1 And Jesus began to speak to them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and delved a pit, and builded a tower, and hired it (out) to earth-tillers, and went forth in pilgrimage, (or A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a hole for a winepress, and built a look-out tower, and hired it out to farmers, and went forth on a journey).
1 E começou a falar-lhes em parábolas. Um homem plantou uma vinha, cercou-a com uma sebe, cavou nela um lagar, edificou uma torre, arrendou-a a vinhateiros e ausentou-se daquela terra.
2 And he sent to the earth-tillers in time a servant, to receive of the earth-tillers of the fruit of the vineyard. (And in time he sent a servant to the farmers, to receive from the farmers some of the fruit from the vineyard.)
2 A seu tempo enviou aos vinhateiros um servo, para receber deles uma parte do produto da vinha.
3 And they took him, and beat him, and left him void (or and let him go away empty).
3 Ora, eles prenderam-no, feriram-no e reenviaram-no de mãos vazias.
4 And again he sent to them another servant, and they wounded him in the head, and tormented him [or and punished him with chidings, or reprovings].
4 Enviou-lhes de novo outro servo; também este feriram na cabeça e o cobriram de afrontas.
5 And again he sent another, and they slew him, and others more, beating some, and slaying others [or soothly they killed others].
5 O senhor enviou-lhes ainda um terceiro, mas o mataram. E enviou outros mais, dos quais feriram uns e mataram outros.
6 But yet he had a most dearworthy son, and he sent him last to them, and said, Peradventure they shall dread [with reverence] my son, (or Perhaps they shall fear my son, or Surely they shall revere, or respect, my son).
6 Restava-lhe ainda seu filho único, a quem muito amava. Enviou-o também por último a ir ter com eles, dizendo: Terão respeito a meu filho!...
7 But the earth-tillers said together, [or Forsooth the tenants said to themselves], (or But the tenants said to each other), This is the heir; come ye, slay we him, and the heritage shall be ours. (But the farmers said to each other, He is the heir; come, let us kill him, and then the inheritance shall be ours.)
7 Os vinhateiros, porém, disseram uns aos outros: Este é o herdeiro! Vinde, matemo-lo e será nossa a herança!
8 And they took him, and killed him, and casted him out without the vineyard (or and threw \+em him\+em* out of the vineyard).
8 Agarrando-o, mataram-no e lançaram-no fora da vinha.
9 Then what shall the lord of the vineyard do? He shall come, and lose the earth-tillers (or and destroy the farmers), [or He shall come, and lose the tenants \+sls (or and destroy the tenants)\+sls*], and give the vineyard to others.
9 Que fará, pois, o senhor da vinha? Virá e exterminará os vinhateiros e dará a vinha a outro.
10 Whether ye have not read this scripture, The stone which the builders have despised, this is made into the head of the corner?
10 Nunca lestes estas palavras da Escritura: A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram veio a tornar-se pedra angular.
11 This thing is done of the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
11 Isto é obra do Senhor, e ela é admirável aos nossos olhos {Sal 117,22s}?
12 And they sought to (take) hold (of) him, and they dreaded the people (or but they feared the people); for they knew that to them he (had) said this parable; and (so) they left him, and they went away.
12 Procuravam prendê-lo, mas temiam o povo; porque tinham entendido que a respeito deles dissera esta parábola. E deixando-o, retiraram-se.
13 And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and (some) of the Herodians, to take him in word (or to catch him with his own words).
13 Enviaram-lhe alguns fariseus e herodianos, para que o apanhassem em alguma palavra.
14 Which came, and said to him, Master, (or Teacher), we know that thou art soothfast, and reckest not (or takest no heed) of any man; for neither thou beholdest into the face of any man, but thou teachest the way of God in truth. Is it leaveful that tribute be given to the emperor, or we shall not give? (or Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or should we not pay them?)
14 Aproximaram-se dele e disseram-lhe: Mestre, sabemos que és sincero e que não lisonjeias a ninguém; porque não olhas para as aparências dos homens, mas ensinas o caminho de Deus segundo a verdade. É permitido que se pague o imposto a César ou não? Devemos ou não pagá-lo?
15 Which witting their privy falseness, said to them, What tempt ye me, [hypocrites]? (or Why do you hypocrites test me?) bring ye to me a penny, (so) that I (can) see (it).
15 Conhecendo-lhes a hipocrisia, respondeu-lhes Jesus: Por que me quereis armar um laço? Mostrai-me um denário.
16 And they brought (it) to him. And he said to them, Whose is this image, and the writing above (or upon it)? And they say to him, The emperor’s [or Caesar’s].
16 Apresentaram-lho. E ele perguntou-lhes: De quem é esta imagem e a inscrição? De César, responderam-lhe.
17 And Jesus answered and said to them, Then yield ye to the emperor those things that be the emperor’s [or Therefore yield ye to Caesar those things that be of Caesar]; and to God those things that be of God. And they wondered of him (or And they wondered about him).
17 Jesus então lhes replicou. Dai, pois, a César o que é de César e a Deus o que é de Deus. E admiravam-se dele.
18 And (some) Sadducees, that say that there is no resurrection, came to him, and asked him, and said,
18 Ora, vieram ter com ele os saduceus, que afirmam não haver ressurreição, e perguntaram-lhe:
19 Master, (or Teacher), Moses wrote to us, that if the brother of a man were dead, and left his wife, and have no sons, his brother take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
19 Mestre, Moisés prescreveu-nos: Se morrer o irmão de alguém, e deixar mulher sem filhos, seu irmão despo-se a viúva e suscite posteridade a seu irmão.
20 Then seven brethren there were, [or Therefore seven brethren were], (or And so there were seven brothers); and the first took a wife, and died, and left no seed.
20 Ora, havia sete irmãos; o primeiro casou e morreu sem deixar descendência.
21 And the second took her, and died, and neither he left seed. And the third also.
21 Então o segundo desposou a viúva, e morreu sem deixar posteridade. Do mesmo modo o terceiro.
22 And in like manner the seven took her, and left no seed. And the woman the last of all died.
22 E assim tomaram-na os sete, e não deixaram filhos. Por último, morreu também a mulher.
23 Then in the resurrection, when they shall rise again, whose wife of these shall she be? for seven had her to wife.
23 Na ressurreição, a quem destes pertencerá a mulher? Pois os sete a tiveram por mulher.
24 And Jesus answered, and said to them, Whether ye err not therefore, that ye know not [the] scriptures, neither the virtue of God? (And Jesus answered, and said to them, And so do ye not err, because ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God?)
24 Jesus respondeu-lhes: Errais, não compreendendo as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus.
25 For when they shall rise again from death, neither they shall wed, nor shall be wedded, but they shall be as (the) angels of God in heavens. [+Forsooth when they shall rise again from \+sls (the)\+sls* dead, neither they shall wed, neither shall be wedded, but they shall be as \+sls (the)\+sls* angels of God in heaven.]
25 Na ressurreição dos mortos, os homens não tomarão mulheres, nem as mulheres, maridos, mas serão como os anjos nos céus.
26 And of dead men, that they rise again, have ye not read in the book of Moses, on the bush (or in the bush), how God spake to him, and said, I am God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob?
26 Mas quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes no livro de Moisés como Deus lhe falou da sarça, dizendo: Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Êx 3, 6}?
27 He is not (the) God of dead men, but of living men; therefore ye err much.
27 Ele não é Deus de mortos, senão de vivos. Portanto, estais muito errados.
28 And one of the scribes, that had heard them disputing together, came nigh, and saw that Jesus had well-answered them, and asked him, [or and seeing that he had answered them well, asked him], which was the first commandment of all (or which is the first, or the greatest, commandment of all?).
28 Achegou-se dele um dos escribas que os ouvira discutir e, vendo que lhes respondera bem, indagou dele: Qual é o primeiro de todos os mandamentos?
29 And Jesus answered to him, That the first commandment of all is, Hear thou, Israel, thy Lord God is one God, [or Hear, Israel, the Lord thy God is one God]; (And Jesus answered to him, The first, or the greatest, commandment of all is this, Hear O Israel, the Lord thy God is one God;)
29 Jesus respondeu-lhe: O primeiro de todos os mandamentos é este: Ouve, Israel, o Senhor nosso Deus é o único Senhor;
30 and thou shalt love thy Lord God of all thine heart, and of all thy soul, and of all thy mind, and of all thy might, [or and thou shalt love the Lord thy God of all thine heart, and of all thy soul, and of all thy mind, and of all thy virtue, or might, or strength]. This is the first commandment (or This is the first, or the greatest, commandment of all).
30 amarás ao Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma, de todo o teu espírito e de todas as tuas forças.
31 And the second is like to this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
31 Eis aqui o segundo: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. Outro mandamento maior do que estes não existe.
32 And the scribe said to him, Master, (or Teacher), in truth thou hast well said; for one God is (or for there is but one God), and there is none other, except him;
32 Disse-lhe o escriba: Perfeitamente, Mestre, disseste bem que Deus é um só e que não há outro além dele.
33 [and] that he be loved of all the heart, and of all the mind, and of all the understanding, and of all the soul, and of all the strength, and to love the neighbour as himself, is greater, [or and to love thy neighbour as himself, is more], than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
33 E amá-lo de todo o coração, de todo o pensamento, de toda a alma e de todas as forças, e amar o próximo como a si mesmo, excede a todos os holocaustos e sacrifícios.
34 And Jesus seeing that he had answered wisely, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And then no man durst ask him more anything (or And then no one dared to ask him anything more).
34 Vendo Jesus que ele falara sabiamente, disse-lhe: Não estás longe do Reino de Deus. E já ninguém ousava fazer-lhe perguntas.
35 And Jesus answered and said, teaching in the temple, How say [the] scribes, that Christ is the son of David? (And Jesus said, teaching in the Temple, How can the scribes say, that the Messiah is the Son of David?)
35 Continuava Jesus a ensinar no templo e propôs esta questão: Como dizem os escribas que Cristo é o filho de Davi?
36 For David himself said in the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my lord, Sit [thou] on my right half, till I put thine enemies the stool of thy feet. (For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, or on my right side, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.)
36 Pois o mesmo Davi diz, inspirado pelo Espírito Santo: Disse o Senhor a meu Senhor: senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha os teus inimigos sob os teus pés {Sal 109,1}.
37 Then if David himself calleth him Lord, how then is he his son? And much people gladly heard him.
37 Ora, se o próprio Davi o chama Senhor, como então é ele seu filho? E a grande multidão ouvia-o com satisfação.
38 And he said to them in his teaching, Be ye ware of (the) scribes, that will wander [or that will go](about) in stoles, and be saluted in [the] chapping (or and be respectfully greeted at the market),
38 Ele lhes dizia em sua doutrina: Guardai-vos dos escribas que gostam de andar com roupas compridas, de ser cumprimentados nas praças públicas
39 and sit in synagogues in the first chairs [or and sit in the first chairs in synagogues], and in the first sitting places in suppers;
39 e de sentar-se nas primeiras cadeiras nas sinagogas e nos primeiros lugares nos banquetes.
40 which devour the houses of widows under [the] colour of long prayer; they shall take the longer doom, [either \+sls (the longer)\+sls* damnation], (or they shall receive the greater condemnation).
40 Eles devoram os bens das viúvas e dão aparência de longas orações. Estes terão um juízo mais rigoroso.
41 And Jesus sitting against (or opposite) the treasury, beheld how the people cast money into the treasury; and many rich men casted many things.
41 Jesus sentou-se defronte do cofre de esmola e observava como o povo deitava dinheiro nele; muitos ricos depositavam grandes quantias.
42 But when a poor widow was come, she cast two minutes (or she threw in two mites), that is, a farthing.
42 Chegando uma pobre viúva, lançou duas pequenas moedas, no valor de apenas um quadrante.
43 And he called together his disciples, and said to them, Truly I say to you (or I tell you the truth), that this poor widow cast more than all, that cast into the treasury.
43 E ele chamou os seus discípulos e disse-lhes: Em verdade vos digo: esta pobre viúva deitou mais do que todos os que lançaram no cofre,
44 For all they cast of that thing that they had plenty of; but this (out) of her poverty cast all things that she had, all her livelode, [or all her lifelode], (or all her livelihood).
44 porque todos deitaram do que tinham em abundância; esta, porém, pôs, da sua indigência, tudo o que tinha para o seu sustento.
