1 Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; for unto the righteous praise is comely.
1 Exultem no Senhor , ó justos! Aos que são retos fica bem louvá-lo.
2 Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the tenstringed psaltery do ye sing praises unto him.
2 Louvem o Senhor com harpa, louvem-no com cânticos na lira de dez cordas.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
3 Cantem-lhe um cântico novo, toquem com arte e com júbilo.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works are done in truth.
4 Porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, e todo o seu proceder é fiel.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
5 Ele ama a justiça e o direito; a terra está cheia da bondade do
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
6 Os céus por sua palavra se fizeram, e, pelo sopro de sua boca, o exército deles.
7 He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in storehouses the depths of the sea.
7 Ele ajunta em montão as águas do mar; e em reservatório encerra os abismos.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
8 Que toda a terra tema o Senhor , que tremam todos os habitantes do mundo.
9 For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
9 Pois ele falou, e tudo se fez; ele ordenou, e tudo passou a existir.
10 The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
10 O Senhor frustra os planos das nações e anula os intentos dos povos.
11 The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
11 O plano do Senhor dura para sempre; os intentos do seu coração, por todas as gerações.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
12 Feliz a nação cujo Deus é o e o povo que ele escolheu para a sua herança.
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
13 O Senhor olha dos céus e vê todos os filhos dos homens;
14 From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
14 do lugar de sua morada, observa todos os moradores da terra,
15 He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
15 ele, que forma o coração de todos eles, que contempla todas as suas obras.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
16 Não há rei que se salve com o poder dos seus exércitos; nem por sua muita força se livra o valente.
17 Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
17 O cavalo não garante a vitória; apesar de sua grande força, a ninguém pode livrar.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
18 Eis que os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericórdia,
19 To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
19 para livrar a alma deles da morte, e, no tempo da fome, conservar-lhes a vida.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
20 Nossa alma espera no Senhor , nosso auxílio e escudo.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
21 Nele, o nosso coração se alegra, pois confiamos no seu santo nome.
22 Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
22 Seja sobre nós, Senhor , a tua misericórdia, como de ti esperamos.
