our witness, ye receive not.
11 Na verdade, na verdade eu te digo que nós falamos o que sabemos, e testemunhamos o que temos visto; e não aceitais o nosso testemunho.
12 If, the earthly things, I told you, and ye believe not, How, if I should tell you the heavenly things, will ye believe?
12 Se eu vos falei de coisas terrenas, e vós não credes, como crereis, se eu vos falar das coisas celestiais?
13 And, no one, hath ascended into heaven, save he that, out of heaven, descended,The Son of Man.
13 E nenhum homem subiu ao céu, senão aquele que desceu do céu, o Filho do homem que está no céu.
14 And, just as, Moses, lifted up the serpent in the desert, so, must, the Son of Man, be lifted up,
14 E como Moisés levantou a serpente no deserto, assim importa que o Filho do homem seja levantado;
15 That, whosoever believeth in him, may have life age-abiding.
15 para que todo o que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.
16 For God, so loved, the world, that, his Only Begotten Son, he gave,that, whosoever believeth on him, might not perish, but have life age-abiding.
16 Porque Deus amou tanto ao mundo que ele deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo o que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.
17 For God, sent not, his Son into the world, that he might judge the world, but, that the world might be saved through him.
17 Porque Deus não enviou o seu Filho ao mundo para condenar o mundo, mas para que o mundo possa ser salvo através dele.
18 He that believeth on him, is not to be judged: he that believeth not, already, hath been judged,because he hath not believed on the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.
18 Quem crê nele não é condenado; mas quem não crê já está condenado, porque não creu no nome do unigênito Filho de Deus.
19 And, this, is the judgment: That, the light, hath come into the world,and men loved, rather the darkness than the light, for, wicked, were their, works.
19 E a condenação é esta: Que a luz veio ao mundo, e os homens amaram mais as trevas do que a luz, porque os seus atos eram maus.
20 For, whosoever doth practise corrupt things, hateth the light, and cometh not unto the light, lest his works should be reproved;
20 Porque todo aquele que faz o mal odeia a luz, e não vem para a luz, para que os seus atos não sejam reprovados.
21 But, he that doeth the truth, cometh unto the light, that his works may be, made manifest, that, in God, have they been wrought.
21 Mas quem pratica a verdade vem para a luz, para que os seus atos possam ser manifestos, pois eles são forjados em Deus.
22 After these things, came Jesus, and his disciples, into the Judaean land; and, there, was he tarrying with them, and immersing.
22 Após estas coisas Jesus foi com os seus discípulos para a terra da Judeia; e estava ali com eles e batizava.
23 And John also was immersing in Aenon, near to him, because, many waters, were there; and they were coming, and being immersed;
23 E João batizava também em Enom, junto a Salim, porque havia ali muitas águas; e eles vinham, e eram batizados.
24 for, not yet, had John been cast into prison.
24 Porque ainda João não tinha sido lançado na prisão.
25 There arose, therefore, a questioning, from among the disciples of John, with a Jew,concerning purification.
25 Então, levantou-se uma questão entre alguns dos discípulos de João e os judeus acerca da purificação.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto himRabbi! he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, unto whom, thou, hast borne witness, see! the same, is immersing; and, all, are coming unto him.
26 E foram ter com João e disseram-lhe: Rabi, aquele que estava contigo além do Jordão, do qual tens dado testemunho, eis que está batizando, e todos os homens vão até ele.
27 John answered, and saidA man can receive, nothing, except it have been given him out of heaven.
27 João respondeu e disse: O homem não pode receber coisa alguma, se lhe não for dada do céu.
28 Ye yourselves, unto me, bear witness, that, I, saidI, am not the Christ; butI am sent before, That One.
28 Vós mesmos me sois testemunhas de que eu disse: Eu não sou o Cristo, mas sou enviado adiante dele.
29 He that hath the bride, is, bridegroom; but, the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth by and hearkeneth unto him, greatly, rejoiceth, by reason of the voice of the bridegroom. This, my joy, therefore, is fulfilled.
29 Aquele que tem a noiva é o noivo, mas o amigo do noivo, que está presente e o ouve, alegra-se muito com a voz do noivo. Esta minha alegria está cumprida.
30 That One, it behoveth to increase,but, me, to decrease.
30 Ele deve crescer, mas eu devo diminuir.
31 He that, from above, doth come, over all, is: he that is of the earth, of the earth, is, and, of the earth, doth speak: he that, out of heaven, doth come, over all, is,
31 Aquele que vem de cima é sobre todos, aquele que está na terra é da terra, e fala da terra; aquele que vem do céu é sobre todos.
32 What he hath seen and heard, of, the same, he beareth witness,and, his witness, no one, receiveth:
32 E o que ele tem visto e ouvido, isso ele testifica; e nenhum homem aceita o seu testemunho.
33 He that hath received his witness, hath set sealthat, God, is, true.
33 Aquele que tem recebido seu testemunho, estabeleceu o selo dele que Deus é verdadeiro.
34 For, he whom God hath sent, the sayings of God, doth speak; for, not by measure, giveth he the Spirit.
34 Pois aquele que Deus enviou fala as palavras de Deus, porque Deus não lhe dá o Espírito por medida.
35 The Father, loveth the Son, and, all things, hath given into his hand.
35 O Pai ama ao Filho, e tem dado todas as coisas em suas mãos.
36 He that believeth on the Son, hath life age-abiding: whereas, he that yieldeth not unto the Son, shall not see life,but, the anger of God, awaiteth him.
36 Aquele que crê no Filho tem a vida eterna; e aquele que não crê no Filho não verá a vida, mas a ira de Deus permanece sobre ele.
