1 Then responded Moses, and said, And lo! they will not believe me, neither hearken to my voice,for they will say, Yahweh, hath not appeared unto thee.
1 E respondeu Moisés e disse: Mas eis que eles não crerão em mim, nem ouvirão a minha voz, pois dirão: O SENHOR não te apareceu.
2 And Yahweh said unto himWhat is this in thy hand? And he saidA staff.
2 E disse-lhe o SENHOR: O que há em tua mão? E ele disse: Um cajado.
3 Then said heCast it to the earth. And he cast it to the earth, and it became a serpent,and Moses fled from the face thereof.
3 E ele disse: Lança-o na terra. E ele o lançou na terra, e se tornou uma serpente. E Moisés fugiu dela.
4 And Yahweh said unto Moses, Put forth thy hand, and take it by its tail: So he put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a staff in his hand:
4 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Estende a tua mão; e toma-a pela cauda. E ele estendeu a sua mão, e a pegou, e ela se tornou um cajado em sua mão,
5 that they may believe that Yahweh, God of their fathers,God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob hath appeared unto thee.
5 para que eles creiam que te apareceu o SENHOR, Deus de seus pais, o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó.
6 Then said Yahweh unto him, yet againBring, I pray thee, thy hand, into thy bosom. So he brought his hand, into his bosom,and then took it out, and lo! his hand, was leprous,like snow,
6 E disse mais o SENHOR: Põe agora a tua mão no peito. E ele pôs a mão no seu peito, e quando a tirou, eis que a sua mão estava leprosa como neve.
7 And he saidPut back thy hand into thy bosom: So he put back his hand into his bosom,and then took it out of his bosom, and lo it had come again like his own flesh:
7 E disse: Põe tua mão no peito de novo. E ele novamente pôs a mão no peito, e quando a tirou do peito, eis que se tornara como sua outra carne.
8 thus shall it come to pass, if they will not believe thee, nor hearken to the voice of the first sign, then will they believe the voice of the next sign;
8 E acontecerá que, se eles não crerem em ti, nem derem ouvidos à voz do primeiro sinal, então eles crerão na voz do segundo sinal.
9 and it shall come to pass if they will not believe even these two signs nor hearken to thy voice, then shalt thou take of the water of the river, and pour it out on the dry land,so shall the water which thou hast taken from the river, become, yea it shall become, blood, on the dry land.
9 E acontecerá que, se eles não crerem também nesses dois sinais, nem derem ouvidos à tua voz, então tomarás da água do rio e a derramarás sobre a terra seca. E a água que tirares do rio se tornará em sangue sobre a terra seca.
10 And Moses said unto YahwehPardon, O My Lord! not a man of words, am I, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant,for heavy of mouth and heavy of tongue, I am.
10 E disse Moisés ao SENHOR: Ó meu Senhor, eu não sou eloquente, nem até agora, nem desde que falaste ao teu servo. Mas eu sou lento de fala, e de uma língua lenta.
11 Then Yahweh said unto himWho appointed a mouth for man, or who appointeth him to be dumb, or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, Yahweh,?
11 E o SENHOR lhe disse: Quem fez a boca do homem? Quem fez o mudo, o surdo, o que vê ou o cego? Não fiz eu o SENHOR?
12 Now, therefore go,and, I, will be with thy mouth, so will I direct thee, what thou shalt speak.
12 Portanto, vai, e eu serei com a tua boca, e te ensinarei o que dirás.
13 And he saidPardon, O My Lord! send, I pray thee by the hand of him whom thou wilt send
13 E ele disse: Ó meu Senhor, envia, rogo-te, pela tua mão aquele a quem enviarás.
14 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh against Moses, and he saidIs there not Aaron, thy brother, the Levite? I know that he lean speak. Moreover also lo! he himself is coming forth to meet thee, as surely as he seeth thee, so surely will he rejoice in his heart.
14 E a ira do SENHOR se acendeu contra Moisés, e ele disse: Não é Arão, o levita, teu irmão? Sei que ele pode falar bem. E eis que ele está vindo para encontrar-se contigo, e vendo-te, se alegrará em seu coração.
15 Then shalt thou speak unto him, and shalt put the words in his mouth,and, I, will be with thy mouth and with his mouth, so will I direct you what ye shall do.
15 E tu falarás a ele; e colocarás palavras na sua boca; e eu serei com a tua boca, e com a dele, e vos ensinarei o que deveis fazer.
16 And, he, shall speak for thee unto the people,so shall it come to pass that he shall become thy mouth, and thou shalt become to him as God.
16 E ele será teu porta-voz ao povo. E assim ele te será por boca, e tu lhe serás por Deus.
17 And this staff, take thou in thy hand,wherewith thou shalt do the signs.
17 E tomarás este cajado em tuas mãos, com o qual farás sinais.
18 So Moses went and returned unto Jethro his father-in-law and said to himLet me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren who are in Egypt, that I my see whether they are yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses: Go and prosper.
18 E Moisés partiu e voltou a Jetro, seu sogro, e lhe disse: Deixa-me ir, rogo-te, e voltar a meus irmãos que estão no Egito, e ver se ainda vivem. E Jetro disse a Moisés: Vai em paz.
19 Then said Yahweh unto Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt,for all the men are dead who were seeking thy life.
19 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés em Midiã: Vai, volta ao Egito, pois estão mortos todos os homens que procuravam tirar-te a vida.
20 So Moses took his wife and his sons, and caused them to ride upon the ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt,and Moses took the staff of God in his hand.
20 E Moisés tomou sua esposa e seus filhos, e os colocou sobre um jumento, e voltou à terra do Egito. E Moisés tomou o cajado de Deus em sua mão.
21 And Yahweh said unto Moses, When thou goest to return to Egypt, see as touching all the wonders which I have put in thy hand, that thou do them before Pharaohbut, I, will let his heart wax bold, and he will not suffer the people to go.
21 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Quando tu voltares ao Egito, procure fazer diante de Faraó todas as maravilhas que tenho posto na tua mão. Mas eu vou endurecer o seu coração, para que ele não deixe o povo ir.
22 Then shalt thou say unto Pharaoh, Thus, saith YahwehMy sonmy firstborn, is Israel;
22 E tu dirás a Faraó: Assim diz o SENHOR: Israel é meu filho, o meu primogênito,
23 Therefore I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me, But if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I, am going to slay, thy son, thy firstborn.
23 e eu te digo: Deixa meu filho ir, para que me sirva. E se te recusares a deixá-lo ir, eis que matarei o teu filho, o teu primogênito.
24 And it came to pass, on the way, in the resting-place for the night, that Yahweh fell upon him, and sought to kill him.
24 E aconteceu que a caminho, em uma estalagem, o SENHOR se encontrou com ele; e procurou matá-lo.
25 So Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it down at his feet,and saidSurely, a bridegroom by rites of blood, art thou to me!
25 Então Zípora tomou uma pedra afiada, e cortou o prepúcio de seu filho, e o lançou aos pés dele, e disse: Certamente és esposo sanguinário para mim.
26 So he let him go, Then, it was that she said, A bridegroom by rites of bloodwith regard to the rites of circumcision.
26 Assim ele o deixou ir. Então ela disse: Um esposo sanguinário és, por causa da circuncisão.
27 And Yahweh said unto Aaron, Go thy way to meet Moses, towards the desert. So he went his way, and fell in with him in the mountain of God and kissed him.
27 E o SENHOR disse a Arão: Vai ao deserto para te encontrares com Moisés. E ele foi, e o encontrou no monte de Deus, e o beijou.
28 And Moses told Aaron, all the words of Yahweh wherewith he had sent him,and all the signs wherewith he had charged him.
28 E disse Moisés a Arão todas as palavras do SENHOR, que o enviara, e todos os sinais que lhe ordenara.
29 So Moses and Aaron went their way,and gathered together all the elders of the sons of Israel.
29 E Moisés e Arão foram e reuniram todos os anciãos dos filhos de Israel,
30 And Aaron spake all the words which Yahweh had spoken unto Moses,and did the signs before the eyes of the people,
30 e Arão falou todas as palavras que o SENHOR havia falado a Moisés, e fez os sinais à vista do povo.
31 And the people believed,and when they heard that Yahweh had concerned himself for the sons of Israel, and that he had looked upon their humiliation, then bent they their heads and bowed themselves down.
31 E o povo creu. E quando ouviram que o SENHOR havia visitado os filhos de Israel, e que ele havia visto a sua aflição, então curvaram a sua cabeça e adoraram.
