1 Bvt Iob answered, and sayde,
1 Jó, porém, respondeu e disse:
2 Whom helpest thou? him that hath no power? sauest thou the arme that hath no strength?
2 Como ajudaste aquele que não tinha força e sustentaste o braço que não tinha vigor!
3 Whome counsellest thou? him that hath no wisedome? thou shewest right well as the thing is.
3 Como aconselhaste aquele que não tinha sabedoria e plenamente lhe fizeste saber a causa, assim como era!
4 To whom doest thou declare these words? or whose spirit commeth out of thee?
4 Para quem proferiste palavras? E de quem é o espírito que saiu de ti?
5 The dead things are formed vnder the waters, and neere vnto them.
5 Os mortos tremem debaixo das águas com os seus moradores.
6 The graue is naked before him, and there is no couering for destruction.
6 O inferno está nu perante ele, e não há coberta para a perdição.
7 He stretcheth out the North ouer the emptie place, and hangeth the earth vpon nothing.
7 O norte estende sobre o vazio; suspende a terra sobre o nada.
8 He bindeth the waters in his cloudes, and the cloude is not broken vnder them.
8 Prende as águas em densas nuvens, e a nuvem não se rasga debaixo delas.
9 He holdeth backe the face of his throne: and spreadeth his cloude vpon it.
9 Encobre a face do seu trono e sobre ela estende a sua nuvem.
10 He hath set bounds about the waters, vntil the day and night come to an ende.
10 Marcou um limite à superfície das águas em redor, até aos confins da luz e das trevas.
11 The pillars of heauen tremble and quake at his reproofe.
11 As colunas do céu tremem e se espantam da sua ameaça.
12 The sea is calme by his power, and by his vnderstanding he smiteth the pride thereof.
12 Com a sua força fende o mar e com o seu entendimento abate a sua soberba.
13 His Spirite hath garnished the heauens, and his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
13 Pelo seu Espírito ornou os céus; a sua mão formou a serpente enroscadiça.
14 Loe, these are part of his wayes: but how litle a portion heare we of him? and who can vnderstand his fearefull power?
14 Eis que isto são apenas as orlas dos seus caminhos; e quão pouco é o que temos ouvido dele! Quem, pois, entenderia o trovão do seu poder?
