1 Upon my watch-tower, will I stand, and will station myself upon the bulwark,so will I keep outlook, to seewhat he will speak with me, and what I shall reply, when I am reproved.
1 Pôr-me-ei na minha torre de vigia, colocar-me-ei sobre a fortaleza e vigiarei para ver o que Deus me dirá e que resposta eu terei à minha queixa.
2 Then Yahweh answered me, and said, Write the vision, Yea, make it plain on tablets, that one may swiftly read it;
2 O Senhor me respondeu e disse: Escreve a visão, grava-a sobre tábuas, para que a possa ler até quem passa correndo.
3 For yet is the vision for an appointed time, still, it presseth towards an end, and will not deceive,if it tarry, wait thou for it, for it, surely cometh,will not be too late.
3 Porque a visão ainda está para cumprir-se no tempo determinado, mas se apressa para o fim e não falhará; se tardar, espera-o, porque, certamente, virá, não tardará.
4 Lo! as for the conceited one, crooked is his soul within him,- but, one who is righteous, by his faithfulness, shall live.
4 Eis o soberbo! Sua alma não é reta nele; mas o justo viverá pela sua fé.
5 Moreover also, when wine betrayeth, a man, is arrogant, and findeth no rest,because he hath enlarged, like hades, his desire, yea, he, is like death, and cannot be satisfied,but hath gathered unto himself, all the nations, and assembled unto himself, all the peoples.
5 Assim como o vinho é enganoso, tampouco permanece o arrogante, cuja gananciosa boca se escancara como o sepulcro e é como a morte, que não se farta; ele ajunta para si todas as nações e congrega todos os povos.
6 Shall not, these, all of them, against him, take upa taunt, a mocking poem, enigmatical sentencesconcerning him? And sayAlas! for him who maketh abundance in what is not his own, How long? that he should be burdening himself with heavy debts?
6 Não levantarão, pois, todos estes contra ele um provérbio, um dito zombador? Dirão: Ai daquele que acumula o que não é seu (até quando?), e daquele que a si mesmo se carrega de penhores!
7 Will not thy creditors, suddenly rise up? and they who shall violently shake thee, all at once become active? Then shalt thou serve for booties, unto them!
7 Não se levantarão de repente os teus credores? E não despertarão os que te hão de abalar? Tu lhes servirás de despojo.
8 Because, thou, hast plundered many nations, all the residue of the peoples, shall plunder thee,for shedding Human blood, and doing violence to the earth, to the city, and to all who dwell therein.
8 Visto como despojaste a muitas nações, todos os mais povos te despojarão a ti, por causa do sangue dos homens e da violência contra a terra, contra a cidade e contra todos os seus moradores.
9 Alas! for him who extorteth an extortion of wrong for his own house,that he may set on high his nest, that he may be delivered from the grasp of calamity.
9 Ai daquele que ajunta em sua casa bens mal adquiridos, para pôr em lugar alto o seu ninho, a fim de livrar-se das garras do mal!
10 Thou hast counseled shame to thy housemaking an end of many peoples, and endangering thine own life.
10 Vergonha maquinaste para a tua casa; destruindo tu a muitos povos, pecaste contra a tua alma.
11 Surely, the stone out of the wall, will make outcry,and, the tie out of the timber, will answer it.
11 Porque a pedra clamará da parede, e a trave lhe responderá do madeiramento.
12 Alas! for him who buildeth a city with deeds of blood,and establisheth a town with perversity.
12 Ai daquele que edifica a cidade com sangue e a fundamenta com iniquidade!
13 Lo! is it not from Yahweh of hoststhat peoples labour for fire, and, populations, for emptiness, weary themselves?
13 Não vem do Senhor dos Exércitos que as nações labutem para o fogo e os povos se fatiguem em vão?
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh,as, the waters, cover the sea.
14 Pois a terra se encherá do conhecimento da glória do Senhor , como as águas cobrem o mar.
15 Alas! for him who causeth his neighbour to drink, from the goblet of thy fury, and also, making him drunk,to the end thou mayest gloat over their parts of shame.
15 Ai daquele que dá de beber ao seu companheiro, misturando à bebida o seu furor, e que o embebeda para lhe contemplar as vergonhas!
16 Thou art sated with contempt, more than glory, drink, thou too, and expose thy person,the cup of the right hand of Yahweh, shall come round unto thee, and ignominious filth be upon thy glory;
16 Serás farto de opróbrio em vez de honra; bebe tu também e exibe a tua incircuncisão; chegará a tua vez de tomares o cálice da mão direita do Senhor , e ignomínia cairá sobre a tua glória.
17 For, the violence to Lebanon, shall cover thee, and wasting by wild beasts shall cause them terror,for shedding Human blood, and doing violence to the earth, to the city, and to all who dwell therein.
17 Porque a violência contra o Líbano te cobrirá, e a destruição que fizeste dos animais ferozes te assombrará, por causa do sangue dos homens e da violência contra a terra, contra a cidade e contra todos os seus moradores.
18 What hath a carved image, profited, though the fashioner thereof, carved it? a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood,though the fashioner of his fashioned thing trusted therein? that men should make Dumb Nonentities!
18 Que aproveita o ídolo, visto que o seu artífice o esculpiu? E a imagem de fundição, mestra de mentiras, para que o artífice confie na obra, fazendo ídolos mudos?
19 Alas! for him who saith to wood, Awake, bestir thee! to a silent stone, he, shall teach! Though he is overlaid with gold and silver, yet, no spirit whatsoever, is in him!
19 Ai daquele que diz à madeira: Acorda! E à pedra muda: Desperta! Pode o ídolo ensinar? Eis que está coberto de ouro e de prata, mas, no seu interior, não há fôlego nenhum.
20 Howbeit, Yahweh, is in his holy temple,Hush before him, all the earth.
20 O Senhor , porém, está no seu santo templo; cale-se diante dele toda a terra.
