1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
1 Junto aos rios da Babilônia nós nos sentamos e choramos com saudade de Sião.
2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof;
2 Ali, nos salgueiros penduramos as nossas harpas;
3 when there, those that carried us away captive asked us for the words of the song; [with] our harps of joy [hung upon the willows saying], Sing us [one] of the songs of Zion.
3 ali os nossos captores pediam-nos canções, os nossos opressores exigiam canções alegres, dizendo: "Cantem para nós uma das canções de Sião! "
4 How shall we sing the song of the LORD in [the] land of strangers?
4 Como poderíamos cantar as canções do Senhor numa terra estrangeira?
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, my right hand shall be forgotten.
5 Que a minha mão direita definhe, ó Jerusalém, se eu me esquecer de ti!
6 If I do not remember thee, my tongue shall cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not prefer to lift up Jerusalem as my chief joy.
6 Que a língua se me grude ao céu da boca, se eu não me lembrar de ti, e não considerar Jerusalém a minha maior alegria!
7 Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it], [even] to the foundation thereof.
7 Lembra-te, Senhor, dos edomitas e do que fizeram quando Jerusalém foi destruída, pois gritavam: "Arrasem-na! Arrasem-na até aos alicerces! "
8 O daughter of Babylon, [who art to be] destroyed; happy [shall he be], that rewards thee as thou hast served us.
8 Ó cidade de Babilônia, destinada à destruição, feliz aquele que lhe retribuir o mal que você nos fez!
9 Happy [shall he be], that takes and dashes thy offspring against the stones.:
9 Feliz aquele que pegar os seus filhos e os despedaçar contra a rocha!
