1 Then, sang Moses, and the sons of Israel, this song unto Yahweh, and they spake, saying,I will sing to Yahweh, for he is exalted, exalted,The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
1 Então Moisés e os israelitas entoaram em honra do Senhor o seguinte cântico: "Cantarei ao Senhor, porque ele manifestou sua glória. Precipitou no mar cavalos e cavaleiros.
2 My might and melody, is Yah, And he became mine, by salvation,This, is my GOD, and I will glorify him, The God of my father and I will set him on high.
2 O Senhor é a minha força e o objeto do meu cântico; foi ele quem me salvou. Ele é o meu Deus - eu o celebrarei; o Deus de meu pai - eu o exaltarei.
3 Yahweh is a warlike one,Yahweh, is his name.
3 O Senhor é o herói dos combates, seu nome é Javé.
4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his train, hath he cast into the sea,Yea, the choice of his warriors, were sunk in the Sedgy Sea.
4 Lançou no mar os carros do faraó e o seu exército; a elite de seus combatentes afogou-se no mar Vermelho;
5 Roaring deeps, covered them,They went down in the raging depths like a stone.
5 o abismo os cobriu; afundaram-se nas águas como pedra.
6 Thy right hand, O Yahweh is splendid in power,Thy right hand, O Yahweh dasheth in pieces a foe;
6 A vossa {mão} direita, ó Senhor, manifestou sua força. Vossa direita aniquilou o inimigo.
7 And in the greatness of thine exaltation, dost thou tear down thine opposers,Thou dost send forth thy wrath, it consumeth them as straw;
7 Por vossa soberana majestade derrotais vossos adversários; desencadeais vossa cólera, e ela os consome como palha.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils, heaped up are the waters, Upreared like a mound, are the flowing waves,Roaring deeps are congealed in the heart of the sea.
8 Ao sopro de vosso furor amontoaram-se as águas; levantaram-se as ondas como muralha, solidificaram-se as vagas no coração do mar.
9 Said the feeI will pursueovertake divide spoil,Take her fill of themshall my soul, I will bare my sword, root them outshall my hand.
9 Dizia o inimigo: perseguirei, alcançarei, repartirei o despojo, satisfarei meu desejo de vingança, desembainharei a espada, minha mão os destruirá.
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind they were covered by the sea,They rolled like lead, into the waters so wide. Who is, like unto thee, among the mighty O Yahweh?
10 Ao sopro de vosso hálito o mar os sepultou; submergiram como chumbo na vastidão das águas.
11 Who is, like unto thee, Majestic in holiness,To be revered in praises, Doing a marvellous thing?
11 Quem entre os deuses é semelhante a vós, Senhor? Quem é semelhante a vós, glorioso por vossa santidade, temível por vossos feitos dignos de louvor, e que operais prodígios?
12 Thou didst stretch forth thy right hand, earth swallowed them up.
12 Apenas estendestes a mão, e a terra os tragou.
13 Thou hast led forth in thy lovingkindness, the people which thou hast redeemed,Thou hast guided them in thy might into the home of thy holiness.
13 Conduzistes com bondade esse povo, que libertastes; e com vosso poder o guiastes à vossa morada santa.
14 Peoples have heard they tremble,A pang, hath seized the dwellers of Philistia:
14 Ao ouvir isso, estremeceram os povos. Um pavor imenso apoderou-se dos filisteus;
15 Then, were amazed the chiefs of Edom, The mighty ones of Moab, there seizeth them, a trembling,Melted away, have all the dwellers of Canaan:
15 os chefes de Edom ficaram aterrados; a angústia tomou conta dos valentes de Moab; tremeram de medo todos os habitantes de Canaã.
16 There falleth upon them a terror and dread, With the greatness of thine arm, are they struck dumb as a stone,Till thy people pass over O Yahweh, Till the people pass over, which thou hast made thine own:
16 Caíram sobre eles o terror e a angústia, o poder do vosso braço os petrificou, até que tivesse passado o vosso povo, Senhor até que tivesse passado o povo que adquiristes para vós.
17 Thou bringest them in and plantest them, In the mountain of thine inheritance, Thy dwelling-place to abide in which thou hast made, O Yahweh,A hallowed place O My Lord which thy hands have established.
17 Conduzi-lo-eis e o plantareis na montanha que vos pertence, no lugar que preparastes para vossa habitação, Senhor, no santuário, Senhor, que vossas mãos fundaram.
18 Yahweh, shall reign unto times age-abiding and beyond.
18 O Senhor é rei para sempre, sem fim!"
19 For the horses of Pharaoh, with his chariots and his horsemen, entered into the sea, Then did Yahweh bring back upon them the waters of the sea,But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on the dry ground through the midst of the sea.
19 Os cavalos do faraó, com efeito, entraram no mar com seus carros e seus cavaleiros, e o Senhor os envolveu nas águas, enquanto os israelitas passaram a pé enxuto o leito do mar.
20 Then took Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron the timbrel in her hand,and all the women came forth after her with timbrels and dances,
20 A profetisa Maria, irmã de Aarão, tomou seu tamborim na mão, e todas as mulheres seguiram-na dançando com tamborins.
21 And Miriam responded to the men, Sing to Yahweh for he is exaltedexalted, The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
21 Maria as acompanhava entoando: "Cantai ao Senhor, porque fez brilhar a sua glória, precipitou no mar cavalos e cavaleiros!"
22 And Moses caused Israel to break up from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert of Shur,and journeyed three days in the desert and found no water;
22 Moisés fez partir os israelitas do mar Vermelho e os dirigiu para o deserto de Sur. Caminharam três dias no deserto, sem encontrar água.
23 and, when they came in towards Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter,for this taut, was the name thereof called Marah.
23 Chegaram a Mara, onde não puderam beber de sua água, porque era amarga, de onde o nome de Mara que deram a esse lugar.
24 So the people murmured against Mosessaying, What are we to drink?
24 Então o povo murmurou contra Moisés: "Que havemos de beber?"
25 And he made outcry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh pointed out a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters became sweet,There, he appointed him a statute and regulation And, there, he put him to the proof.
25 Moisés clamou ao Senhor, e o Senhor indicou-lhe um madeiro que ele jogou na água. E esta tornou-se doce. Foi nesse lugar que o Senhor deu ao povo preceitos e leis, e ali o provou.
26 And he said: If thou, wilt indeed hearken, to the voice of Yahweh thy God, And the thing that is right in his eyes, thou wilt do, And so give ear to his commandments, And keep all his statutes, None of the sicknesses which I laid on the Egyptians, will I lay upon thee, For, I, am Yahweh, thy physician.
26 Disse-lhe: "Se ouvires a voz do Senhor, teu Deus, e fizeres o que é reto aos seus olhos, se inclinares os ouvidos às suas ordens e observares todas as suas leis, não mandarei sobre ti nenhum dos males com que acabrunhei o Egito, porque eu sou o Senhor que te cura."
27 Then came they in to Elim, and there, were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm-trees,so they encamped there, by the waters.
27 E chegaram a Elim, onde havia doze fontes de água e setenta palmeiras; e ali acamparam junto das águas.
