1 And Abraham took another wife and her name, was Keturah;
1 Desposou Abraão outra mulher; chamava-se Quetura.
2 and she bare to him Zimran, and Yokshan, and Medan, and Midian,and Ishbak, and Shuah.
2 Ela lhe deu à luz a Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Isbaque e Suá.
3 And, Yokshan, begat Sheba and Dedan,and, the sons of Dedan, were Asshurim and Letushim, and Leummim.
3 Jocsã gerou a Seba e a Dedã; os filhos de Dedã foram: Assurim, Letusim e Leumim.
4 And the sons of Midian, Ephah and Epher and Hanoch, and Abida. and Eldaah,all these, were the sons of Keturah.
4 Os filhos de Midiã foram: Efá, Efer, Enoque, Abida e Elda. Todos estes foram filhos de Quetura.
5 And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac;
5 Abraão deu tudo o que possuía a Isaque.
6 but, to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts,and then sent them away from Isaac his son while he himself yet lived, eastward unto the land of the east.
6 Porém, aos filhos das concubinas que tinha, deu ele presentes e, ainda em vida, os separou de seu filho Isaque, enviando-os para a terra oriental.
7 Now, these, are the days of the years of the life of Abraham which he liveda hundred and seventy-five years.
7 Foram os dias da vida de Abraão cento e setenta e cinco anos.
8 So Abraham breathed his last, and died in a fine old age, old and satisfied,and was gathered unto his people,
8 Expirou Abraão; morreu em ditosa velhice, avançado em anos; e foi reunido ao seu povo.
9 And Isaac and Ishmael his sons buried him, in the cave of Machpelah,in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, which is over against Mamre;
9 Sepultaram-no Isaque e Ismael, seus filhos, na caverna de Macpela, no campo de Efrom, filho de Zoar, o heteu, fronteiro a Manre,
10 the field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth,there, was buried Abraham, with Sarah his wife.
10 o campo que Abraão comprara aos filhos de Hete. Ali foi sepultado Abraão e Sara, sua mulher.
11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac his son,and Isaac dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.
11 Depois da morte de Abraão, Deus abençoou a Isaque, seu filho; Isaque habitava junto a Beer-Laai-Roi.
12 Now, these, are the generations of Ishmael son of Abraham,whom hagar the Egyptian woman the handmaid of Sarah bare to Abraham;
12 São estas as gerações de Ismael, filho de Abraão, que Agar, egípcia, serva de Sara, lhe deu à luz.
13 and these, are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names after their generations,the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsam;
13 E estes, os filhos de Ismael, pelos seus nomes, segundo o seu nascimento: o primogênito de Ismael foi Nebaiote; depois, Quedar, Abdeel, Mibsão,
14 and Mishma and Dumah, and Massa;
14 Misma, Dumá, Massá,
15 Ha-dad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
15 Hadade, Tema, Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá.
16 these, same, are the sons of Ishmael and these, their names, by their villages and by their encampments,twelve princes, after their tribes.
16 São estes os filhos de Ismael, e estes, os seus nomes pelas suas vilas e pelos seus acampamentos: doze príncipes de seus povos.
17 And these, are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty-seven years,and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered unto his people.
17 E os anos da vida de Ismael foram cento e trinta e sete; e morreu e foi reunido ao seu povo.
18 And they stretched their habitations from Havilah as far as to Shur, which is over against Egypt, as thou goest in towards Assyria,over against all his brethren, he settled down.
18 Habitaram desde Havilá até Sur, que olha para o Egito, como quem vai para a Assíria. Ele se estabeleceu fronteiro a todos os seus irmãos.
19 And, these, are the generations of Isaac, son of Abraham,Abraham, begat Isaac;
19 São estas as gerações de Isaque, filho de Abraão. Abraão gerou a Isaque;
20 and it came to pass that, Isaac, was forty years old, when he took Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Syrian, of the Plain of Syria,sister of Laban the Syrian. to himself to wife.
20 era Isaque de quarenta anos, quando tomou por esposa a Rebeca, filha de Betuel, o arameu de Padã-Arã, e irmã de Labão, o arameu.
21 So then Isaac made entreaty unto Yahweh in behalf of his wife, for she was, barren,and Yahweh suffered himself to be entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
21 Isaque orou ao Senhor por sua mulher, porque ela era estéril; e o Senhor lhe ouviu as orações, e Rebeca, sua mulher, concebeu.
22 And the sons within her struggled together, so she saidIf so, wherefore now am, I, ? And she went to seek Yahweh.
22 Os filhos lutavam no ventre dela; então, disse: Se é assim, por que vivo eu? E consultou ao Senhor .
23 And Yahweh said to her. Two nations, are in thy womb, And two races, from thy body, shall be parted,And, one race, shall be stronger, than the other race, And the elder, shall serve the younger.
23 Respondeu-lhe o Senhor : Duas nações há no teu ventre, dois povos, nascidos de ti, se dividirão: um povo será mais forte que o outro, e o mais velho servirá ao mais moço.
24 Then were fulfilled her days to bring forth,and lo! twins in her womb.
24 Cumpridos os dias para que desse à luz, eis que se achavam gêmeos no seu ventre.
25 And the first came forth red, all over, as a mantle of hair,so they called his name, Esau,
25 Saiu o primeiro, ruivo, todo revestido de pelo; por isso, lhe chamaram Esaú.
26 And, after that, came forth his brother with his hand fast hold of the heel of Esau, so they called his name JacobNow, Isaac, was sixty years old when she bare them,
26 Depois, nasceu o irmão; segurava com a mão o calcanhar de Esaú; por isso, lhe chamaram Jacó. Era Isaque de sessenta anos, quando Rebeca lhos deu à luz.
27 And when the youths grew up, it came to pass that Esau was a man skilled in game a man of the field,but, Jacob, was a ready man, dwelling in tents.
27 Cresceram os meninos. Esaú saiu perito caçador, homem do campo; Jacó, porém, homem pacato, habitava em tendas.
28 And, Isaac, loved, Esau, because of the game he put in his mouth,but, Rebekah, was a lover of Jacob!.
28 Isaque amava a Esaú, porque se saboreava de sua caça; Rebeca, porém, amava a Jacó.
29 And Jacob had boiled pottage,when Esau came in from the field, he, being famished.
29 Tinha Jacó feito um cozinhado, quando, esmorecido, veio do campo Esaú
30 So Esau said unto Jacob. Do let me devour some of the redthis red, for, famished, I am. For this cause, was his name called Edom.
30 e lhe disse: Peço-te que me deixes comer um pouco desse cozinhado vermelho, pois estou esmorecido. Daí chamar-se Edom.
31 And Jacob said,Come sell, just now, thy birthright unto me.
31 Disse Jacó: Vende-me primeiro o teu direito de primogenitura.
32 And Esau said, Here am I, on the point of dying,wherefore, then, should I, have, a birthright?
32 Ele respondeu: Estou a ponto de morrer; de que me aproveitará o direito de primogenitura?
33 And Jacob said, Come swear to me just now! And he sware to him,and sold his birthright to Jacob.
33 Então, disse Jacó: Jura-me primeiro. Ele jurou e vendeu o seu direito de primogenitura a Jacó.
34 And Jacob, having given to Esau bread and a dish of lentils, he did eat and drink and rose up, and went his way,thus Esau despised his birthright!
34 Deu, pois, Jacó a Esaú pão e o cozinhado de lentilhas; ele comeu e bebeu, levantou-se e saiu. Assim, desprezou Esaú o seu direito de primogenitura.
