1 Then, sang Moses, and the sons of Israel, this song unto Yahweh, and they spake, saying,I will sing to Yahweh, for he is exalted, exalted,The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
1 Então Moisés e os israelitas cantaram esta canção a Deus, o Senhor : Cantarei ao porque ele conquistou uma vitória maravilhosa; ele jogou os cavalos e os cavaleiros dentro do mar.
2 My might and melody, is Yah, And he became mine, by salvation,This, is my GOD, and I will glorify him, The God of my father and I will set him on high.
2 O Senhor é o meu forte defensor; foi ele quem me salvou. Ele é o meu Deus, e eu o louvarei. Ele é o Deus do meu pai, e eu cantarei a sua grandeza.
3 Yahweh is a warlike one,Yahweh, is his name.
3 O Senhor é um guerreiro; o seu nome é
4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his train, hath he cast into the sea,Yea, the choice of his warriors, were sunk in the Sedgy Sea.
4 Ele jogou no mar o exército egípcio e os seus carros de guerra; os seus melhores oficiais se afogaram no mar Vermelho.
5 Roaring deeps, covered them,They went down in the raging depths like a stone.
5 O mar profundo os cobriu; como uma pedra eles foram até o fundo.
6 Thy right hand, O Yahweh is splendid in power,Thy right hand, O Yahweh dasheth in pieces a foe;
6 A tua mão direita, ó Senhor , tem um poder terrível; ela despedaça o inimigo.
7 And in the greatness of thine exaltation, dost thou tear down thine opposers,Thou dost send forth thy wrath, it consumeth them as straw;
7 Como é maravilhosa a tua vitória! Derrotas os teus inimigos e com a tua tu os queimas como se fossem palha.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils, heaped up are the waters, Upreared like a mound, are the flowing waves,Roaring deeps are congealed in the heart of the sea.
8 Tu sopraste, e as águas se amontoaram; as ondas se levantaram como muralhas, e o fundo do mar ficou duro como gelo.
9 Said the feeI will pursueovertake divide spoil,Take her fill of themshall my soul, I will bare my sword, root them outshall my hand.
9 Os inimigos disseram: “Nós iremos atrás deles e os alcançaremos; pegaremos todas as coisas que são deles e ficaremos com tudo o que quisermos. Com as nossas espadas nós os mataremos.”
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind they were covered by the sea,They rolled like lead, into the waters so wide. Who is, like unto thee, among the mighty O Yahweh?
10 Porém tu, ó Senhor , sopraste, e os egípcios se afogaram; afundaram como chumbo no mar bravo.
11 Who is, like unto thee, Majestic in holiness,To be revered in praises, Doing a marvellous thing?
11 Não há outro deus como tu, ó Quem é santo e majestoso como tu? Quem pode fazer os milagres e as maravilhas que fazes?
12 Thou didst stretch forth thy right hand, earth swallowed them up.
12 Estendeste a mão direita, e a terra engoliu os que nos perseguiam.
13 Thou hast led forth in thy lovingkindness, the people which thou hast redeemed,Thou hast guided them in thy might into the home of thy holiness.
13 Por causa do teu amor tu guiaste o povo que salvaste; com o teu grande poder tu os levaste para a tua terra santa.
14 Peoples have heard they tremble,A pang, hath seized the dwellers of Philistia:
14 Os povos ouviram falar do que fizeste e estão tremendo de medo. Os filisteus ficaram apavorados.
15 Then, were amazed the chiefs of Edom, The mighty ones of Moab, there seizeth them, a trembling,Melted away, have all the dwellers of Canaan:
15 Os chefes dos edomitas estão assustados, os poderosos moabitas perderam a coragem, e todos os cananeus estão tremendo.
16 There falleth upon them a terror and dread, With the greatness of thine arm, are they struck dumb as a stone,Till thy people pass over O Yahweh, Till the people pass over, which thou hast made thine own:
16 O medo e o terror caíram sobre eles. Eles viram o teu grande poder e ficaram parados como se fossem pedras até que tivesse passado o teu povo, o povo que livraste da escravidão.
17 Thou bringest them in and plantest them, In the mountain of thine inheritance, Thy dwelling-place to abide in which thou hast made, O Yahweh,A hallowed place O My Lord which thy hands have established.
17 Tu levarás o teu povo para viver no teu o lugar, ó Senhor, que escolheste para morar, o Templo que tu mesmo construíste.
18 Yahweh, shall reign unto times age-abiding and beyond.
18 O Senhor Deus será rei para todo o sempre!
19 For the horses of Pharaoh, with his chariots and his horsemen, entered into the sea, Then did Yahweh bring back upon them the waters of the sea,But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on the dry ground through the midst of the sea.
19 Os israelitas atravessaram o mar em terra seca. Porém, quando os carros de guerra dos egípcios, com os seus cavalos e cavaleiros, entraram no mar, o Senhor Deus fez com que as águas voltassem e os cobrissem.
20 Then took Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron the timbrel in her hand,and all the women came forth after her with timbrels and dances,
20 A profetisa Míriam, que era irmã de Arão, pegou um pandeiro, e todas as mulheres a acompanharam, tocando pandeiro e dançando.
21 And Miriam responded to the men, Sing to Yahweh for he is exaltedexalted, The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
21 E Míriam cantou para elas assim: Cantem ao porque ele conquistou uma vitória ele jogou os cavalos e os cavaleiros dentro do mar.
22 And Moses caused Israel to break up from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert of Shur,and journeyed three days in the desert and found no water;
22 Aí Moisés levou o povo de Israel do mar Vermelho para o deserto de Sur. Eles caminharam três dias no deserto e não acharam água.
23 and, when they came in towards Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter,for this taut, was the name thereof called Marah.
23 Então chegaram a um lugar chamado Mara, porém não puderam beber a água dali porque era amarga. Por isso aquele lugar era chamado de Mara .
24 So the people murmured against Mosessaying, What are we to drink?
24 O povo reclamou com Moisés e perguntou: — O que vamos beber?
25 And he made outcry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh pointed out a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters became sweet,There, he appointed him a statute and regulation And, there, he put him to the proof.
25 Então Moisés, em voz alta, pediu socorro a Deus, o Senhor , e o Senhor lhe mostrou um pedaço de madeira. Moisés jogou a madeira na água, e a água ficou boa de beber. Foi nesse lugar que o
26 And he said: If thou, wilt indeed hearken, to the voice of Yahweh thy God, And the thing that is right in his eyes, thou wilt do, And so give ear to his commandments, And keep all his statutes, None of the sicknesses which I laid on the Egyptians, will I lay upon thee, For, I, am Yahweh, thy physician.
26 Ele disse: — Se vocês prestarem atenção no que eu digo, se fizerem o que é certo e se guardarem os meus mandamentos, eu não os castigarei com nenhuma das doenças que mandei contra os egípcios. Eu sou o
27 Then came they in to Elim, and there, were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm-trees,so they encamped there, by the waters.
27 Depois os israelitas chegaram a Elim, onde havia doze fontes de água e setenta palmeiras. E acamparam ali, perto da água.
