1 For this cause, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you the nations:
1 Por esta causa, eu, Paulo, sou o prisioneiro de Jesus Cristo por vós, os gentios,
2 If at least ye have heard of the administration of the favour of God which hath been given unto me for you,
2 se é que tendes ouvido a dispensação da graça de Deus, que me é dada para convosco;
3 How that , by way of revelation, was made known unto me the sacred secret,even as I before wrote in brief,
3 como pela revelação ele fez-me saber este mistério (como vos escrevi antes, em poucas palavras,
4 Respecting which ye can, by reading, perceive my discernment in the sacred secret of the Christ,
4 pelo que, quando ledes, podeis entender o meu conhecimento do mistério de Cristo).
5 Which, in other generations, had not been made known unto the sons of men, as it hath, now, been revealed by his holy apostles and prophets, in Spirit;
5 O qual, noutras épocas, não foi manifestado aos filhos dos homens, como, agora, tem sido revelado aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas pelo Espírito,
6 That they who are of the nations should be joint heirs, and a joint body, and joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through means of the glad-message,
6 a saber, que os gentios são coerdeiros, e de um mesmo corpo, e participantes da sua promessa em Cristo pelo evangelho;
7 Of which I was made a minister, according to the free-gift of the favour of God which was given unto me, according to the energy of his power:
7 do qual fui feito ministro, segundo o dom da graça de Deus, dado a mim pela operação eficaz do seu poder.
8 Unto methe less than least of all saints, was given this favour, unto the nations, to announce the glad-message of the untraceable riches of the Christ,
8 A mim, que sou menos que o mínimo de todos os santos, me foi dada esta graça de pregar entre os gentios as riquezas incompreensíveis de Cristo,
9 And to bring to lightwhat is the administration of the sacred secret which had been hidden away from the ages in God, who did all things create:
9 e fazer com que todos vejam qual é a comunhão do mistério, que, desde o começo do mundo, esteve oculto em Deus, que criou todas as coisas por meio de Jesus Cristo;
10 In order that now, unto the principalities and the authorities in the heavenlies, might be made known, through means of the assembly, the manifold wisdom of God,
10 para que agora, os principados e potestades nos lugares celestiais possam conhecer, pela igreja, a multiforme sabedoria de Deus,
11 According to a plan of the ages which he made in the anointed Jesus our Lord,
11 segundo o eterno propósito que fez em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor,
12 In whom we have our freedom of speech and introduction with assurance, through the faith of him;
12 no qual temos ousadia e acesso com confiança, pela nossa fé nele.
13 Wherefore I request, that there be no fainting in my tribulations in your behalf, the which is your glory;
13 Portanto, vos peço que não desfaleçais nas minhas tribulações por vós, que são a vossa glória.
14 For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father,
14 Por causa disso, me ponho de joelhos perante o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
15 From whom every fatherhood in heavens and upon the earth is named,
15 do qual toda a família nos céus e na terra toma o nome,
16 In order that he may give unto youaccording to his glorious riches, with power, to be strengthened, through his Spirit, in the inner man,
16 para que vos conceda, segundo as riquezas da sua glória, que sejais fortalecidos com poder pelo seu Espírito no homem interior;
17 That the Christ may dwell, through means of your faith, in your hearts, in love, having become rooted and founded,
17 para que Cristo habite no vosso coração pela fé; a fim de, estando arraigados e fundados em amor,
18 In order that ye may be mighty enough to grasp firmly, with all the saints,what is the breadth and length and depth and height,
18 possa ser capaz de compreender, com todos os santos, qual é a largura, e o comprimento, e a profundidade, e altura,
19 To get to know, also, the knowledge-surpassing, love of the Christ,in order that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God:
19 e conhecer o amor de Cristo, que excede todo conhecimento, para que sejais cheios de toda a plenitude de Deus.
20 Now, unto him who is able to do, above all things, exceeding abundantly above the things which we ask or conceive,according to the power which doth energise itself within us,
20 Ora, àquele que é capaz de fazer tudo muito mais abundantemente além daquilo que pedimos ou pensamos, segundo o poder que em nós opera,
21 Unto him, be the glory, in the assembly, and in Christ Jesusunto all the generations of the age of ages; Amen:
21 a ele seja a glória na igreja, por Cristo Jesus, em todas as gerações, para sempre e sempre. Amém.
