1 An Instruction of Asaph. O God, have You cast [us] off forever? Will Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?
1 Por que nos rejeitaste definitivamente, ó Deus? Por que se acende a tua ira contra as ovelhas da tua pastagem?
2 Remember Your congregation, [which] You have purchased of old, the rod of Your inheritance which You have redeemed; this mount Zion in [which] You have dwelt.
2 Lembra-te do povo que adquiriste em tempos passados, da tribo da tua herança, que resgataste, do monte Sião, onde habitaste.
3 Lift up Your feet to the never-ending ruins, even all that the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary.
3 Volta os teus passos para aquelas ruínas irreparáveis, para toda a destruição que o inimigo causou em teu santuário.
4 Your enemies roar in the midst of Your congregation; they set up their own banners [for] signs.
4 Teus adversários gritaram triunfantes bem no local onde te encontravas conosco, e hastearam suas bandeiras em sinal de vitória.
5 He is known as one bringing axes on high, on the thick trees.
5 Pareciam homens armados com machados invadindo um bosque cerrado.
6 And now all its carvings too, they break down with axes and hammers.
6 Com seus machados e machadinhas esmigalharam todos os revestimentos de madeira esculpida.
7 They have cast fire into Your sanctuary; they have defiled the dwelling-place of Your name to the ground.
7 Atearam fogo ao teu santuário; profanaram o lugar da habitação do teu nome.
8 They said in their hearts, Together let us rage against them; they have burned up all God's meeting-places in the land.
8 Disseram no coração: "Vamos acabar com eles! " Queimaram todos os santuários do país.
9 We did not see our signs; [there is] no prophet any more; neither [is there] among us any who knows how long.
9 Já não vemos sinais miraculosos; não há mais profetas, e nenhum de nós sabe até quando isso continuará.
10 O God, how long shall the enemy speak evil? Shall the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?
10 Até quando o adversário irá zombar, ó Deus? Será que o inimigo blasfemará o teu nome para sempre?
11 Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Draw [it] out of Your bosom.
11 Por que reténs a tua mão, a tua mão direita? Não fiques de braços cruzados! Destrói-os!
12 For God [is] my king of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth,
12 Mas tu, ó Deus, és o meu rei desde a antigüidade; trazes salvação sobre a terra.
13 You divide the sea by Your strength; You break the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.
13 Tu dividiste o mar pelo teu poder; quebraste as cabeças das serpentes das águas.
14 You cracked open the heads of leviathan, and gave him to [be food] to the people living in the wilderness.
14 Esmagaste as cabeças do Leviatã e o deste por comida às criaturas do deserto.
15 You divide the fountain and the flood; You dry up mighty rivers.
15 Tu abriste fontes e regatos; secaste rios perenes.
16 The day [is] Yours, the night also [is] Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun.
16 O dia é teu, e tua também é a noite; estabeleceste o sol e a lua.
17 You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.
17 Determinaste todas as fronteiras da terra; fizeste o verão e o inverno.
18 Remember this, the enemy has cursed, O LORD, and the foolish people have blasphemed Your name.
18 Lembra-te de como o inimigo tem zombado de ti, ó Senhor, como os insensatos têm blasfemado o teu nome.
19 Do not deliver the soul of Your turtle dove to the multitude; forget not the congregation of Your poor forever.
19 Não entregues a vida da tua pomba aos animais selvagens; não te esqueças para sempre da vida do teu povo indefeso.
20 Look to the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the houses of evil.
20 Dá atenção à tua aliança, porque de antros de violência se enchem os lugares sombrios do país.
21 Oh let not the ill-treated ones return ashamed; let the poor and needy praise Your name.
21 Não deixes que o oprimido se retire humilhado! Faze que o pobre e o necessitado louvem o teu nome.
22 Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; remember how the foolish man curses You daily.
22 Levanta-te, ó Deus, e defende a tua causa; lembra-te de como os insensatos zombam de ti sem cessar.
23 Forget not the voice of Your enemies; the noise of those who rise up against You keeps on increasing.
23 Não ignores a gritaria dos teus adversários, o crescente tumulto dos teus inimigos.
