Provérbios 11

1 A false balance [is] abomination to the LORD, but a just weight [is] his delight.
1 Balança enganosa é abominação para o Senhor , mas o peso justo é o seu prazer.
2 [When] pride comes, then comes shame, but with the humble [is] wisdom.
2 Vindo a soberba, virá também a afronta; mas com os humildes está a sabedoria.
3 The perfection of the upright shall guide them in the way, but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
3 A sinceridade dos sinceros os encaminhará, mas a perversidade dos desleais os destruirá.
4 Riches shall not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness shall deliver from death.
4 Não aproveitam as riquezas no dia da ira, mas a justiça livra da morte.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall straighten his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
5 A justiça do sincero endireitará o seu caminho, mas o ímpio, pela sua impiedade, cairá.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but transgressors shall be imprisoned in [their own] sin.
6 A justiça dos virtuosos os livrará, mas, na sua perversidade, serão apanhados os iníquos.
7 When the wicked man dies, [his] hope perishes, and the hope of unjust [men] shall perish.
7 Morrendo o homem ímpio, perece a sua expectação, e a esperança da iniquidade perde-se.
8 The righteous is delivered out of the tribulation, and the wicked takes his place.
8 O justo é libertado da angústia, e o ímpio fica em seu lugar.
9 The hypocrite with [his] mouth destroys his neighbour, but the just are delivered with wisdom.
9 O hipócrita, com a boca, danifica o seu próximo, mas os justos são libertados pelo conhecimento.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, [there are] feasts.
10 No bem dos justos, exulta a cidade; e, perecendo os ímpios, há júbilo.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
11 Pela bênção dos sinceros, se exalta a cidade, mas pela boca dos ímpios é derribada.
12 He that is void of understanding despises his neighbour, but the intelligent man remains silent.
12 O que despreza o seu próximo é falto de sabedoria, mas o homem de entendimento cala-se.
13 A talebearer reveals secrets, but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
13 O que anda praguejando descobre o segredo, mas o fiel de espírito encobre o negócio.
14 When intelligence is lacking, the people shall fall, but in the multitude of counsellors [there is] salvation.
14 Não havendo sábia direção, o povo cai, mas, na multidão de conselheiros, há segurança.
15 With anxiety shall he that is surety for a stranger be afflicted, and he that hates suretyship shall live securely.
15 Decerto sofrerá severamente aquele que fica por fiador do estranho, mas o que aborrece a fiança estará seguro.
16 The gracious woman retains honour, and strong [men] retain riches.
16 A mulher aprazível guarda a honra, como os violentos guardam as riquezas.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul, but the cruel [man] troubles his own flesh.
17 O homem benigno faz bem à sua própria alma, mas o cruel perturba a sua própria carne.
18 The wicked works a deceitful work, but to him that sows righteousness [shall be] a sure reward.
18 O ímpio recebe um salário enganoso, mas, para o que semeia justiça, haverá galardão certo.
19 As righteousness [is] unto life, so he that pursues evil [pursues it] unto his own death.
19 Como a justiça encaminha para a vida, assim o que segue o mal faz isso para sua morte.
20 They that are of a perverse heart [are an] abomination to the LORD, but [such as are] perfect in [their] way [are] his delight.
20 Abominação para o Senhor são os perversos de coração, mas os que são perfeitos em seu caminho são o seu deleite.
21 No matter how many covenants he has made with death, the wicked shall not be absolved, but the seed of the righteous shall escape.
21 Ainda que o mau junte mão à mão, não ficará sem castigo, mas a semente dos justos escapará.
22 [As] a gold ring in a swine's snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without discretion.
22 Como joia de ouro em focinho de porca, assim é a mulher formosa que se aparta da razão.
23 The desire of the righteous [is] only good, [but] the hope of the wicked [is] wrath.
23 O desejo dos justos é somente o bem, mas a esperança dos ímpios é a ira.
24 There are [those who] scatter, and more is added unto [them]; and [there are those who] withhold more than is just, but [come] to poverty.
24 Alguns há que espalham, e ainda se lhes acrescenta mais; e outros, que retêm mais do que é justo, mas é para a sua perda.
25 The soul who is a blessing [unto others] shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself.
25 A alma generosa engordará, e o que regar também será regado.
26 He that withholds the grain, the people shall curse him, but blessing [shall be] upon the head of him that sells [it].
26 Ao que retém o trigo o povo o amaldiçoa, mas bênção haverá sobre a cabeça do vendedor.
27 He that seeks good early shall find favour, but unto him that seeks evil, [it] shall come upon him.
27 O que busca cedo o bem busca favor, mas ao que procura o mal, este lhe sobrevirá.
28 He that trusts in his riches shall fall, but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
28 Aquele que confia nas suas riquezas cairá, mas os justos reverdecerão como a rama.
29 He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind, and the fool [shall be] servant to the wise of heart.
29 O que perturba a sua casa herdará o vento, e o tolo será servo do sábio de coração.
30 The fruit of the righteous [is a] tree of life, and he that wins souls [is] wise.
30 O fruto do justo é árvore de vida, e o que ganha almas sábio é.
31 The righteous shall certainly be recompensed in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!:
31 Eis que o justo é punido na terra; quanto mais o ímpio e o pecador!
