1 Let him kisse me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy loue is better then wine.
1 O mais belo dos Cânticos de Salomão.
2 Because of the sauour of thy good ointments thy name is as an ointment powred out: therefore the virgins loue thee.
2 - Ah! Beija-me com os beijos de tua boca! Porque os teus amores são mais deliciosos que o vinho,
3 Drawe me: we will runne after thee: the King hath brought me into his chabers: we will reioyce and be glad in thee: we will remember thy loue more then wine: the righteous do loue thee.
3 e suave é a fragrância de teus perfumes; o teu nome é como um perfume derramado: por isto amam-te as jovens.
4 I am blacke, O daughters of Ierusalem, but comely, as the tentes of Kedar, and as the curtaines of Salomon.
4 Arrasta-me após ti; corramos! O rei introduziu-me nos seus aposentos. Exultaremos de alegria e de júbilo em ti. Tuas carícias nos inebriarão mais que o vinho. Quanta razão há de te amar!
5 Regard ye me not because I am blacke: for the sunne hath looked vpon mee. The sonnes of my mother were angry against mee: they made me the keeper of ye vines: but I kept not mine owne vine.
5 Sou morena, mas sou bela, filhas de Jerusalém, como as tendas de Cedar, como os pavilhões de Salomão.
6 Shewe me, O thou, whome my soule loueth, where thou feedest, where thou liest at noone: for why should I be as she that turneth aside to the flockes of thy companions?
6 Não repareis em minha tez morena, pois fui queimada pelo sol. Os filhos de minha mãe irritaram-se contra mim; puseram-me a guardar as vinhas, mas não guardei a minha própria vinha.
7 If thou knowe not, O thou the fairest among women, get thee foorth by the steps of the flocke, and feede thy kiddes by the tents of the shepheards.
7 Dize-me, ó tu, que meu coração ama, onde apascentas o teu rebanho, onde o levas a repousar ao meio-dia, para que eu não ande vagueando junto aos rebanhos dos teus companheiros.
8 I haue compared thee, O my loue, to the troupe of horses in the charets of Pharaoh.
8 - Se não o sabes, ó mais bela das mulheres, vai, segue as pisadas da ovelhas, e apascenta os cabritos junto às cabanas dos pastores.
9 Thy cheekes are comely with rowes of stones, and thy necke with chaines.
9 - À égua dos carros do faraó eu te comparo, ó minha amiga;
10 We will make thee borders of golde with studdes of siluer.
10 tuas faces são graciosas entre os brincos, e o teu pescoço entre os colares de pérolas.
11 Whiles the King was at his repast, my spikenard gaue the smelll thereof.
11 Faremos para ti brincos de ouro com glóbulos de prata.
12 My welbeloued is as a bundle of myrrhe vnto me: he shall lie betweene my breasts.
12 - Enquanto o rei descansa em seu divã, meu nardo exala o seu perfume;
13 My welbeloued is as a cluster of camphire vnto me in the vines of Engedi.
13 meu bem-amado é para mim um saquitel de mirra, que repousa entre os meus seios;
14 My loue, beholde, thou art faire: beholde, thou art faire: thine eyes are like the doues.
14 meu bem-amado é para mim um cacho de uvas nas vinhas de Engadi.
15 My welbeloued, beholde, thou art faire and pleasant: also our bed is greene:
15 - Como és formosa, amiga minha! Como és bela! Teus olhos são como pombas.
16 The beames of our house are cedars, our rafters are of firre.
16 - Como é belo, meu amor! Como és encantador! Nosso leito é um leito verdejante,
17 — ausente —
17 as vigas de nossa casa são de cedro, suas traves de cipreste;
