1 Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; for unto the righteous praise is comely.
1 Cantem de alegria ao S enhor , vocês que são justos; é apropriado que os íntegros o louvem.
2 Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the tenstringed psaltery do ye sing praises unto him.
2 Celebrem ao S enhor com melodias da harpa, toquem música para ele com instrumento de dez cordas.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
3 Entoem para ele um novo cântico, toquem com habilidade e cantem com alegria.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works are done in truth.
4 Pois a palavra do S enhor é verdadeira e podemos confiar em tudo que ele faz.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
5 Ele ama o que é justo e bom; o amor do S
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
6 O S enhor falou, e os céus foram criados; pelo sopro de sua boca as estrelas nasceram.
7 He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in storehouses the depths of the sea.
7 Determinou os limites do mar e juntou os oceanos em reservatórios.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
8 Que o mundo inteiro tema o S enhor , e todos os habitantes da terra tremam diante dele.
9 For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
9 Pois, quando ele falou, o mundo veio a existir; tudo surgiu por sua ordem.
10 The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
10 O S enhor desfaz os planos das nações e frustra os projetos dos povos.
11 The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
11 Mas os planos do S enhor permanecem para sempre; seus propósitos jamais serão abalados.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
12 Como é feliz a nação cujo Deus é o S enhor , cujo povo ele escolheu para lhe pertencer!
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
13 O S enhor olha dos céus e vê toda a humanidade.
14 From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
14 De seu trono ele observa todos os habitantes da terra.
15 He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
15 Formou o coração de cada um; por isso, entende tudo que fazem.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
16 Nem mesmo um poderoso exército pode salvar um rei; grande força não é suficiente para livrar um guerreiro.
17 Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
17 Não confie em seu cavalo de guerra para obter vitória; apesar de toda a sua força, ele não é capaz de salvá-lo.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
18 O S enhor , porém, está atento aos que o temem, aos que esperam por seu amor.
19 To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
19 Ele os livra da morte e os conserva com vida em tempos de fome.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
20 Nossa esperança está no S enhor ; ele é nosso auxílio e nosso escudo.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
21 Nele nosso coração se alegra, pois confiamos em seu santo nome.
22 Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
22 Que o teu amor nos cerque, S enhor , pois só em ti temos esperança.
