1 A prayer of the afflicted, when he shall be in distresse, and pour forth his meditation before the Lord. O Lord, heare my prayer, and let my crye come vnto thee.
1 Ouve a minha oração, Senhor! Chegue a ti o meu grito de socorro!
2 Hide not thy face from me in the time of my trouble: incline thine eares vnto me: when I call, make haste to heare me.
2 Não escondas de mim o teu rosto, quando estou atribulado. Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos; quando eu clamar, responde-me depressa!
3 For my dayes are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burnt like an herthe.
3 Esvaem-se os meus dias como fumaça; meus ossos queimam como brasas vivas.
4 Mine heart is smitten and withereth like grasse, because I forgate to eate my bread.
4 Como a relva ressequida está o meu coração; esqueço até de comer!
5 For the voyce of my groning my bones doe cleaue to my skinne.
5 De tanto gemer estou reduzido a pele e osso.
6 I am like a pelicane of the wildernesse: I am like an owle of the deserts.
6 Sou como a coruja do deserto, como uma coruja entre as ruínas.
7 I watch and am as a sparrowe alone vpon the house top.
7 Não consigo dormir; tornei-me como um pássaro solitário no telhado.
8 Mine enemies reuile me dayly, and they that rage against me, haue sworne against me.
8 Os meus inimigos zombam de mim o tempo todo; os que me insultam usam o meu nome para lançar maldições.
9 Surely I haue eaten asshes as bread, and mingled my drinke with weeping,
9 Cinzas são a minha comida, e com lágrimas misturo o que bebo,
10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast heaued me vp, and cast me downe.
10 por causa da tua indignação e da tua ira, pois me rejeitaste e me expulsaste para longe de ti.
11 My dayes are like a shadowe that fadeth, and I am withered like grasse.
11 Meus dias são como sombras crescentes; sou como a relva que vai murchando.
12 But thou, O Lord, doest remaine for euer, and thy remembrance from generation to generation.
12 Tu, porém, Senhor, no trono reinarás para sempre; o teu nome será lembrado de geração em geração.
13 Thou wilt arise and haue mercy vpon Zion: for the time to haue mercie thereon, for the appointed time is come.
13 Tu te levantarás e terás misericórdia de Sião, pois é hora de lhe mostrares compaixão; o tempo certo é chegado.
14 For thy seruants delite in the stones thereof, and haue pitie on the dust thereof.
14 Pois as suas pedras são amadas pelos teus servos, as suas ruínas os enchem de compaixão.
15 Then the heathen shall feare the Name of the Lord, and all the Kings of the earth thy glory,
15 Então as nações temerão o nome do Senhor, e todos os reis da terra a sua glória.
16 When the Lord shall build vp Zion, and shall appeare in his glory,
16 Porque o Senhor reconstruirá Sião e se manifestará na glória que ele tem.
17 And shall turne vnto the prayer of the desolate, and not despise their prayer.
17 Responderá à oração dos desamparados; as suas súplicas não desprezará.
18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people, which shalbe created, shall prayse the Lord.
18 Escreva-se isto para as futuras gerações, e um povo que ainda será criado louvará o Senhor, proclamando:
19 For he hath looked downe from the height of his Sanctuarie: out of the heauen did the Lord beholde the earth,
19 "Do seu santuário nas alturas o Senhor olhou; dos céus observou a terra,
20 That he might heare the mourning of the prisoner, and deliuer the children of death:
20 para ouvir os gemidos dos prisioneiros e libertar os condenados à morte".
21 That they may declare the Name of the Lord in Zion, and his prayse in Ierusalem,
21 Assim o nome do Senhor será anunciado em Sião e o seu louvor, em Jerusalém,
22 When the people shalbe gathered together, and the kingdomes to serue the Lord.
22 quando os povos e os reinos se reunirem para adorar ao Senhor.
23 He abated my strength in the way, and shortened my dayes.
23 No meio da minha vida ele me abateu com sua força; abreviou os meus dias.
24 And I sayd, O my God, take me not away in the middes of my dayes: thy yeeres endure from generation to generation.
24 Então pedi: "Ó meu Deus, não me leves no meio dos meus dias. Os teus dias duram por todas as gerações!
25 Thou hast aforetime layde the foundation of the earth, and the heauens are the worke of thine hands.
25 No princípio firmaste os fundamentos da terra, e os céus são obras das tuas mãos.
26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: euen they all shall waxe olde as doeth a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.
26 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás; envelhecerão como vestimentas. Como roupas tu os trocarás e serão jogados fora.
27 But thou art the same, and thy yeeres shall not fayle.
27 Mas tu permaneces o mesmo, e os teus dias jamais terão fim.
28 The children of thy seruants shall continue, and their seede shall stand fast in thy sight.
28 Os filhos dos teus servos terão uma habitação; os seus descendentes serão estabelecidos na tua presença".
