1 For this cause, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you the nations:
1 Por essa razão eu oro a Deus, eu, Paulo, que estou preso por causa de Cristo Jesus para o bem de vocês, os não judeus.
2 If at least ye have heard of the administration of the favour of God which hath been given unto me for you,
2 Com certeza vocês já sabem que Deus, por causa da sua graça , me deu esse trabalho para o bem de vocês.
3 How that , by way of revelation, was made known unto me the sacred secret,even as I before wrote in brief,
3 Deus me revelou o seu plano secreto e fez com que eu o conhecesse. (Eu escrevi isso em poucas palavras,
4 Respecting which ye can, by reading, perceive my discernment in the sacred secret of the Christ,
4 e, se vocês lerem o que escrevi, poderão saber como entendo o segredo de Cristo.)
5 Which, in other generations, had not been made known unto the sons of men, as it hath, now, been revealed by his holy apostles and prophets, in Spirit;
5 No passado esse segredo não foi contado aos seres humanos, mas agora, por meio do seu Espírito, Deus o revelou aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas .
6 That they who are of the nations should be joint heirs, and a joint body, and joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through means of the glad-message,
6 O segredo é este: por meio do evangelho os não judeus participam com os judeus das bênçãos divinas. Eles são membros do mesmo corpo e participam da promessa que Deus fez por meio de Cristo Jesus.
7 Of which I was made a minister, according to the free-gift of the favour of God which was given unto me, according to the energy of his power:
7 Graças ao dom que Deus, na sua bondade, me deu, e, pela ação do seu poder, eu fui colocado como servo do evangelho.
8 Unto methe less than least of all saints, was given this favour, unto the nations, to announce the glad-message of the untraceable riches of the Christ,
8 Eu sou menos do que o menor de todos os que pertencem a Deus, mas mesmo assim ele me deu este privilégio de anunciar aos não judeus a boa notícia das imensas riquezas de Cristo.
9 And to bring to lightwhat is the administration of the sacred secret which had been hidden away from the ages in God, who did all things create:
9 E também me deu o privilégio de fazer com que todos vejam como se realiza o plano secreto de Deus. Deus, que criou tudo, escondeu esse segredo durante os tempos passados.
10 In order that now, unto the principalities and the authorities in the heavenlies, might be made known, through means of the assembly, the manifold wisdom of God,
10 E isso aconteceu a fim de que agora, por meio da Igreja, as autoridades e os poderes angélicos do mundo celestial conheçam a sabedoria de Deus em todas as suas diferentes formas.
11 According to a plan of the ages which he made in the anointed Jesus our Lord,
11 Deus fez isso de acordo com o seu propósito eterno, que ele realizou por meio de Cristo Jesus, o nosso Senhor.
12 In whom we have our freedom of speech and introduction with assurance, through the faith of him;
12 Por estarmos unidos com Cristo, por meio da nossa fé nele, nós temos a coragem de nos apresentarmos na presença de Deus com toda a confiança.
13 Wherefore I request, that there be no fainting in my tribulations in your behalf, the which is your glory;
13 Portanto, eu lhes peço que não desanimem por causa dos meus sofrimentos por vocês, pois eles lhes trazem benefício.
14 For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father,
14 Por esse motivo, eu me ajoelho diante do Pai,
15 From whom every fatherhood in heavens and upon the earth is named,
15 de quem todas as famílias no céu e na terra recebem o seu verdadeiro nome.
16 In order that he may give unto youaccording to his glorious riches, with power, to be strengthened, through his Spirit, in the inner man,
16 E peço a Deus que, da riqueza da sua glória , ele, por meio do seu Espírito, dê a vocês poder para que sejam espiritualmente fortes.
17 That the Christ may dwell, through means of your faith, in your hearts, in love, having become rooted and founded,
17 Peço também que, por meio da fé, Cristo viva no coração de vocês. E oro para que vocês tenham raízes e alicerces no amor,
18 In order that ye may be mighty enough to grasp firmly, with all the saints,what is the breadth and length and depth and height,
18 para que assim, junto com todo o povo de Deus, vocês possam compreender o amor de Cristo em toda a sua largura, comprimento, altura e profundidade.
19 To get to know, also, the knowledge-surpassing, love of the Christ,in order that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God:
19 Sim, embora seja impossível conhecê-lo perfeitamente, peço que vocês venham a conhecê-lo, para que assim Deus encha completamente o ser de vocês com a sua natureza.
20 Now, unto him who is able to do, above all things, exceeding abundantly above the things which we ask or conceive,according to the power which doth energise itself within us,
20 E agora, que a glória seja dada a Deus, o qual, por meio do seu poder que age em nós, pode fazer muito mais do que nós pedimos ou até pensamos!
21 Unto him, be the glory, in the assembly, and in Christ Jesusunto all the generations of the age of ages; Amen:
21 Glória a Deus por meio da Igreja e por meio de Cristo Jesus, por todos os tempos e para todo o sempre! Amém !
