1 Then began Solomon, to build the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, in Mount Moriah, where he had appeared unto David his father,-in the place which David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
1 Então Salomão começou a edificar a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém, no monte Moriá, onde o Senhor aparecera a Davi, seu pai, no lugar que Davi tinha preparado na eira de Ornã, o jebuseu.
2 And he began to build, in the second month, on the second, in the fourth year of his reign.
2 Começou a edificar no segundo dia do segundo mês, no quarto ano do seu reinado.
3 And, these, are the things wherein Solomon was grounded for the building of the house of God,The length, by cubits, in the first measure, was sixty cubits, and, the breadth, twenty cubits.
3 Estes foram os fundamentos que Salomão pôs para edificar a casa de Deus. O comprimento em côvados, segundo a primitiva medida, era de sessenta côvados, e a largura de vinte côvados:
4 And, the porch which was in front of the length, in front of the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and, the height thereof, was a hundred and twenty,and he overlaid it, within, with pure gold.
4 O pórtico que estava na frente tinha vinte côvados de comprimento, correspondendo à largura da casa, e a altura era de cento e vinte; e por dentro o revestiu de ouro puro.
5 And, the greater house, covered he with cypress wood, and overlaid it with fine gold,and raised thereon palms, and wreathed garlands.
5 A câmara maior forrou com madeira de cipreste e a cobriu de ouro fino, no qual gravou palmas e cadeias.
6 And he covered the house with precious stones, for beauty,and, the gold, was gold of Parvaim.
6 Para ornamento guarneceu a câmara de pedras preciosas; e o ouro era ouro de Parvaim.
7 And he covered the house, the beams, the entrance-hall, and the walls thereof and the doors thereof, with gold,and he carved cherubim upon the walls.
7 Também revestiu de ouro as traves e os umbrais, bem como as paredes e portas da câmara, e lavrou querubins nas paredes.
8 And he made the most holy house, the length whereof, was, according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and, the breadth thereof, twenty cubits,and he covered it with fine gold, to six hundred talents;
8 Fez também a câmara santíssima, cujo comprimento era de vinte côvados, correspondendo à largura da casa, e a sua largura era de vinte côvados; e a revestiu de ouro fino, do peso de seiscentos talentos.
9 and, the weight of the nails, amounted to fifty shekels of gold,and, the upper chambers, covered he with gold.
9 O peso dos pregos era de cinqüenta siclos de ouro. Também revestiu de ouro os cenáculos.
10 And he made, in the most holy house, two cherubim, of carved work,and covered them with gold.
10 Também fez na câmara santíssima dois querubins de madeira, e os cobriu de ouro.
11 And, as for the wings of the cherubim, the length of them, was twenty cubits,the one wing, by the cubit was five, reaching to the wall of the house, and, the other wing, five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub;
11 As asas dos querubins tinham vinte côvados de comprimento: uma asa de um deles, tendo cinco côvados, tocava na parede da casa, e a outra asa, tendo também cinco côvados, tocava na asa do outro querubim;
12 and, the wing of the other cherub, was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house,and, the other wing, was five cubits, cleaving to the wing of the other cherub:
12 também a asa deste querubim, tendo cinco côvados, tocava na parede da casa, e a outra asa, tendo igualmente cinco côvados, estava unida à asa do primeiro querubim.
13 the wings of these cherubim, outspread, were twenty cubits,and, they themselves, were standing upon their feet, and, their faces, were inward.
13 Assim as asas destes querubins se estendiam por vinte côvados; eles estavam postos em pé, com os rostos virados para a câmara.
14 And he made a vail, of blue and purple, and crimson and byssus cloth,and raised thereon cherubim.
14 Também fez o véu de azul, púrpura, carmesim e linho fino; e fez bordar nele querubins.
15 And he made, for the front of the house, two pillars, thirty five cubits in length,and, the capital which was upon the top of each, was five cubits.
15 Diante da casa fez duas colunas de trinta e cinco côvados de altura; e o capitel que estava sobre cada uma era de cinco côvados.
16 And he made wreathen chains in the shrine, and put them upon the top of the pillars,and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them in the chains,
16 Também fez cadeias no oráculo, e as pôs sobre o alto das colunas; fez também cem romãs, as quais pôs nas cadeias.
17 And he reared up the pillars in front of the temple, one, on the right, and, one, on the left,and called the name of that on the right hand, Jachin, and the name of that on the left, Boaz.
17 E levantou as colunas diante do templo, uma à direita, e outra à esquerda; e chamou o nome da que estava à direita Jaquim, e o nome da que estava à esquerda Boaz.
