1 Veio um dos sete anjos que tinham as sete taças, e falou comigo, dizendo: Vem, mostrar-te-ei a condenação da grande prostituta que está assentada sobre muitas águas;
2 Kua moea pukutia nei e ngā kīngi o te whenua, ā, haurangi iho te hunga e noho ana i te whenua i te wāina o tōna moepuku.”
2 com a qual se prostituíram os reis da terra; e os que habitam sobre a terra se embriagaram com o vinho da sua prostituição.
3 Nā, ka ārahina ahau i roto i te Wairua e ia ki te koraha; ā, ka kite ahau i tētahi wahine e noho ana i runga i tētahi kararehe whero, kapi tonu i te ingoa kohukohu, e whitu ōna māhunga, tekau ngā hāona.
3 Então ele me levou em espírito a um deserto; e vi uma mulher montada numa besta cor de escarlata, que estava cheia de nomes de blasfêmia, e que tinha sete cabeças e dez chifres.
4 Nā, ko te kākahu o te wahine rā he mea pāpura, he mea whero, he mea whakapaipai ki te kōura, ki te kōhatu utu nui, ki te peara, he kapu kōura hoki kei tōna ringa kī tonu i te mea whakarihariha, i te poke hoki o tōna moepuku.
4 A mulher estava vestida de púrpura e de escarlata, e adornada de ouro, pedras preciosas e pérolas; e tinha na mão um cálice de ouro, cheio das abominações, e da imundícia da prostituição;

7 Ao que o anjo me disse: Por que te admiraste? Eu te direi o mistério da mulher, e da besta que a leva, a qual tem sete cabeças e dez chifres.
8 Ko te kararehe i kite rā koe, i mua ia, kāhore hoki ināianei. Ka puta ake anō hoki ia ā mua i roto i te poka tōrere, ā, ka riro atu ki te whakangaromanga. Nā, ko te hunga e noho ana ki te whenua, kāhore nei ō rātou ingoa i tuhituhia ki te pukapuka o te ora o te orokohanganga rā anō o te ao, ka mīharo rātou ina kite i te kararehe i ora i mua, ā, kāhore nei ināianei, ā tēnei ake ka puta.
8 A besta que viste era e já não é; todavia está para subir do abismo, e vai-se para a perdição; e os que habitam sobre a terra e cujos nomes não estão escritos no livro da vida desde a fundação do mundo se admirarão, quando virem a besta que era e já não é, e que tornará a vir.
9 “Tēnei te hinengaro whai mahara. Ko ngā mātenga e whitu he maunga, e whitu, kei runga te wahine i ērā e noho ana.
9 Aqui está a mente que tem sabedoria. As sete cabeças são sete montes, sobre os quais a mulher está assentada;
10 Nā, e whitu ērā kīngi. Tokorima kua hinga, kotahi tēnei, ko tētahi kāhore anō i tae noa mai; ā, ka tae mai ia, me noho ia, he wā iti nei.
10 são também sete reis: cinco já caíram; um existe; e o outro ainda não é vindo; e quando vier, deve permanecer pouco tempo.
11 Nā, ko te kararehe, ko te mea i mua rā, ā, kāhore nei ināianei, he tuawaru anō ia, nō ngā tokowhitu anō hoki; ā, e riro ana ia ki te whakangaromanga.
11 A besta que era e já não é, é também o oitavo rei, e é dos sete, e vai-se para a perdição.
12 “Nā, ko ngā hāona kotahi tekau i kite rā koe, kotahi tekau ērā kīngi, kāhore anō kia whiwhi noa ki tētahi rangatiratanga; heoi, kotahi te hāora e whiwhi tahi ai rātou ko te kararehe ki te mana, me te mea he kīngi.
12 Os dez chifres que viste são dez reis, os quais ainda não receberam o reino, mas receberão autoridade, como reis, por uma hora, juntamente com a besta.
13 Kotahi tonu te whakaaro nui a ēnei, e hoatu anō e rātou tō rātou kaha, tō rātou mana ki te kararehe.
13 Estes têm um mesmo intento, e entregarão o seu poder e autoridade à besta.
14 E whawhai anō ēnei ki te Reme, e taea anō rātou e te Reme. Nō te mea ko te Ariki ia o ngā ariki, ko te Kīngi o ngā kīngi. Ā, ka taea anō hoki e rātou ko ōna hoa, ko te hunga he mea karanga, he mea whiriwhiri, he hunga pono.”
14 Estes combaterão contra o Cordeiro, e o Cordeiro os vencerá, porque é o Senhor dos senhores e o Rei dos reis; vencerão também os que estão com ele, os chamados, e eleitos, e fiéis.
15 I mea mai anō ia ki ahau, “Ko ngā wai i kitea e koe i te nohoanga o te wahine kairau rā, ko ngā huihuinga tāngata rātou, ko ngā mano, ko ngā iwi, ko ngā reo.
15 Disse-me ainda: As águas que viste, onde se assenta a prostituta, são povos, multidões, nações e línguas.
16 Nā, ko ngā hāona kotahi tekau i kitea e koe, me te kararehe, e kino anō ēnei ki te wahine kairau, ka meinga ia e rātou kia mōtī rawa iho, kia noho tahanga, e kai anō rātou i ōna kikokiko, e tahu hoki i a ia kia pau rawa i te ahi.
16 E os dez chifres que viste, e a besta, estes odiarão a prostituta e a tornarão desolada e nua, e comerão as suas carnes, e a queimarão no fogo.
17 Kua hoatu hoki e te Atua ki ō rātou ngākau kia whakarite i tāna i pai ai, kia kotahi anō hoki ō rātou whakaaro, kia hoatu hoki e rātou tō rātou rangatiratanga ki te kararehe, kia rite rā anō ngā kupu a te Atua.
17 Porque Deus lhes pôs nos corações o executarem o intento dele, chegarem a um acordo, e entregarem à besta o seu reino, até que se cumpram as palavras de Deus.
18 “Nā, ko te wahine i kite nā koe, ko te pā nui ia, kei a ia nei te kīngitanga i runga i ngā kīngi o te ao.”
18 E a mulher que viste é a grande cidade que reina sobre os reis da terra.
