¹ O thou that dwellest in the covert of the Most High, and abidest in the shadow of the Almighty;

¹ Aquele que habita no lugar secreto do Altíssimo, permanecerá debaixo da sombra do Onipotente.

² I will say of the LORD, who is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust,

² Eu direi do SENHOR: Ele é o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, meu Deus; nele eu confiarei.

³ That He will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

³ Certamente ele te livrará do laço do passarinheiro e da peste perniciosa.

⁴ He will cover thee with His pinions, and under His wings shalt thou take refuge; His truth is a shield and a buckler.

⁴ Ele te cobrirá com as suas penas, e debaixo das suas asas confiarás; sua verdade será o teu escudo e broquel.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flieth by day;

⁵ Tu não ficarás com medo pelo terror à noite, nem pela flecha que voa de dia.

⁶ Of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor of the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

⁶ Nem pela peste que anda nas trevas, nem pela destruição que devasta ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand may fall at Thy side, and ten thousand at Thy right hand; it shall not come nigh thee.

⁷ Mil cairão ao teu lado, e dez mil à tua direita; mas isso não chegará perto de ti.

⁸ Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the recompense of the wicked.

⁸ Apenas com os teus olhos contemplarás, e verás a recompensa do perverso.

⁹ For thou hast made the LORD who is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation.

⁹ Porque tu fizeste do SENHOR, que é o meu refúgio, o Altíssimo, a tua habitação.

¹⁰ There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

¹⁰ Nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga nenhuma chegará perto da tua habitação.

¹¹ For He will give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

¹¹ Pois ele dará aos seus anjos comando sobre ti, para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹² They shall bear thee upon their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹² Eles te carregarão em suas mãos, para que não tropeces o teu pé contra uma pedra.

¹³ Thou shalt tread upon the lion and asp; the young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under feet.

¹³ Tu pisarás sobre o leão e a víbora; esmagarás debaixo dos pés o leãozinho e o dragão.

¹⁴ 'Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.

¹⁴ Porque ele pôs o seu amor sobre mim, portanto eu o livrarei; eu o colocarei no alto, porque ele conheceu o meu nome.

¹⁵ He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and bring him to honour.

¹⁵ Ele clamará por mim, e eu o responderei; estarei com ele na tribulação; eu o livrarei e o honrarei.

¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and make Him to behold My salvation.'

¹⁶ Com vida longa eu o satisfarei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
