1 Nyaso bisinkli bɛyɛ asa bua saa eto okle buyifo. Bilǝkǝ mi ǝsuǝ bitsyiko lǝ sediatɛyitɛyi, ǝnǝmi ǝnǝmi eto nkpǝsiǝsiǝ, kutsyuǝsɛkpɔnkpɔ, ku utidi eto diyebiasǝbiasǝ ǝsuǝ.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Bela Onanto eto ditiki tinti nǝmǝ fe kase bebisambi laala mmintu kekleke bǝ lǝ bebe bekpe lǝ mi bofo kanɔ ǝsuǝ fe kase Onanto laala.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Itsyise Anantotiki átɛyi nkǝ, “Mi kosate ebunyǝ kase Bonamute nkpe kafo ɛkpɛ.”
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Bibǝ Bonamute ɔflɔ. Wǝ ni nkpǝ eto leba nǝ batonto lɛni bǝ dimbǝ kulesa nti, fɛɛ Onanto ǝlǝkǝ ni utsyǝ nkǝ lefo koya tinti lǝ wǝ ǝnǝmi.

5 Mi tsya eyifo fe aba nnya nkpe nkpǝ, nyaso bifi mi ǝsuǝ bitǝ Onanto lǝ oto lɛwɔnɔ eto diyo. Diyo nǝmfo kafo biɔkɛ fe besumunyǝ kɛnkɛ, nya biɔyɛ lǝ Yesu Kristo ǝsuǝ bitǝ Onanto Lɛwɔnɔ eto kedi ka lɔɔkɛ wǝ ɔkɔɛ.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Itsyise Awɔnisa Kɛnkɛ eto Kukue átɛyi nkǝ,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Nya leba nǝmfo áfo koya tinti lǝ mimba lefo wǝ bɛnɔ ɔflɔ, nya lǝ mba dímamfo wǝ banɔ ɔflɔɔ, ele bǝ bate bǝnkǝ, diyifo
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Nya Awɔnisa Kɛnkɛ eto Kukue eto lekpa ditsyuǝ tsya átɛyi nkǝ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Fɛɛ mii, biyifo betidi ba Onanto dílǝkǝ utsyǝ fe besumunyǝ ba laatɛsɛ wǝ wǝ ni oka, ku kusǝ kenke ko bákpo atsyɔ, Onanto eto betidi ba bǝlǝkǝ bǝtsyǝ bǝ babe Onanto eto eyifosa kplɛ nyamǝ letsya. Nya ókpadi mi utsyiko lǝ ketuntu kamǝ kǝmiǝ óboko wǝ diyǝnde kplɛ nǝmǝ ǝsuǝ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Lefe ditsyuǝ nǝ léfee, bíenyifo Onanto eto betidi fɛ mɔmɔɔ, biyifo wǝ betidi. Fɛ lefe nǝ léfe mǝǝ, báante Onanto eto kaminsǝnyǝnyǝ fɛ mɔɔ, biofo wǝ kaminsǝnyǝnyǝ.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Mɔ balala, nlɛ mi kɔlɛ bɔlɛ fe mba ni bafɔ ku mba nyɛ kusu lǝ kawunsiǝ kamfo minkǝ, bilǝkǝ ǝsuǝ bitsyiko lǝ etidisuǝ eto alasa bua nnya nlɛ lema bɔkpɔnko mi lefe saa ǝsuǝ.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Bisiǝ nkpǝ sɛɛ lǝ bamamonyǝ ba nti benkpe bǝ lǝ bédi etiki bua lǝ mi ǝsuǝ bǝ biyifo babuayifo tsyaa, kamaa, lǝ bǝbǝ bǝnyǝ bǝtsyǝ lekpo kasɛɛ ka bíyifo bítsyǝ itǝ lǝ batɛsǝ Onanto lǝ wǝ Lekpoyi Fɛfɛ nǝmǝ.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Lǝ Bonamute ǝmǝ esoo, bebokosǝ ǝsuǝ kasɔ bitǝ betidi eto aba saa ke bǝtsyǝ lǝ kɔfi ǝsuǝ ku Romafɔ eto Okankplɛ wǝ ni uninǝ kenke,
13 — ausente —
14 ku aba eto bǝnyɛsiǝ ba útǝ ǝsuǝale nkǝ bǝnǝ babuayifo koto nya lǝ batɛsǝ betidi ba leeyifo kasɛɛ tsya.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Itsyise Onanto aala nkǝ biti mba ini ebukitiki ete beedi eto nyɛ lǝ asa sɛɛ nya bieyifo eso.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Bisiǝ nkpǝ fe betidi ba nsi lǝ mi ǝsuǝ ǝsuǝ. Fɛɛ biemfi mi ǝsuǝ ǝsuǝ busiǝ bomfo biyifo asa bua. Bomu bisiǝ nkpǝ fe Onanto eto ndomufɔ seka.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Bitǝ utidi saa dibu. Bela mi bafokanɔfɔ tsyuǝ. Bete Onanto sikpi. Nya lǝ bitǝ Okankplɛ tsya dibu.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Mimba ni beyifoyifoo, bebokosǝ mi ǝsuǝ kasɔ bitǝ mi banamute lǝ bibu mǝ tsya. Nya inni banamute ba nkpe kafo ɛkpɛ nya baala mi ete, bomu mba leeyifo mi disiale tsya.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Lǝ utsyuǝ lǝ kanyi bunyǝ lǝ kusu ko dimantsyɛ ǝsuǝ fɛ ini lǝ Onanto eto disi eso uńyǝ keklekee, Onanto ebokpo wǝ atsyɔ.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Lǝ bíyifo kabua nya lǝ nnya eso bǝnǝ mi kotoo, nte atɛsǝ nnya biunyǝ lǝ nnya ǝsuǝ? Fɛɛ lǝ bíyifo kasɛɛ nya bínyǝ kanyi lǝ ke buyifo esuǝǝ, Onanto ebokpo mi atsyɔ lǝ nnya disi.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Nya nyamfo ni nnya Onanto lela nkǝ bikeyifo nɛ. Itsyise Kristo kosate ǝnyǝ kanyi lǝ mi disi nya óte mi nkǝ bɛyɛ lǝ wǝ kayɛkɔ.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Wényifo lebua saa,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Se báka wǝǝ, wánka kuutsyuǝ saa lǝ nnya kɛnyɛ. Se báte wǝ ohiã wénkudi wǝ balo saa. Bomu úfi lesa saa útǝ Onanto wǝ laakpo lekpo lǝ kusu ǝsuǝ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Kristo kosate léfo bo abua útsyi, úsu úkpe lǝ uyikabie ǝsuǝ. Úyifo nyamfo nko bǝ lǝ bɔbɔ butsyi lǝ bo abua ǝsuǝ lǝ busiǝ nkpǝ butǝ kasɛyifoyifo. Úfi afabe nnya ófo ótsya mi bufi.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Lǝ ɔnukualɛ ǝsuǝǝ, kɔɔ bíyifo fe basamu ba lénya kusu. Fɛɛ mɔmɔɔ, Onanto ákpa mi óboko bǝ bitǝkǝko nwǝ laayɛnko mi ku nwǝ laase mi ɔflɔ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
