1 What advantage then has the Jew? or what profit [is there] of circumcision?
1 Qual é, logo, a vantagem do judeu? Ou qual a utilidade da circuncisão?
2 Much in every way: first, certainly, that the oracles of God have been entrusted unto them.
2 Muita, em toda maneira, porque, primeiramente, as palavras de Deus lhe foram confiadas.
3 For what if some of them did not believe? Shall their unbelief have made the truth of God without effect?
3 Pois quê? Se alguns foram incrédulos, a sua incredulidade aniquilará a fidelidade de Deus?
4 No, in no wise: for God is true, and every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy words and might overcome when thou dost judge.
4 De maneira nenhuma! Sempre seja Deus verdadeiro, e todo homem mentiroso, como está escrito: Para que sejas justificado em tuas palavras e venças quando fores julgado.
5 And if our iniquity commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Shall [for this reason] God be unjust who sends punishment? (I speak as a man.)
5 E, se a nossa injustiça for causa da justiça de Deus, que diremos? Porventura, será Deus injusto, trazendo ira sobre nós? ( Falo como homem.)
6 No, in no wise: for then how shall God judge the world?
6 De maneira nenhuma! Doutro modo, como julgará Deus o mundo?
7 For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie unto his glory, why even so am I also judged as a sinner?
7 Mas, se pela minha mentira abundou mais a verdade de Deus para glória sua, por que sou eu ainda julgado também como pecador?
8 And why not say (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of whom is just.
8 E por que não dizemos (como somos blasfemados, e como alguns dizem que dizemos): Façamos males, para que venham bens? A condenação desses é justa.
9 What then? Are we better [than they]? No, in no wise; for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles that they are all under sin;
9 Pois quê? Somos nós mais excelentes? De maneira nenhuma! Pois já dantes demonstramos que, tanto judeus como gregos, todos estão debaixo do pecado,
10 as it is written, There is no one righteous, no, not one;
10 como está escrito: Não há um justo, nem um sequer.
11 there is no one that understands; there is no one that seeks after God.
11 Não há ninguém que entenda; não há ninguém que busque a Deus.
12 They are all gone out of the way; they are together become unprofitable; there is no one that does good, no, not one.
12 Todos se extraviaram e juntamente se fizeram inúteis. Não há quem faça o bem, não há nem um só.
13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips,
13 A sua garganta é um sepulcro aberto; com a língua tratam enganosamente; peçonha de áspides está debaixo de seus lábios;
14 whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness;
14 cuja boca está cheia de maldição e amargura.
15 their feet [are] swift to shed blood;
15 Os seus pés são ligeiros para derramar sangue.
16 destruction and misery [are] in their ways,
16 Em seus caminhos há destruição e miséria;
17 and the way of peace they have not known;
17 e não conheceram o caminho da paz.
18 there is no fear of God before their eyes.
18 Não há temor de Deus diante de seus olhos.
19 Now we know that all that the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may submit themselves unto God.
19 Ora, nós sabemos que tudo o que a lei diz aos que estão debaixo da lei o diz, para que toda boca esteja fechada e todo o mundo seja condenável diante de Deus.
20 For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
20 Por isso, nenhuma carne será justificada diante dele pelas obras da lei, porque pela lei vem o conhecimento do pecado.
21 But now, without the law, the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets:
21 Mas, agora, se manifestou, sem a lei, a justiça de Deus, tendo o testemunho da Lei e dos Profetas,
22 the righteousness, that is, of God by the faith of Jesus, the Christ, for all and upon all those that believe in him, for there is no difference;
22 isto é, a justiça de Deus pela fé em Jesus Cristo para todos e sobre todos os que creem; porque não há diferença.
23 for all have sinned and are made destitute of the glory of God,
23 Porque todos pecaram e destituídos estão da glória de Deus,
24 [being] justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus, the Christ,
24 sendo justificados gratuitamente pela sua graça, pela redenção que há em Cristo Jesus,
25 whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God,
25 ao qual Deus propôs para propiciação pela fé no seu sangue, para demonstrar a sua justiça pela remissão dos pecados dantes cometidos, sob a paciência de Deus;
26 manifesting in this time his righteousness that he [only] be the just [one] and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.
26 para demonstração da sua justiça neste tempo presente, para que ele seja justo e justificador daquele que tem fé em Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No, but by [the] law of faith.
27 Onde está, logo, a jactância? É excluída. Por qual lei? Das obras? Não! Mas pela lei da fé.
28 Therefore, we conclude that [a] man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
28 Concluímos, pois, que o homem é justificado pela fé, sem as obras da lei.
29 [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [Is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,
29 É, porventura, Deus somente dos judeus? E não o é também dos gentios? Também dos gentios, certamente.
30 seeing [it is] one God who shall justify the circumcision by faith and [the] uncircumcision by faith.
30 Se Deus é um só, que justifica, pela fé, a circuncisão e, por meio da fé, a incircuncisão,
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? No, in no wise; to the contrary, we establish the law.:
31 anulamos, pois, a lei pela fé? De maneira nenhuma! Antes, estabelecemos a lei.
