1 Then, sang Moses, and the sons of Israel, this song unto Yahweh, and they spake, saying,I will sing to Yahweh, for he is exalted, exalted,The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
1 Então Moisés e o povo de Israel entoaram este cântico ao S enhor : “Cantarei ao S pois ele triunfou gloriosamente; lançou no mar o cavalo e seu cavaleiro.
2 My might and melody, is Yah, And he became mine, by salvation,This, is my GOD, and I will glorify him, The God of my father and I will set him on high.
2 O S enhor é minha força e minha canção; ele é meu salvador. É o meu Deus e eu o louvarei; é o Deus de meu pai e eu o exaltarei.
3 Yahweh is a warlike one,Yahweh, is his name.
3 O S enhor é guerreiro; Javé
4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his train, hath he cast into the sea,Yea, the choice of his warriors, were sunk in the Sedgy Sea.
4 Lançou no mar os carros de guerra e as tropas do faraó; os melhores oficiais egípcios se afogaram no mar Vermelho.
5 Roaring deeps, covered them,They went down in the raging depths like a stone.
5 Águas profundas os encobriram, e afundaram como pedra.
6 Thy right hand, O Yahweh is splendid in power,Thy right hand, O Yahweh dasheth in pieces a foe;
6 “Tua mão direita, ó S enhor , é gloriosa em poder. Tua mão direita, ó S despedaça o adversário.
7 And in the greatness of thine exaltation, dost thou tear down thine opposers,Thou dost send forth thy wrath, it consumeth them as straw;
7 Na grandeza de tua majestade, derrubas os que se levantam contra ti. Envias tua fúria ardente, que os consome como palha.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils, heaped up are the waters, Upreared like a mound, are the flowing waves,Roaring deeps are congealed in the heart of the sea.
8 Com o forte sopro de tuas narinas, as águas se amontoaram; como muralhas se levantaram e no coração do mar se endureceram.
9 Said the feeI will pursueovertake divide spoil,Take her fill of themshall my soul, I will bare my sword, root them outshall my hand.
9 “O inimigo dizia: ‘Eu os perseguirei e os alcançarei; eu os saquearei e deles me vingarei. Puxarei minha espada e com forte mão os destruirei’.
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind they were covered by the sea,They rolled like lead, into the waters so wide. Who is, like unto thee, among the mighty O Yahweh?
10 Mas tu sopraste com teu fôlego, e o mar os encobriu. Afundaram como chumbo nas águas poderosas.
11 Who is, like unto thee, Majestic in holiness,To be revered in praises, Doing a marvellous thing?
11 “Quem entre os deuses é semelhante a ti, ó S enhor , glorioso em santidade, temível em esplendor, autor de grandes maravilhas?
12 Thou didst stretch forth thy right hand, earth swallowed them up.
12 Estendeste tua mão direita, e a terra engoliu nossos inimigos.
13 Thou hast led forth in thy lovingkindness, the people which thou hast redeemed,Thou hast guided them in thy might into the home of thy holiness.
13 “Com o teu fiel amor, conduzes o povo que resgataste. Com teu poder, o guias à tua santa habitação.
14 Peoples have heard they tremble,A pang, hath seized the dwellers of Philistia:
14 Os povos ouvem e estremecem, a angústia se apodera dos que vivem na Filístia.
15 Then, were amazed the chiefs of Edom, The mighty ones of Moab, there seizeth them, a trembling,Melted away, have all the dwellers of Canaan:
15 Aterrorizam-se os líderes de Edom, estremecem os nobres de Moabe. Desfalecem os habitantes de Canaã;
16 There falleth upon them a terror and dread, With the greatness of thine arm, are they struck dumb as a stone,Till thy people pass over O Yahweh, Till the people pass over, which thou hast made thine own:
16 espanto e terror caem sobre eles. O poder do teu braço os deixa paralisados, como pedra, até teu povo passar, ó S até passar o povo que compraste.
17 Thou bringest them in and plantest them, In the mountain of thine inheritance, Thy dwelling-place to abide in which thou hast made, O Yahweh,A hallowed place O My Lord which thy hands have established.
17 Tu os trarás e os plantarás em teu próprio monte, no lugar reservado, ó S para tua habitação: o santuário, ó Soberano, que tuas mãos estabeleceram.
18 Yahweh, shall reign unto times age-abiding and beyond.
18 O S enhor reinará para todo o sempre!”.
19 For the horses of Pharaoh, with his chariots and his horsemen, entered into the sea, Then did Yahweh bring back upon them the waters of the sea,But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on the dry ground through the midst of the sea.
19 Quando os cavalos, os carros de guerra e os cavaleiros do faraó entraram no mar, o S enhor fez as águas do mar voltarem sobre eles. Mas o povo de Israel atravessou pelo meio do mar em terra seca.
20 Then took Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron the timbrel in her hand,and all the women came forth after her with timbrels and dances,
20 Então a profetisa Miriã, irmã de Arão, pegou um tamborim e todas as mulheres a seguiram, tocando tamborins e dançando.
21 And Miriam responded to the men, Sing to Yahweh for he is exaltedexalted, The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.
21 E Miriã entoava esta canção: “Cantem ao S pois ele triunfou gloriosamente; lançou no mar o cavalo e seu cavaleiro”.
22 And Moses caused Israel to break up from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert of Shur,and journeyed three days in the desert and found no water;
22 Em seguida, Moisés conduziu o povo de Israel do mar Vermelho para o deserto de Sur. Caminharam pelo deserto por três dias sem encontrar água.
23 and, when they came in towards Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter,for this taut, was the name thereof called Marah.
23 Quando chegaram a Mara, descobriram que a água era amarga demais para beber. Por isso chamaram aquele lugar de Mara.
24 So the people murmured against Mosessaying, What are we to drink?
24 O povo começou a se queixar e se voltou contra Moisés. “O que beberemos?”, perguntavam.
25 And he made outcry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh pointed out a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters became sweet,There, he appointed him a statute and regulation And, there, he put him to the proof.
25 Então Moisés clamou ao S enhor , e o S enhor lhe mostrou um pedaço de madeira. Moisés o jogou na água, e ela se tornou boa para beber. Foi em Mara que o S
26 And he said: If thou, wilt indeed hearken, to the voice of Yahweh thy God, And the thing that is right in his eyes, thou wilt do, And so give ear to his commandments, And keep all his statutes, None of the sicknesses which I laid on the Egyptians, will I lay upon thee, For, I, am Yahweh, thy physician.
26 Ele disse: “Se ouvirem com atenção a voz do S enhor , seu Deus, e fizerem o que é certo aos olhos dele, obedecendo a seus mandamentos e cumprindo todos os seus decretos, não os farei sofrer nenhuma das doenças que enviei sobre o Egito, pois eu sou o S enhor que os cura”.
27 Then came they in to Elim, and there, were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm-trees,so they encamped there, by the waters.
27 Depois que saíram de Mara, os israelitas viajaram até Elim, onde encontraram doze fontes de água e setenta palmeiras, e acamparam ali, junto às águas.
