1 Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.
1 Louvado seja o S enhor ! Como é bom cantar louvores a nosso Deus! Como é agradável e apropriado!
2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem, He gathereth together the dispersed of Israel;
2 O S enhor reconstrói Jerusalém e traz os exilados de volta a Israel.
3 Who healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
3 Ele cura os de coração quebrantado e enfaixa suas feridas.
4 He counteth the number of the stars; He giveth them all their names.
4 Conta as estrelas e chama cada uma pelo nome.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.
5 Nosso Senhor é grande! Seu poder é absoluto! É impossível medir seu entendimento.
6 The LORD upholdeth the humble; He bringeth the wicked down to the ground.
6 O S enhor protege os humildes, mas lança os perversos no pó.
7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving, sing praises upon the harp unto our God;
7 Cantem com ações de graças ao S enhor , cantem ao nosso Deus louvores com a harpa.
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh the mountains to spring with grass.
8 Ele cobre os céus de nuvens, provê chuva para a terra e faz o capim crescer nos montes.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
9 Alimenta os animais selvagens e dá de comer aos filhotes dos corvos quando pedem.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh no pleasure in the legs of a man.
10 Seu prazer não está na força do cavalo, nem no poder humano.
11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that wait for His mercy.
11 O S enhor se agrada dos que o temem, dos que põem a esperança em seu amor.
12 Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
12 Exalte o S enhor , ó Jerusalém! Louve seu Deus, ó Sião!
13 For He hath made strong the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee.
13 Pois ele reforçou as trancas de suas portas e abençoou seus filhos dentro de seus muros.
14 He maketh thy borders peace; He giveth thee in plenty the fat of wheat.
14 Ele conserva a paz em suas fronteiras e satisfaz sua fome com o melhor trigo.
15 He sendeth out His commandment upon earth; His word runneth very swiftly.
15 Ele envia suas ordens ao mundo, e sua palavra corre veloz.
16 He giveth snow like wool; He scattereth the hoar-frost like ashes.
16 Envia a neve como lã branca e espalha a geada sobre a terra como cinzas.
17 He casteth forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?
17 Lança granizo como pedras; quem é capaz de suportar o frio intenso?
18 He sendeth forth His word, and melteth them; He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18 Então, por sua ordem, tudo se dissolve; envia seus ventos, e o gelo derrete.
19 He declareth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel.
19 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó, seus decretos e estatutos, a Israel.
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah.
