1 And Job replied and said,
1 Então Jó respondeu, e disse:
2 How long will ye anguish my soul and break me in pieces with words?
2 Por quanto tempo aborrecerás a minha alma, e me quebrareis em pedaços com palavras?
3 These ten times ye have reproached me; are ye not ashamed to make yourselves strange to me?
3 Já dez vezes me reprovastes; não vos envergonhais de que vos fazeis estranhos para mim.
4 And if indeed I have erred, my error shall remain with me.
4 E ainda que eu tenha realmente errado, o meu erro permanece comigo.
5 If indeed ye will magnify [yourselves] against me and reprove me of my reproach,
5 Se deveras vos engrandecerdes contra mim, e pleiteardes minha vergonha contra mim,
6 know now that God has overthrown me and has compassed me with his net.
6 sabei agora que Deus me derrubou, e me cercou com a sua rede.
7 Behold, I shall cry out that I have been wronged, and I shall not be heard; I shall cry aloud, and [there] shall be no judgment.
7 Eis que eu clamo por causa do que é errado, mas não sou ouvido. Eu grito alto, mas não há julgamento.
8 He has walled off my way and I shall not pass, and he has set darkness in my paths.
8 Ele cercou o meu caminho para que eu não possa passar, e pôs trevas em minhas veredas.
9 He has stripped me of my glory and taken the crown [from] my head.
9 Ele me despiu de minha glória, e tomou a coroa da minha cabeça.
10 He has pulled me up on every side, and I am dried up; he has caused my hope to pass like an uprooted tree.
10 Destruiu-me de todos os lados, e fui extinto; minha esperança ele arrancou como a uma árvore.
11 He has kindled his wrath against me, and he counted me unto him as [one of] his enemies.
11 E ele também acendeu sua ira contra mim, e me considera como um de seus inimigos.
12 His troops came together and raised up their way over me and encamp round about my tent.
12 Suas tropas vêm juntas, e preparam seu caminho contra mim, e acampam ao redor do meu tabernáculo.
13 He has put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintances are verily estranged from me.
13 Ele pôs os meus irmãos longe de mim, e os meus conhecidos estão verdadeiramente distantes de mim.
14 My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
14 Os meus parentes me desapontaram, e meus amigos íntimos se esqueceram de mim.
15 Those that dwell in my house and my maids have counted me for a stranger; I was an alien in their sight.
15 Aqueles que habitam em minha casa, e minhas servas me consideram um estranho; eu sou um estrangeiro à sua vista.
16 I called my servant, and he gave [me] no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
16 Eu chamei o meu servo, e ele não me deu resposta. Supliquei-lhe com a minha boca.
17 My spirit came to be strange to my wife, although I intreated her for the sons of my own body.
17 O meu hálito é estranho para minha esposa; embora eu suplicasse por causa dos filhos do meu próprio corpo.
18 Even the young children despised me; as I arose, they spoke against me.
18 Sim, os filhos mais novos me desprezaram; levantei-me e eles falaram contra mim.
19 All my intimate friends abhorred me; and those whom I loved are turned against me.
19 Todos os meus amigos íntimos me abominaram, e aqueles aos quais eu amava se voltaram contra mim.
20 My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
20 Meu osso se racha até minha pele e minha carne, e escapei com a pele de meus dentes.
21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God has touched me.
21 Piedade, piedade de mim; ó vós, meus amigos, porque a mão de Deus me tocou.
22 Why do ye persecute me as God and are not satisfied with my flesh?
22 Por que me perseguis como Deus, e não ficais satisfeitos com a minha carne?
23 Oh, that my words were now written! Oh, that they were printed in a book!
23 Ó, se minhas palavras fossem agora escritas! Ó, se fossem impressas em um livro!
24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
24 Que fossem gravadas com uma pena de ferro e chumbadas na rocha para sempre!
25 For I know [that] my redeemer lives and [that] he shall rise at the latter [day] over the dust;
25 Porque eu sei que o meu Redentor vive, e que ele se levantará no último dia sobre a terra.
26 and afterward from this, my stricken skin and from my own flesh, I must see God:
26 E embora depois que meus vermes da pele destruírem este corpo, ainda assim, em minha carne eu verei Deus;
27 whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another, [though] my kidneys be consumed within me.
27 a quem verei por mim mesmo, e meus olhos o contemplarão; e não outros; embora os meus rins estejam consumidos dentro de mim.
28 But ye should say, Why should we persecute him, seeing that the root of the matter is found in me?
28 Mas devíeis dizer: Por que o perseguimos; vendo que a raiz da questão se encontra em mim?
29 Be ye afraid of the sword; for the wrath of the sword [comes] because of the iniquities, that ye may know [there is] a judgment.:
29 Temei vós a espada; porque a ira traz as punições da espada, para que saibais que há um juízo.
